So much potential. As a megafan of classic games this seemed like a great place. I walked in here on a Tuesday afternoon / evening and I saw three guys standing around, fixing an arcade cabinet. I wandered around the basically-empty place for a few seconds then went over to them. Stood in front of them, and one of the guys looked at me. Thought maybe he worked there. We stared at each other for a bit and he said nothing. I wandered around a bit longer, saw one guy playing a pinball machine, and came back to the bar counter. Another guy was there; hed been waiting a little bit like I had. An employee finally emerged from among the three and talked with him about buying a soda. The employee didnt address me or ask if I needed anything. I noticed they had an ATM and change machine, but at that point I wasnt interested any more. How anyone can ignore their customers and expect to succeed with their business, Im not sure.

This is definitely one of my favorite places on Planet Earth. 26 pinball machines and 50+ video and arcade games. Local beer from Big Als in White Center (I recommend the Intergalactic IPA). You can get pizza and other food here, though those in the know go across the street to The Local 907 (owned by the 8-Bit owners) for their excellent bar food. The games here are always in excellent or better shape. If a game does go down, its usually back up again within a day or two. Kid-friendly from opening to about 10PM, I believe. Retro movies on the screens like The Neverending Story, Labyrinth, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and The Princess Bride. Mostly 80s music played in a variety of genres. With a place like this around, with friends and good beer and good games and lots of smiles everywhere you look, well, thats what youre looking for, eh? Get down here and bring your quarters!

Been here a few times and the place is awesome for a old school arcade/retro gamer like myself and great if you have a roll of quarters and time to kill! I have been here on a Friday when it is busy and will adjust my review depending on the place...the nintendo decor is awesome and brings back so many memories of my arcade days in the 80s and 90s when it was about the game and having fun and less about console wars or game development...and the place looks promising...but,when i went here on a friday, the place was busy and loud, the squinty print menu is hard to see and you can barely think or concentrate with all the noise and the woman working there explained that their was no $5 deal, just a buck off a beer or something...anyway,best time to come is when it is quiet on the weekdays! It is a great arcade!

I feel like this is a strong 4.5 stars. The place has a good location. Its definitely an asset to the downtown Renton area. Parking can be a bit tough, so you might have to park a block away. The game selection here is great. People often ask for a retro arcade and this is the type of place theyre hoping to find. Theres a collectible shop and a video store not far from it either, so lots of places to get things related to gaming. Looks like they have a good selection of drinks and snacks. Getting service when there were problems was quick and easy. Will likely be a fun hangout spot for me. Ill probably go here once every couple of months just to drop some quarters in the pinball machines.

Pinball Mecca and vintage arcade game oasis. 8-bit Arcade has a great atmosphere that welcomes pre-digital pinball wizards and the post-Pokemon generation with equal hospitality. They had brand new games and all of the classics (Except for Black Knight 2000). Pinball machines were well-maintained, optimally placed to avoid crowding, and well lighted. The crowd was unexpectedly diverse racially, and there were more women than typical for a game arcade. Kids are allowed until 8PM or so. Food and drinks could be got at the bar in the center of the venue making it possible to order a drink between balls. Limited menu, but I prefer that. It limits spills8 and greasy pinball glass.

8-bit features a big selection of pinball machines for the pinball enthusiast, but also has a good selection of video games ranging from classics like Joust and Centipede to newer shooters like Jurassic Park or CarnEvil. This location also features snacks and pizzas as well as beers on tap or bottled, and an assortment of other drinks for any gamer. On times I have went, there has been private parties that close the whole arcade and small pizza parties that take up the small area where the classic tables are. They even have a back patio to play Jenga or a big Connect Four. Overall, a good place to visit if you like classic arcades!

Im a regular here on the weekends. Staff are great. Pizza is good, beer is great and games are awesome. Just a heads up this place does get packed on weekends and there is limited seating at the bar. Also the womens toilet is often occupied by two ladies at a time who are only fixing their makeup before they head out to other bars.

Such a fun spot... the name says it all. Considered giving it 4 stars because the interior is a slightly shabby, but the wife and I enjoyed gaming/drinking here far too much to warrant a downgrade. Were going back soon, and bringing friends from Ballard so we can brag about how they dont have a hangout nearly this hip. Go Renton.

One of the larger barcades Ive been to recently, this has some great electro-mechanical machines. They have a lot of pinball machines too - even some I remember from my youth. They have a decent selection of beers, and fantastic milkshakes. A fun little neighborhood in Renton to check out.

This place is retro-arcade awesome sauce! The Sodo pizza is good and beer selection fun while being kid friendly during daylight hours. The game selection is so much fun! My kids and I have a great time here and I always enjoy taking new people. It is a gem in downtown Renton.

Great place to game it up late into the night and early morning. My wife and I had a fantastic time playing new and old games. Besides people having their kids there past 9 (were parents and come on there is booze being served), it was really fun. Definitely a place to go.

I was afraid my two boys (age 10 and 14) might find old arcade games boring. To my surprise, they had a blast. The staff was friendly, the machines showed their age, but still worked great! Kudos to the maintenance staff for keeping all those old machines up and running!

Really fun place to go for kids and adults. They have beer and wine in cans and single wine glass. Food is microwave stuff. Games are 80s old school and still take quarters. I always spend hours at this place. Believe the place opens at 2 week days and 12 on weekends.

This isnt just a cool arcade in Renton - this is the best arcade in the greater Seattle metro area. Their pinball selection is great and most of their machines are in really good condition. The prices are good. The staff is friendly. What more are you looking for?

Crap.. you get your ID checked multiple times by minors. because they cant remember that they already checked your ID once. The female "bartender" has an awful attitude and does NOT belong in customer service. I used to love this local arcade until today.
