My husband and I have been there many times in the past. *I* have been there several more times than he. Each time was wonderful, albeit dinner was always a tad, pricey. However, today (Valentines Day, February 14th, 2016) convinced us to NEVER return and to NEVER recommend it. We decided to go there for lunch. First, of the two different menus we were given, the prices of the "Starter," edamame, differed in price. I asked if I ordered the edamame, which one would I get? The waitress was confused and told me how it was cooked. When I explained, she said that it would be the higher priced one because they had not updated their menus. They had no Valentines Day Special and no "lunch" menu. Okay. We decided to order what we wanted, anyway. During the appetizer, soups and salad, the waitress kept trying to take away my salad. I was not finished! Then, the chef got the dinners confused and gave me shrimp and gave my husband, most of my scallops. I was to have NO shrimp. I ordered a "Land and Sea," which is a New York Strip steak and scallops. My husband ordered their "Marine" meal of shrimp and scallops. He got most of my scallops and I got a goodly, sum of shrimp. Others at the grill ordered the cheapy steak of a "Chefs Choice." I watched the Chef cut up and cook MY steak and combine it with everybody elses cheapy steak. I was NOT happy. It was over priced and he gave away my steak. The scallops were flavorless (I can do a better job; and I will cook my own steak and scallops in the future, as I am a better cook than that chef). The brown sauce was MOLDY. Can ya say, "M O L D Y?" OMG!!! We will NEVER, EVER return. Do NOT waste your money; do not waste your tastebuds. The tidbits of steak of MINE that I did get, was good. The fried rice was good, but not $3.50 MORE for the meal, good. WHAT? No cracked black pepper? For the kind of money we spent on lunch, I expected more than crappy pepper, flavorless food, moldy food and unreasonable service. You could not GIVE me a free meal there... I wont go. My husband wont go. NEVER, EVER, will we return!!! Go to Hopjacks and order their Tempura Prawns. Its much cheaper and much tastier. For an over $100 lunch for two people, I expect more. Oh, and only 1 cocktail (for 1 person). Unbelievable!!!

I went there with my family today and I am not happy even after considering the fact that they just opened the place. Im not happy about both service and the food. First of all, the service was quite bad. The waitress who served us seldom checked with us. My wifes food came like 50 mins after we placed an order. I would understand it if the place was crowded, but it was not. My wife ordered this dinner special and it was just some stir fried seafood with a bowl of rice with salad and a soup which costed $22. The rice came long before the main dish. When we finished eating, I asked another waitress for a bill and she said, "OK sure, the other waitress will take care of it." I assumed that she would let the other waitress know that we were ready to go, but she did not! So we waited for about 10 mins just for the waitress to come. After we got the bill, she again would not check with us and we waited another 10 mins until she came into the area where I could wave at her to get her attention. Sure, I could have walked to the casher, but I shouldnt have to do that at a place where the food is more expensive than other places, should I? To make matters worse, none of the appetizer was available according to the waitress. I asked her why, but she couldnt answer it. Even considering the fact that they just opened, I thought they had a poor management team. We sat at the sushi counter. The sushi guys were not Japanese. Well, that doesnt matter if they serve good sushi. Their sushi was alright, but from a person who grew up with real sushi, it was mediocre. The sushi vinegar was not rice vinegar. The sushi rice was too sweet and mushy. The taste is probably tailored for American people. The last thing the sushi chef should have done was to offer us a free special sushi dish. Yes, he nicely offered us a special sushi dish. When I saw the dish at a glance, it looked delicious, but as it got closer to my eyes, it was deep fried sushi with sour sweet sauce that you would use for egg roll. Im sorry, but I just cannot accept the fact that they call themselves "Japanese". The price is pretty high, their service is not so good and the authenticity of their "Japanese" food is in question. Im giving this place two stars. I will give them another try probably in about 6 months.

My wife and I went here last night and was quite surprised with this tasty delight! From the outside I thought it was plain sushi bar or something, but we had no idea its a Benihana table-side experience & sushi bar. We were very glad we got there right before 5pm, because people were coming in droves after us and filling up each table quickly. As far as the service goes, I dont know what the other reviewers are talking about because we got great service from the start. You have to remember if you seat at the table-side its going to be a little over an hour dining service that you cant do anything about so just relax, have a drink, and enjoy the experience. The chef we had was very entertaining and the price of the food compared to the taste and experience you get is well worth it. In fact, they have some dishes <$20, which for this kind of dining is very reasonable and well needed for this area. Lastly, the food is simply great! My wife ordered a tray of sushi for appetizer (which was tasty) and she also ordered Sukiyaki beef and I ordered the Hibachi steak. I wanted to see how the chef would handle my die-hard need for SPICE so I asked him to make it hot, and boy did he, it was great! All in all, this is a great restaurant and a definite must try. BE FOREWARNED this place gets PACKED early so get there early (5ish) or expect to wait for the next round of seating. All 10 tables were in high action by the time we left (about 6ish) and each table seats 8 people. We passed nearly 30 people in the entry way on our way out, and based on our experience and food quality, I can see why! Well be back again for sure!

Weve been twice in 2 weeks, first time was excellent, second time was great - but the cook at our table wasnt as entertaining... after we went the first time I was craving their california rolls for a week and had to go back! Ive never had better sushi, and ive had ALOT of sushi from different places. The staff is very attentitive, refilling glasses when they are a quarter full, making sure everything is okay frequently, they are wonderful! The first time we went we sat with people that were great and really enjoyed the experience along with us but the second time we went we were sat with the WORST 2 ladies... they complained about everything so they could get their meal compd... they got free sushi and dessert and STILL complained AGAIN at the end of the meal to the manager saying things like "we are from pennsylvania and weve been to the best restaurants in New York City, we know good food and this isnt good food...etc" well guess what YOU ARENT IN NEW YORK AND YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER RESTAURANT/EXPERINECE FOR THE PRICE in the covington area... sheesh... I wanted to punch them in the face... so when the manager asked us how our meal/experience was right in front of the complainers we all emphasized hoe GREAT, EXCELLENT, and DELICIOUS everything was... some people astonish me... ANYWAYS this restaurant is great! the service is great, food is great, sushi is great, cooks are fun! :)
