Red Lantern offers the standards you expect from any Americanized Chinese restaurant but also on the menu are specialties such as pork knuckles casserole. For a quick pick-me-up, I dash in for the hot & sour soup; spicy good that hits the spot. But I prefer to linger over a meal: Kung Pao chicken, broccoli w/ garlic sauce, a wor won ton soup, etc. Lunch prices are approximately 30-40% discounted from dinner prices. Open ~6-8 weeks, Red Lantern is an easy selection for best Chinese food in Edmonds. Yum. NB: The restaurant closes between 3pm and 430pm, when the staff dines in. Hmm, they like their own food - it must be good! UPDATE: New owners and new name as of July 2017 New hours... Monday through Friday: 1100am - 300pm 430pm - 930pm Saturday and Sunday.... 1100am - 930pm

Update!! The Red Lantern is under new ownership and is now named Furi". Four of us ate there this evening, and if anything, it is better than before. The portions are still generous, but a bit more manageable. The flavors are a little more refined, I liked the Mongolian Beef especially. Salt and Pepper Fish was really special, pieces of white fish, battered and deep fried, with chives. Spicy and very tasty. We were so happy to rediscover this restaurant, and we will soon return!

Absolutely horrible! The menu clearly states, "served with steamed rice". We received our four entrees with absolutely no rice. When we asked we were told, "rice costs extra". No apology, no offer to provide complimentary rice, and was only told, "we are very busy, what do you want to do?" Absolutely run the other way and dont bother with this place.

Ive enjoyed a spicy dinner there but also had lunch dim sum which was poor. She pushed the one cart over to me and I selected a few steamed items but then she left and came back with them because they werent ready. Loved the sticky rice but the dumplings were just awful. I would love to keep coming back, just needs a lot of improvements.

Im surprised to see such mixed reviews. The staff were very attentive and we enjoyed the food, honey walnut shrimp, lamb sacha and beef chow fun. I really thought this was some of the best Chinese food Ive had in the area, as good as plenty of places in NYC and Boston. Im looking forward to trying their xiao long bao.

Horrible food. If you think this is "tasty" clearly you have never tried actual Chinese food. The meat is like rubber and anything I order is disgusting. The food in Edmonds is dumbed down to suit older people as it is but this is rediculous. So gross.

Beware: veggie items listed in menu may have meat or pork in the dish, unlisted. For some reason they think more items on the menu is better. Customer service can be poor.

Pretty solid chinese food and really decent/cheap for me at least a bit slow with both delivery or dine in but still worth it for really good chinese food
