Wish I found this place earlier since I live nearby. Its a hole-in-wall Japanese restaurant that is simply the best in the neighbourhood! And Ive been to them all, being a Japanese cuisine fan. I got higher quality food here than some of the other more expensive places. We order the Super Deluxe Sushi, Kirkland roll and Caterpillar. I was delighted that the salmon served is Wild Alaskan and none of that farmed salmon that is bad for you. Since I ordered the super deluxe sushi, the waiter started me with a side salad and miso soup. In the side salad, the chef paid enough attention to layer the dressing between the salad itself so you get the tasty creamy goma (sesame) dressing throughout instead of just at the top, like in so many other restaurants. The miso soup was lovely with a rich thick taste just the way I like it. The super deluxe came with uni (sea urchin) that was really fresh, creamy, sweet... so umami! I never liked uni having tried it several times at other high-end Japanese restaurants. But I think this place has converted me to an uni-lover. Not sure if thats a good thing since uni is an expensive habit ;) The sushi size is just perfect. Ive been to so many places in which the rice portion is so big that its overpowering the fish. I noticed that the tempura is done just right too, with a light crunchiness that is not oily at all. The chefs definitely know what theyre doing! The service was friendly and good, and I was surprised that the waiter could manage it so well even with a full house. Would definitely come here again (itll likely be my new favorite japanese place in the neighborhood). Great value for proper Japanese food.

So Mondays are a challenge at times. Our usual Sushi places are closed. We really wanted some so we were driving around, another one closed, ug! Then I remembered someone had told us about this place a while back. Yippee, its open! It was a bit later than our usual dinning time on a school night. (8:30) Its a small place, a couple tables had dinners and also at the bar. Busy little place! Mmmmmm, soft shelled crab, fresh sushi and our daughter had a bento box that was enough left for a meal at home. The lacking star, service was a bit off but with that being said there was just one guy in the front of the house to do phone orders, bussing, serving and..... I will definitely go back. If you haven tried it dont let the size or the fact its in a strip mall keep you away. Geat food and sake too!

Superb food! They had a $10 Hamachi special today which was amazing: The sashimi was prepared with peppers, spices, and a sauce that was well-balanced and delicious and the presentation was beautiful, with one Hamaichi slice formed as a cylinder, wrapping some Tobiko. I had the Chicken Katsu for the meal, and it was also great: Moist meat, crisp golden brown breading, and not a single scorch mark from the frying process. And, a large portion, too! Staff was very friendly and welcoming. I think I found my new regular spot for Japanese food. とても綺麗で美味しかったですよ。

I love this family owned and run sushi spot. It is certainly the best sushi in the neighborhood and the people that run it are incredibly friendly and make an effort to get to know you. We have eaten sushi here for several years (both take out and eating in.) Recently, we had an experience with very slow service, but it was a busy Friday and they seemed short staffed. While it was a frustrating moment, it certainly isnt representative of the place as a whole. Well continue to be faithful customers.

The sushi was fantastic and the staff is friendly, but the service was slooooooooow. Granted, we were there at peek time, but we sat for 15 minutes before we ever got a menu or anything, and it took about an hour before we actually received any food. If service had been faster, theyd get five stars. We will definitely try them again though! We were also pleasantly surprised at the low cost of our meal!

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of catching an early dinner here (10/14/15) and wow were we impressed. We ordered two sushi rolls and gyoza from the menu then asked the chef to make us something special. It was!! All of the sushi was tasty and the rice was moist. A really great experience. We highly recommend this little restaurant for the sushi connoisseur! Well done Momoya!!

Refreshing little spot. The food quality is excellent and the prices are on par with other sushi joints on the East Side. Momoya is well known to locals and they have a loyal base of regulars. Kinda like a "Japanese Cheers". The staff is great. Nice selection house specialty rolls.

We just discovered our little neighbor Sushi and Sake House and they are awesome! Its a small place and it stays busy, so have a little patience when waiting for service, but the sushi is worth it! They make sushi into a fine work of art!

This place was disappointing. They never called us when our table became available, they never gave us menus, they didnt give us spoons with our soup, the rice was crunchy and wet, and everything cost way more than it was worth.

I have been coming here for several years. Awesome quality, and we are happy to support a great family business. Some days can be busy, but everyone is working hard and the meal is worth th wait. Enjoy!

Hmm well after reading the reviews I was very disappointed. We must have caught them on an off day because the Sushi was bland and wasnt very good. We will not be coming back. Too bad really

Sushi was good, but we try a new Sushi restaurant every few weeks so we have probably tried over 40 sushi restaurants in the area and the sushi was good, but nothing exceptional.

Love this place!! Small, so sometimes takes a little while to be seated, but very much worth the wait! Staff is friendly and the food is fresh and wonderful every time.

Excellent food and drink, in this undiscovered little place recommended by a friends local daughter. Shhh! Dont tell, success may ruin it! They are already busy enough!

Excellent value and good quality food. Service is friendly but be prepared for a little wait time at lunch - they stay busy ;). My favorite sushi in Kirkland!

We went for a friends birthday and got a free "birthday roll" (not pictured). It was absolutely amazing, and I will definitely ask for it in the future.
