Went to Topgolf for a group celebration, so our party was a large party of more than 12 people. We didnt want to go the route of a private event to save on costs. Being a new establishment, I knew it was probably not going to be the best experience with so many people in one group. The whole process of getting the membership cards for each player and then having to go back to the concierge desk to get on the wait list for a bay was a bit frustrating. I definitely think some of that could be solved with the design and flow of where they have the stations set up. Lessons learned here, have everyones ID with email and phone number ready and let one person pay for everyone. Otherwise youd be doing this individually which eats into the time to make it to the concierge desk (and standing in that line) to swipe your card to get on the waiting list. Now that I have a card, Ill be glad not to have to go through that again. Second lesson, transferring food from the lounge area to the bays with a large party -- definitely keep track of your server and make sure he tells the person delivering your food that its supposed to be transferred to the bay. While waiting for our food, we were notified our bays were ready. Only half the food made it down. The other half did not come till later and the server told some of the guests it was because we didnt tell him it was supposed to be transferred, which was definitely not true since some of our food made it to the bay to begin with. Also, when food is transferred, the person assisting with food/beverages in the bay did not know what orders were together or separate so we had to tell him at the end so that he could bring our checks, which was also another lengthy process. Opportunity here Topgolf VA Beach: invest in those table side swipe machines that most restaurants have gone to that allow the guests to pay at their table! Would have been a great time saver! Lesson three: Game set up at the bays -- if you are new members with money loaded onto certain cards, make sure that if its multiple bays that each card with the funds is set up in each bay. Somehow the cards that were preloaded ended up in one bay, making it seem like the second bay hadnt been paid. Luckily a manager came down and was able to sort it out. After all that, our group enjoyed actually playing. I know its the new, hot thing and I expected it to not be so smooth. Hopefully after a year or so, all of the kinks will be worked out and it will be a better experience for new players and returning ones now too. Despite the hiccups, Id still go back again!

It only takes one bad experience to ruin this place. 1. They didnt send me my bday coupon. We had to physically get it. 2. Then the lady who was helping us said we couldnt use two of those coupons in one bay(both my bf n my bday is in June) when the manager said we could. So we had to go back to the lobby from our bay to do it. It took way too long. 3. Were here during Fathers Day. It took a 30 min wait for a bay at 9am. It took 30+ minutes for our waitress to even get to us. We had to find a waitress to find her. The waitress we found asked us what her name was and we said we dont know bc she nvr introduced herself. This is an hour into our visit. 4. They wouldnt let our bday cake in at all. 5. The drinks took incredibly long to get to us. Like 20 minutes after we ordered. It was ridiculous. 6. No napkins were provided. I had to go to the bar to get them. 7. One of the servers bringing our food looked incredibly unhappy to be doing it. 8. It was an incredibly confusing experience for our friends that were new. Nothing was explained to them by staff. We had to explain to them. 9. The lady who set us up at our bay was unhelpful in setting us up and explaining anything to us/our friend. She also looked unhappy that we were even bothering her. I literally have a picture of her setting us up with a scowl on her face. 10. Its 90 degrees today and one of the fans was not working. All in all this was a really disappointing experience after coming several times. We feel that the staff was incredibly quick to leave and unprofessional for the most part. So when it goes bad, it goes really bad. Im sitting in the bay writing this. Thats how upset this experience has made us.

My boyfriend and I have gone to Top Golf since it opened and always enjoyed it. I always experienced the best customer service and the response I got from the staff last night exemplifies the exact opposite. First off, last night was super hot and humid. We ordered water and an alcoholic beverage. It took the waitress 30-40 minutes to get those drinks. A few of us decided to go to the bar ourselves to get a water and our waitress saw us. (A bunch of waitresses (including our waitress) were just talking to the bar crew and laughing) She saw us ordering from the bar and got so defensive and blamed it on the computers going down. I dont care if your computers went down...she wrote down our orders, she can talk and tell the bar crew what we ordered and then enter it into the computer once its fixed... Its called taking the initiative. Anyways, she came back to the table and asked what type of liquor I wanted.. I responded with well and that I dont need a fancy drink. She asked my boyfriend and friends and they responded with well too. We closed our tabs and I looked at my bill. She charged me for middle-top shelf for all drinks and when I mentioned this she said that her manager told her that it was well. I asked if they had a specific type of bourbon that I know is considered well and she said no. I went to the bar myself and asked if they have what I asked for and the bartenders said yes. I mentioned this to our waitress and she just blamed it on the manager. Ive always loved Top Golf and even wanted to throw a birthday party at this venue, but if this the type of customer service I will receive, there will be no way I will have a fun time and enjoy it with friends.

This place gets worse and worse every time I go. I was pretty excited when I first heard about top golf opening up in VA beach but they have failed to deliver time and time again. My first bad experience was terribly made cocktail drinks that I had to send back. Then the service was bad and took a long time to get refills and the check. The next bad experience came when my fiance and I wanted to hold an event there. The rep we dealt with was rude and even worse was the insanely high cost to hold an even here (this was February 2016). Not sure what the current rates are. Tonight (1/13/2017) was the final straw for me and I will most likely never visit again. The nachos were terrible and so small it blows my mind that they would even serve those for the price they charge. Nowhere else will you get such a small plate of flavorless nachos. It took 30 minutes just for that to come out and it was a huge disappointment. The pickle fries were cold when they came out. My guess is the were ready first and sat there while the rest of our food was being prepared. Then when our time was up at about 930 it took our waiter until 10:15 to bring us our checks and the checks for our party were wrong so it took another 10 minutes just to get that straightened out! There is no excuse for this. A business like this should operate smoothly and efficiently and the food should be good and satisfying. Sure the driving range is cool. The heated bays and couches are nice. The games are fun but thats it and they advertise to be more than that and anything outside of a driving range they fail to deliver to on.
