Our waitress decided to go on break before taking our order. She told us she would be right back. We were ready to order and she walked right past our table to help other people before disappearing. We waited half an hour before finally going to the bar and ordering. It took over an hour to get our food after we arrived. My friend had a fly in her drink, and instead of getting the drink for free they gave us complimentary strawberry mousse without even asking us if it was something we liked or could eat. The drinks were badly made. I ordered a Bahama Mama and it had random things in it and tasted horrid. The food was good in theory, but executed horribly. The jojos were over seasoned and burned on the outside, yet cold on the inside. The burgers were incredibly greasy and made me sick. The atmosphere was great, and most of the place was nice. The bathrooms were small and the walls were ripped up and there were exposed wires. The soap dispenser was empty and instead there was an old ketchup bottle filled with soap. The karaoke was fun. Everything was incredibly overpriced. This place had some pluses, but definitely had a lot of minuses. We spent a fortune and although we had a good time, the food sucked and made me sick, the drinks were difficult to drink and the service was terrible. We will probably go back just because they have karaoke every night, but wont be ordering the food again, thats for sure. And I will probably have to sit at the bar and instruct the bartender on how to make a proper drink so I can actually drink it.

If I could a. get my money back. b. get my hour and a half back. and c give this place negative stars I would. My friend and I went here for Halloween. We tried to find a table, and every single one in the bar was either dirty and unbussed or occupied by others. There was a line to get drinks, which would have been fine except, when I did get my drink, it was so strong I could barely choke it down. My friend and I wanted to sing a song, but they apparently were only allowing regular customer have time slots which was extremely disappointing. Not to mention as soon as my friend went to use the restroom, a super creepy older guy came up and asked me what kind of underwear I was wearing. I understand this is a bar, and certain things can happen, but the same situation happened to my friend on her way back from the bathroom! However, the thing that has completely shut us off from ever going to this bar again was the way they closed out the bar. At 1:48 am they began screaming "get the f*** out" "bars closed pay you tabs and leave" etc. Okay, well...the bar doesnt close til 2...and its daylight savings so technically we should have had another hour...regardless, I dont think a paying customer should be told to "get the f*** out of a place unless they are being disruptive, which we werent. It was overall a horrible experience.

I went to the Spunky Monkey on a Sunday afternoon to get a carryout order. I walked in and wasnt sure where I should go since there was nobody to be seen. I placed my order downstairs where the kitchen is, then went up to the bar to pay. I had a coupon, which was considered a gift certificate, and the bartender lady could not figure out how to run it thru the computer. She must of tried for 10 or 15 minutes to process the order, then she finally said her line must be down and suggested I use the ATM machine to get money out. I said nevermind, I didnt need the food anyways and left. So long story short, I left there with no food, and a very disappointed, unhappy customer. I will never return there again, and will pass this info on to others!

The staff is most excellent but the clientele? Very proletariat. I do NOT recommend coming here to sing since there are so many people there and too many are basically professional karaoke artists. If you do sing, you had better be excellent or the peons in the audience will yell GONG!!!!!! until you GTF off the stage. The people who run the karaoke are some of the kindest, most patient and outgoing individuals on the planet. In summary: the building is a $hit#ole, the food sucks, the beers warm, the crowd is full of @$$hats and d!(kheads, the staff is phenomenal all around and the music is great until some moron sings something they arent equipped to perform well.

I love this place. If you think "I cand do Kareoke because people will laugh at me" then this is the best place for you because "we" the regulars are very welcoming and just love to have fun. The workers are great and the kareoke host Jme aka sunggles is the best in the business. The people are friendly and the workers are the the best. Heck if you need a someone to sing with you jme will always be there to help. You need to come on down and give this place a try because if you dont you are missing out on making some great friends and having one of the best nights of your life. I LOVE THE MONKEY SAYS SAMANTHA!!!

The Spunky Monkey has great opportunity in its reach. The drinks do need some help, as well as the crowd. I went in there with my girlfriend and not 10 mins later there was a fight and about another hour later there was another one. It didnt seam like the staff didnt know what to do. The food on the other hand is great in the restaurant. I love the screaming pasta and the Caesar salad. Jamie, the karaoke host is one of the best I have ever seen. Besides the people that are rude and drama filled, this place is ok. I wish they would bring back some of the staff that was great there.

Theres no reason to go to this bar any longer. What used to be a fun karaoke hangout spot has turned into a bland bunker that tries desperately to throw off a modern, hipster vibe while ignoring the fact that its cavernous space is best suited for laughter and music, not pretention and disillusioned boredom. This kind of vibe works if youre in Capitol Hill because you can just walk to another bar to have fun after youve finished your meal, but here in Auburn, we just dont have many entertainment options. Shame on this place for losing touch with their customer base.

Food was crap.. service was crap. I literally have nothing good to say about this place. The bartender was the only one there, so I understood the slow service.. however, the food was terrible. My fiances steak was tasteless and I politely told the waitress about the food and had the texture of rubber. My salad was withered and disgusting. We sent our food back and asked for our tab. She took another 10 minutes to bring it to us and was visibly upset that we sent our food back. I absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone.

New years eve, trying to take my gal out for dinner, she suggested Spunky Monkey. We had a chicken garlic pizza, taco pizza and some spicy buffalo chicken pasta. WOW, the pizza had fresh whole baked garlic that melted in your mouth, fantastic! The pasta dish was creamy, mildly spicy but not over powering and cooked to perfection. Prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is like a little hideaway tiki bar. Best New Years weve had in many years. We even got to meet the owner Dawnelle (sp?) she was very entertaining. Thank you!
