Great Sunday Brunch. Our family went to Puerto Vallarta for the Mothers Day brunch buffet, and we did not leave disappointed. It started off a little shaky -- it was extremely busy and despite reservations well in advance for 10, we were seated at a small back table against the wall that reminded me of sitting in coach on an airplane. Whenever the person sitting by the window or in the middle needed to get up (which was often since it was a buffet), everyone else had to get up first and stand in the aisle. They were also out of high-chairs when we arrived. After flagging down the hostess and several waiters for help, they basically told me to stalk the restaurant until someone else left, which worked after 10-15 minutes. After buckling everybody in, and fighting through the crowd to the buffet line, I found the selection and overall quality of the food to be quite good. The brown mole sauce, chili verde, fajitas, fresh fruit, and donuts deserve special mention, while the enchiladas could be a little less rubbery. Given how busy the restaurant was, the buffet stayed well-stocked and the waiter was reasonably consistent in providing us with a steady supply of drinks, soft tortillas, and even flowers for the three mothers at our table. Altogether, the experience was an unexpected and pleasant surprise, not what I would expect from yet another Puerto Vallarta restaurant. Well be back another Sunday.

We have been coming here for years, the service consistently good, the food also always great. We became regulars and got to know most of the servers very well they even know exactly how we like our food. Today, we were met with the WORST hosting experience we ever had at any restaurant. Kiara.. the hostess, I think she owns this restaurant now, at least she acts like it, is the rudest hostess we have ever came across. This girl is on a different planet for sure. I am glad some of the servers where present to witness the incredibly rude experience we encountered. My wife, asked me to go somewhere else but I knew this place better and knew this is NOT something that they would ever approve of. Next time we will be leaving if this hostess is present at the door.

My boyfriend and his dad came in at 5 on a Friday night and our first clue should have been this empty bar. They had staff, lots of them (We counted 6 inside the bar which had just 4 tables) but the service was the worst and most disorganized Ive almost ever seen. We had to wait for drinks, beg to get refills, wait to make a good order and deal with no dressing or silverware once we got some. For a well staffed non busy bar this was one of the worst service experiences Ive ever had, mostly due to the fact that no one seemed to know what their job was. Everyone was tending bar, serving and bussing so in reality nothing was getting done....if they paid attention theyd make a lot more money.

Ive been here twice. The first time wasnt so bad, but the second time just ruined it. My friend, who is a vegetarian, asked for a cheese enchilada. The waiter repeated back "cheese enchilada." After a bite or two she realized she was eating chicken. She hasnt eaten meat in FOUR years. This could have made her sick. We brought the error to our waiters attention. No apology, not even a simple "sorry." Instead he asked in an annoyed tone if she "wanted it remade?" SERIOUSLY?? He brought out a new ACTUAL cheese enchilada, and we were still charged full price for everything. Needless to say, well be going elsewhere from now on. Dont go here if you have any special dietary needs.

We celebrated two May birthdays last evening at Puerto Vallarta, and even though it was Cinquo de Mayo, and the restaurant was jam packed, from the moment we arrived, we received the best of service. Our reserved table was in an excellent place. Service was prompt and friendly. I had brought a cake for dessert, and it was whisked away to the kitchen upon our arrival and delivered with singing, plates, napkins, forks, right on schedule. I never had to ask for a thing. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. Well definitely be returning soon, and we will no doubt be celebrating the two May birthdays at Puerto Vallarta again next year.

I have been to this place a few times now, we gave it a fair chance, but not again. We will go into Tacoma to Azteca,. Three of us were there last night for dinner, we found it to be tasteless, dry and not very hot I think mine was done 1st and they let it sit and get cold... we all had different dishes and we all agree we will not go back. I will say we were seated fast, beer came fast, plenty of chips and salsa, a great server, but after that the kitchen changed the game. no taste no seasoning on anything you would not have known what you were eating if you had been blindfolded that makes it all SAD .

I hadnt been here in several years and I have to admit, when my family suggested we eat here, I was hesitant. But when we arrived I was very, very surprised. Its clear they were forced to remodel to keep up with Moctezumas. Its a lot better looking than it was a few years ago. I have to say, I liked Puerto Vallartas margaritas better than Moctezumas and the food was better, too. I was very, very impressed with all the changes that were made. I had to call my childhood best friend to let her know how much it changed so she knows to go next time shes back in the harbor. It was that good.

Wishing I had a great review so I could go back again... No such luck here. Great chips n salsa. Stop there.
Margarita was very sour and weak, fajitas were in burito seasoning and served on a cold plate not a sizzling cast iron. Even fresh tortilla were soggy, almost uncooked. Huge portion of onions and peppers and very little steak. What's with the tiny tiny morsels of steak? Not a single piece over an inch. Even if it was good, the prices were way too high. Sorry PV.

Taco Salad was 90% lettuce and tomatoes, no rice or beans, just a teeny helping of meat, and a teeny shell. Charge way too much for this! 2 taco salads + side of guacamole = $25! NOT going back for that again. May try the buffet, because its close to home, but would much rather got to Azteca (for buffet) or Taco Del Mar (for taco salad).

Would like to rate them higher, but I must agree with some of the criticism. Some great folks, but service has declined generally and, like the kitchen, seems inconsistent, Margaritas not as tasty as others. Big remodel kinda made things a bit nicer. Rarely crowded enough to need to wait for seating. Still good,,, usually.

Try the the Buffet, Served between 10-2 i believe. and very affordable. Always clean and freindly atmosphere. Order via phone is about 10 minutes, plenty of time for you to drive in for pick up.The Carne Asada steak is great, also there is a triple enchillada plate with chicken beef and pork, try that. Courteous Staff.

I am from Texas and this is some of the best mexiican food Ive had while out of town. The salsa is excellent in consistency and taste (way better than pueblito that is runny). Seating can be intimate/secluded or bright by windows. Not crowded. My new place while im in town
