The food is slightly different than what you would find in many Chinese restaurants. I find that to be a good thing as this place stands out from most others for that reason. And, the food was good. Nothing special. And not bad. Just... good. Most of what I ordered, if not everything, seemed to be made in house, not something that came out of a freezer. Between the quality and quantity of food you get, it is worth the money. I was even given all the extra little goodies: soy sauce, hot mustard, sesame seeds, etc. Many places are hit and miss with some of those things. As important as good food is, the little things matter too. And the customer service is excellent. I have yet to find anything that compares to my favorite Chinese restaurant when it comes to the food, but this place made my list because they seem to really care about their customers satisfaction. Oh, and as for the review that mentioned Safeway Chinese food..... ha... haha. There is a BIG difference between the two places. In fact, I almost got some from Safeway the other day and then, as soon as I walked up to the hot case, I immediately realized why I had not eaten their Chinese food in years. Just look at it......

I have lived in this area for 10 years now and always see this restaurant and have never had the courage to stop and try it. There are no customer cars parked, ever, which is a good indication that it will probably suck. We recently received mail with their menu and my daughter asked if we could order for delivery. I decided to give it a shot and yes, shoot my own foot as expected :-) We ordered a chicken fried rice, orange beef, deep fried shrimp and mongolian beef. Seriously, this is the worse possible Chinese food we have ever had. With the exception of the fried rice which my 5 yo boy was able to crew down, everything else was uneatable, disgusting.

Just plain bad. Ive tried this place twice now to give it a fair shake, but it was bad each time. Decent customer service but the food is just terrible...and Im pretty forgiving. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with pork fried rice. It was $22. Crazy expensive to begin with. But there was no flair to make it a dish, it was just deep fried chicken nuggets with sauce (no onions or peppers; no pineapple, nothing. And the pork fried rice was mostly just rice with soy sauce...barely any egg, veggies, or pork. It was worse than blah and Im very dissapointed. Save your money and do Safeways China Express...its way better (which is sad).

The food is terrible. Im pretty forgiving, but the food is downright terrible. I ordered a House Special Chow Mein, Almond Chicken, and steamed rice to go. The Chow Mein was completely bland, with no taste whatsoever, and Im convinced that they used a bag of Top Ramen for the noodles. The Almond Chicken was unlike any Almond Chicken plate that Ive ever been served, and consisted of some fried chicken pieces with almost-impossible-to-see almond bits on them, and a side box of a gravy that I would swear came from KFC. Added to the fact that they were unwilling to work with us after we complained, and Im done with Golden Peacock.

we have been all over the world and never miss a stop at golden peacock. We have been going here for 26 years and it is as good today as back then. we always get the jade for 3 or 4 and add a few of our favorites. the price seems high but really about comp to any restaurant when we go out. The food is always great portions are good we always have left overs and I can tell you it is much better than any safeway or panda express. my mouth waters just thinking about it. the service is awesome, they never forget people and it is always pretty packed during the business hours. groups are also awesome to have there ;-)

Best customer service I have ever received at a chinese restaurant. These guys are fantastic and I cant tell you how much that makes for a good experience when you are dining out with kids. The food is good, servers have always been extremely accommodating to our no MSG asks, and everyone has been super nice to us every time we have come in. I may have an americanized palette but I have never found the food here falling into the camp of "worst possible chinese food"

My Caucasian husband (who doesnt really know Chinese food) loves this place. I on the other hand am not a big fan of American food served as Chinese food. The "crisp" noodles are the fried noodles one might add to a salad, and soft noodles could really be any spaghetti off the local grocery shopping centers shelf. I can however see where this place would be popular with folks who like that type of flavor.

Good service, food acceptable, love the General Tao Chicken here... not one of my favorite foods, but gosh I love it here! Rice, stir-fry really above 3 stars. It is closed Sundays, so it has bit me a few times over the years. The house menus are good and generous. Just had their Chinese New Year dinner for two $36 dollars, enough food for 4, but tasty and two days of left overs, score!!!

My husband and I just moved to Renton last week and he ordered takeout from her for dinner tonight. He ordered sesame chicken for himself and General Tsos chicken for me. My husband said that it was not good at all. The General Tsos chicken had sauce on it but it was so bland. The rice was very mushy and had a weird smell to. So basically, my husband wasted ~$30 on bland, unappetizing food.

Good traditional Chinese American food. They accommodated our two preschoolers well by placing us in a side room with another table with children. Im sure the other diners appreciated it and we did as well. Great service. Our waitress interacted comfortably with our children, setting everyone at ease.

My husband loves Chinese food so were always skeptical to try new places because hes so picky. He was VERY pleased and actually said we may have found our new favorite Chinese restaurant. Service was also Great and friendly. We will definitely be back, regularly.

The crispy noodles in the Veggie chow mein were tasty on their own but the dish was otherwise very bland with a slimy sauce and tinned mushrooms. I think its overpriced for the quality. Of course food is subjective so your mileage may vary.

If you think Chef Boyardee ravioli in a can is good Italian food, you may find the food here palatable. I gave it one star because they had the courage to open the door even though it may be among the worst Chinese cuisine ever. Yuk.

I feel bad for this resturant. The food that they make you is very little compared to other Chinese restaurants. This place is vulgar and disgusting. Their food tastes like crap and their prices are ridiculous.

Some of the best Chinese food Ive had. The chicken was all white meat, and the pork was perfect, no gristle or dark meat like some restaurants. Im not a real "foodie", but it was really good basic Chinese.

Bar is where its at. This is the spot. Been coming here since I graduated High School (fake ID). Food is good, good Happy Hour, plus the staff makes it feel like Cheers, everybody knows your name.
