My husband and I have been to Olive Garden plenty of times (this location, not so much, but a few times) and we usually stick to just ordering soup/salad/breadsticks, or even just skipping soup. Last night reminded me of why we started doing that. We had a group of 8 people initially, which turned into 10 (we told them it would be 10, just that 2 people would be late). Let me start off by saying that we sat down just after 6pm and we didnt finish our meal until 8:30. That is RIDICULOUS. Everything was incredibly slow, including drinks from the bar. Everyone ordered from the 2 for $25 menu and the waiters came back numerous times having to ask again what people ordered. Appetizers came out at different times and were varying temperatures. We waited for nearly an hour for our entrees. The people who came late ended up getting their food at the same time, which indicated to me that the rest of us would probably get entrees that had sat under a heat lamp for most of the time we waited. I was correct. I got the Smoked Mozzarella Chicken and it actually tasted like burned oil and cheese. The noodles were hard on the top and the cheese looked old. Someone else at my table had the same thing and hers was a little better, but not much. My husband had the Seafood Brodetto and there was not only a noticeable film over top of the "broth", but the bowl was literally 1/4 of the way full. If we had ordered that at regular price, it would have been $16.75, which is pathetic for the portion he got. The bread for that was not toasted as advertised, and was stale. Other peoples dishes at the table looked fresh (the cheese, the sauce, the noodles), but our end of the table got shafted. The mess really started after this point. After most of the meals began coming out, the waiter then informed 2 people at the table that they were "out of meatballs", and asked if they would like sausage. Remember that weve waited nearly an hour for food and they choose then to tell everyone? So, how does an italian place run out of meatballs? Oh, right, because they are frozen and not fresh made. We begrudgingly ate our food and waited for dessert. And waited. Some people never even had their dessert order taken (you either get appetizers or a dessert on the 2 for $25). One person ordered tiramisu, another ordered the chocolate strata, and we ordered the zeppoli. The waiter came out and told the person that they were out of tiramisu. Really? Again, an hour and a half after she had ordered it. She ordered the chocolate strata instead, like someone else at the table. 15 minutes later... "oh, were out of chocolate strata cake." It was ridiculous. At that point, the manager should have come out and offer something else from the full dessert menu, as they were out of 2 of the 4 options on the 2 for $25 menu, and they WAITED to tell us any of this. We were still waiting on our zeppoli. One person ordered the 2 small dolcinis (one of which was frozen) and someone else got the black tie mousse cake (after the manager came over finally and offered it), and that was also still frozen. We finally got our zeppoli AFTER everyone elses desserts came out, they were probably the best thing about the entire meal (and probably frozen previously...). The waiter actually admitted to one of our friends that the mousse cake had to be thawed. Sigh. You dont admit that to people. Anyway, the meal was incredibly slow and disappointing. The manager addressed our issues in a timely fashion and was very friendly; we noticed that 4 other tables around us also complained about the food/wait times, so something was going on in their kitchen that night. We were also informed that they WERE out of meatballs, and now had some, so if anyone wanted any they would box them up. Guess someone ran by Target.

We used to love going to the Olive Garden, but now it is such a waste of money. It has really went downhill. When we first got to the table the glass where extremely dirty, so we showed the server, she said dont worry I can wipe them down for you. Really, how about getting some new glass without some foreign food particles stuck to them. The bread used to be so good, but now it is hard and way too salty. On top of that my husband had some sort of stem in his food, which he got the steak gorgonzola, so that dish did not have any ingredients that would have stems in it. When we brought it the the waitress attention she simply told us with all the hussle in the kitchen the stem must have gotten dropped in his food. With the price you are paying for the dish there should be more care taken to ensure some miscellaneous stem does not make it in your food. I do understand that things happen, and they should have offered some sort of incentive to us to make us feel better about the situation. Instead we got a stem for somewhere, and an answer which made us feel that this happens all the time.

Not a complaint, just shocked about how a customer sucked and the management was a pushover. Our waitress was great and our food was good. The only part that bothered us was the way management dealt with a table near us. This guy was a total bum. SAT @ 8:45 and he complains about his wait time?? Then goes into great detail how he is this big time commercial real estate agent and he eats at Olive Garden all the time. The entire act by the patron was pathetic. He poured it on until management told him his meal would be FREE. The guy was instantly smiling, laughing and ordering more. The guy knew exactly what he was doing and we felt that Olive Gardens staff played right into his hands. That scumbag patron and his pathetic complaints will do that every time because it worked. The guy had a problem before being seated, he had ample opportunity to leave. He wanted free and got it. Management should have apologized to be professional but feeding the bum for free? Then he was the last party to leave that section holding on to his free treatment. I bet that waitress had a real nice tip.

Stewart the manager has a bad attitude -Everything was fine, seated quickly, server was friendly. Then this My family and I went to the VA Beach Olive Garden after a gymnastics meet. After eating we were preparing to leave. My son walked into the isle to put his coat on when an employees walked into (almost over) him. Employee: "Watch out its busy in here and somebody might get hurt - and its not gonna be me" as he walks away. [Brakes screeching] What did he just tell a 4 year old... I asked my wife if she heard what he said. She did not. No apology to my son for nearly knocking him over. So I waited........ Me: (as he returned) You run this place? Him: yeah i do. Me: you dont talk to a child like that, and you dont EVER talk to my son like that! Him: Im sorry Me: You said it you ment it. What he should have said was Im sorry are you ok? -At the time it occured- Very unprofessional and I will not return just because of his attitude.
