This is the kind of place I would normally like... It was raining outside. We picked this place out after scoping out all the area cafes. We stood outside for 2 minutes while waiting for friends, then decided to go in. At first, we plopped down into a booth, but then decided wed have more space at a round table at the window - 4 people + baby. We picked up our stuff, and tried to resettle. Im getting the baby situated while my husband goes to the use the restroom. The owner gives him a discernible mean look. I was shocked. Then our friends come. We all go to the counter to place our order. Theres no paper menus and the only large menu is on a chalkboard behind the register and is difficult to read - poorly written. So were all trying to figure out what to order. I ask several questions about portion sizes, to which I get confused and annoyed looks from the staff. We sat down, and quickly got our food. It was ok. Home cooked and mediocre. Nothing exciting, but also not terrible. Perhaps it was the cold looks we got from both the staff and the owner that made the food rather unappealing. On the way out, I told the owner that we normally return to the same restaurants over and over again, and were sorry to say that we wouldnt be back. He said he thought we were just there to use the bathrooms and get out of the rain. Im not sure how, as we quickly showed interest in his menu. In any event, I advised him that if he wants repeat customers and a growing business, he should be a little kinder to his guests. He defended that he has repeat clients... and accused me of being rude to his staff (which I absolutely was not - I make a habit out of being kind to servers and store people). After that accusation, I was done with the place. To the owner: I dont know how many people per year actually use your establishment only for the restrooms (2? 3?). But I can guarantee you that the cost of their water, soap and toilet paper, is far less than bad experiences like the one you gave me. What is the adage? A satisfied customer tells 1 person, and a dissatisfied customer tells 10?? Hopefully youll get it someday and treat EVERYONE with respect, even the ones that are rude to you. To everyone else: take your chances. Mediocre food for cheap prices, and a reasonable chance that you may be treated poorly. I recommend trying someplace else. There are so many other great restaurants in the area. I highly recommend the Thai place and the Jamaican place. At both you will be treated superbly every time!

THIS WAS POSTED ON FACEBOOK-----(not by me)To all of my friends out there, who most of you have kids...I beg you to share this post...a friend of mine who spends most of her day teaching children our kids ages...took her 5 year old into the red fox creamery in Winchester because he was about to burst....they were rude and turn her and her 5 year old away....sadly he peed his pants on the way to another local business where he could get cleaned up....how damaging and humiliating to that poor boy to be turned away by an "adult" who they are taught to respect..Im sickened by this and let it be known that I would have ended up in jail if that were one of my kids.....so pass it along ..STAY AWAY FROM THE RED FOX CREAMERY !!!!

A wonderful little place! My wife and I had lunch here with our kids and really enjoyed it. We shared a chicken salad sandwich, a bowl of chili and a barbecue sandwich. The food came out almost instantly and was delicious. Everything is homemade, including the ice cream. I tasted the butter pecan and the peanut-butter/Butterfinger; they were both good but I went for a cone of the butter pecan. The lady serving said that they roast their own pecans in an iron skillet. Whatever they do, the ice cream was amazingly good -- and Im used to Toscaninis and Herrels up near Boston.

This place is Awesomesauce! They helped us put together a birthday party for our 2 year old. Reserved the dining room for us, setup an ice cream topping bar so the little ones could make their own and even helped us get a local magician! Not to mention the ice cream and treats are fantastic!

The ice cream is delicious and the serving size is generous. Be warned that once they run out of a flavor each day, its gone so dont wait too long to get yours. We arrived around 8:30pm and the selection was about half what it was earlier in the day. The chocolate chip mint was very yummy.

Great little sandwich shop. I consistently get their fantastic chicken salad, but tried the bbq last week and it was also delicious and they include fresh pickle slices. Delicious!

I thought it was very good ice cream. we had vanilla with rainbow sprinkles already mixed in, which I liked because I could get sprinkles and a cone, and the Andes mint.

Will let you bring your dog in and as soon as they get your money will tell you to leave, very rude.... Gelatos is very welcoming to animals I recommend there instead
