This night started out with great enthusiasm. The reviews of this place are amazing. We arrive the place and is truly beautiful and what was expected. With an hour left of happy hour we sat are self at the bar with intentions of sitting down later for food. Bar tenders were friendly personable and knowable defenetly willing to talk about drinks find you the right one. Closing out are tab we moved to a table where we noticed the second level. As I note and start to realise staff dusting the chandeliers right above the patrons who are drinkind and already deeply engaged in meals. Took a few tries to realise all staff members are engaged also in not looking at The guy with his arm over his head waving down a touchdown before I had to get the hostess. Thank God I wasnt choking. She as she should quickly told managers who stoped this from happening only to over hear from staff some customers are just ass holes. Two out of three meals are wonderful. Though I did not have much of an appetite to try I heard good things. The fajitas I ordered with anticipation of tiring an over exaggerated and non-existent marinaid it was a cold(And not the skirt type it talked about) steak cut over warm caramelized onions. Spanish rice was nice to see was authentic but the seasoned bean tastes like a generic taco seasoning. Waitress was not in existence when she asked if everything was ok. When told the food was cold she gave a hollow smile and exclaimed good thats great and was not seen again till it was time for the check. Very disaponted in this place. Great drinks amazing bartenders ok priced (they are more expensive then the online menu states) but sadly hands down worst experience I have had in seattle.

The pescado tacos were delicious, I would definitely order those again. The complimentary chips and salsa were great. However, the black beans were a bit salty and didnt really have a very good flavor; they were very cumin-y without any other detectable seasonings. The rice was basically just prepackaged instant rice, which was pretty disappointing as I was expecting Mexican fried rice. It wasnt fried, and the flavors were pretty bland and didnt taste like Mexican rice at all. Thats my biggest complaint about the food. The service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and nice, and made sure to check back with us just often enough. The food came out quickly and it was nice and hot. The decor and feel of the place is pretty cool. At the end of our meal, a man who I assume to be the head chef (or maybe the owner or manager) came out and gave us a complimentary order of the tres leches flan, which was amazing. I had to stop myself from eating too much because Im lactose intolerant, but it was delicious. He said it was because its our first visit, but I kind of wonder if they overheard me complaining about the rice, because I realized later on that we were sharing a wall with the kitchen, and that wall was made up of cinder blocks which left gaps in the wall. Either way, it was great and it definitely made up for the disappointing rice. If youre in the area and looking for a good place to eat, I would recommend going to Cactus. The prices are a little on the high end (our total for just two entrees plus tip ended up being about $40), so if thats a concern you might want to go somewhere else. However it is a good dining experience and good food.

Great food, great service! I only give them 4 stars because the Mexican music was too loud and too frenetic. We arrived early on a Friday evening and were seated right away. I drank the Palermo, a grapefruity cocktail that was tart, tasty and refreshing. My husband started with a top shelf marg (which was small) and switched to Cactus house which he thought was just as good. The chips were great and the salsa freshly made. The queso dip had chorizo and some other nice toppings. I had the shrimp tacos, as recommended by our server. It was a wonderful mix of flavors: diablo sauce, mango, red sweet pepper, cabbage, and la crema on house-made soft corn tortillas. The black bean side was excellent. Hubby had the chicken fajitas and enjoyed them. We were greeted by friendly staff and our server was excellent. She tripped up on a drink order so the manager brought us free flan for dessert (I assume). We had chatted earlier about being from the Midwest and it was our first visit, which was the reason she gave. We were too full to eat it, so they graciously packed it up to go. HAVE THE FLAN!

Everything tastes better with a margarita. Seattles aversion to spicy food always takes me by surprise, but maybe never more so than when getting Mexican. Hot sauce was offered, but forgetting this, I declined. Without it, I found some of the food to be a bit bland. The chips and salsa were very good. I took up the offer for guacamole and was quite disappointed. It tasted premade and lacked garlic and herbs, so I only at a little. The shrimp tacos were good, but for something with Diablo sauce, on the bland side. The shrimp was quite tasty though. The take on a Moscow mule was very strong tasting and I wasnt a huge fan. I was quite happy to get some complimentary flan for it being my first visit. The staff was super friendly throughout as well. Overall, it was a good, but not exceptional meal. Take the hot sauce when offered.

I went to Cactus with my College friend for dinner. First thing first, the ambiance of the restaurant was good, staff was quick and friendly and its 5 min(2 blocks) away from the south lake union. They took around 10 to 15 minutes to get your order but during that time they do provide complimentary chips and salsa. I order spicy taco which was really good, like the way it was made and served with rice and beans separately. My friend ordered Chicken Quesadilla and he really liked it too. Definitely, you should try this restaurant if you love Mexican food. PS: They do have happy hours for Drinks.

Food was pretty tasty. The chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. Sadly they were out of the daily special which was dungeness crab tamales but I got carne asada tacos instead. Very well seasoned, for my palate anyway. The staff was very friendly. We were there for dinner on a Sunday so there was almost no wait. One big plus to this restaurant is they dont smother everything in cilantro. It was also quiet enough to actually have a conversation. Most of the south lake union restaurants seem to be so loud you have to scream across the table. I would definitely go again.

We went on a Sunday night and the place was not crowded. We were seated right away and the food came pretty quickly. The Prickly Pear margaritas and mojitos are delicious. The chips and salsa were great-- the salsa was full of chunky veggies. We had the crispy squash blossoms as an appetizer and they were very good. I had the chile relleno for an entree and it was super tasty! I cant wait to go here again! From other reviews, it seems that Sunday night might be the best time to eat here for a quieter atmosphere and to not have to wait.

It was my first time and I had amazing experience. Place by it self was pretty, nice design, clean. It was happy hour, so we had choice of choosing from special menu (happy hour menu). We got chips and salsa, very delicious and fresh. Same thing with quesadilla with mushroom and really nice salad everything was delicious. Our waiter was checking on us very often, and also manager personally checked on us, and offer to us complimentary dessert (very delicious flan, must try). We had amazing evening and I will definitely come back.
