Bliss bake shop is the very first cupcake shop that Ive ever tried. They have been such the rage over the past few years that I thought why not check them out. The atmosphere is very much what you would expect. Very nice & very white. I love seeing the equipment and ovens they use in making their products. I think thats part of them charm in places like this. The cupcake flavors rotate on a daily basis and I havent figured out the pattern another than maybe to follow the seasons? But they do have some standards. Not a wide selection but thats ok, having the rotating flavors keeps things lively. A standout of Bliss is their Gluten free variety. A good friend of mine is Gluten free and Ive learned how important it is to not only use the right ingredients but also not use the same equipment to make regular food. So its great to see Bliss do this. The problem I face with Bliss is that more often than not, the cupcakes do tend to be on the dry side. The cupcakes are laid out in the open so I dont know if that has anything to do with it when they sit out too long. I really wanted to love this place and I know that the cupcake biz and food joints in general are tough but when you specialize, there isnt a lot of room for error.

I have been told that this is the place to go for all things cake related by a few of my friends. I ordered a cake for my sons 8th birthday. He was really animate about it being a strawberry cake with vanilla filling. I called about a week and a half in advance. We ordered a 9inch 3 layer cake. Strawberry with Vanilla filling and vanilla frosting. What I got was disgusting. It was definitely not strawberry cake. I am pretty sure it was some kind of vegan or gluten free cake because it was super dense and grainy tasting. Like it was made days before I was supposed to pick it up. And not strawberry at all. I called immediately to tell them that it was wrong and my son was VERY disappointed. All I got was an answering machine (Mind you they were still open when I called) and I have not yet received a phone call back. I will not be using them again.

The tiny cupcake they call their regular size is ridiculous for $2.75. I know its premium ingredients, yadda yadda. But really the thing is SMALL. I had the lemon raspberry one, and it was just ok. I could have probably gotten a more lemony flavor from Betty Crocker, and moister too. I tried a piece of their strawberry cake they had sitting out for samples, and BLECH! It was super dry, probably from sitting out, but still, had me steering clear from the actual cupcake. If you want a good cupcake in Portland try Cupcake Jones in the Pearl. It may be a bit more expensive, but at least they are Jumbo sized.

Went here to pick up some cupcakes and the girl contaminated the Gf cakes when I pointed it out she put them back in the Gf section. She continued to contaminate other Gf cakes till I gave up and left, sent an email to the owner explaining my concerns got a email from "Jen" saying "Gf contamination is not their concern" and "they simply offer cupcakes with Gf ingredients" and last but certainly not least "you can not expect the food industry to cater to your specific needs". This place clearly does not care about the Gf community. Will never go back! Support the bakeries who care about their customers!

We were excited to support a new local business and cupcakes none the less. However, we have been disappointed by the lack of customer service. The prices for the quality and size are very high and the cupcakes themselves are very dry. We did like the frosting better than many cupcakes weve tried. I once was there and one of the servers was eating chips and beans while serving customers with her bare hands. Every time I have tried to go in, it takes a while for someone to acknowledge me and they are less than friendly when serving.

To start off I am gluten intolerant and these were not even close to the best cupcakes or pasteries that I could have. I make better gluten free foods all homemade. THe second time my brother went there and bought around 4 cupcakes because I was in the hospital recovering from surgery and we found eggshells in all of the cupcakes. THey make there cakes with the same batter, so if it is a chocolate cake then all the other chocolate cakes are from the same mixture, so there isnt anything special there.

We used Bliss Bake Shop to make over 250 cupcakes in 5 different flavors for our annual Employee Appreciation Party, and they were absolutely fantastic! Bliss put our company logo on the cupcakes, which was a huge hit, and had them ready when I needed them to be. (They even helped load my car!) The cupcakes were beautifully decorated and remained fresh and moist days after the event was over! Thanks for helping make our evening for our employees a truly special one!

Ive completely enjoyed every single one of my Bliss experiences! The cupcakes are delicious, and the cookies and ice cream are scrumptious too! Plus the service is always friendly and the community involvement is fabulous. They are always interested in giving back to the community and participating in any charity event possible. Plus the kids corner and activities are a special touch that you cant get elsewhere! It truly is pure Bliss all around =)

When I found out that there was a new cupcake shop in Beaverton, I was very excited. Their cupcakes were cute and attractive but not what I expected. I tried almost all the flavors on a few different occations, but they were dry and the frosting was very sweet. The only flavor that was somewhat good was red velvet. I love the idea of using local, organic ingredients so if their cupcakes become more moist, I will buy them again.

Im so bummed with this place. They used to be really good before they were bought out. There use to be a big variety with the chocolate cream, coconut and bittersweet being my favorites. But now everything is so dry. They cupcakes are in a refrigerated case which dries them out and theres half the variety. Bummer. I used to bring my kids here all the time but its not worth paying so much when the cupcakes are not good.

Just there today and was highly disappointed. The shop is cute and very welcoming for families, but the cupcakes were less than enjoyable. I tried a couple different cupcakes and found both to be dry and lacked desirable taste that you would expect from a bake shop, not too mention the decoration of the cakes as well - just not up to par. Maybe a better baker and decorator and theyve got a great thing?!

A delightful experience. The cupcakes are moist and look so cute! Pure bliss is right, it comes out in the flavors and quality. Its really best to visit the shop to let the kids play, and see all the great choices among the cupcakes, cookies and ice cream. Ive used these guys for a couple of baby showers and the cupcakes are a HUGE hit!!!
