My wife and I have visited Big Bowl three times now. I have loved it, but my wifes reaction has been less enthusiastic. So far Ive ordered the Kung Pao Chicken once and the Sezchuan Pork Belly twice. The latter is basically flat noodles with some vegetables and a generous amount of thickly cut bacon. The first time I tried it I was ready to declare it my favorite dish, but the second time I had it I was a little less impressed (still good though). Most of the fare at Big Bowl seems to be spicy, which suits me, but may be a little overwhelming for some. For the area, the prices are nothing crazy, and the service has been fantastic every time. The food is "Pan-Asian," and seems to be primarily influenced by Chinese and Thai cuisine. The atmosphere is enjoyable and relaxing, and not too loud. If youre not a huge stickler on how "authentic" things are, and youre looking for a new Asian place to try, check out Big Bowl.

The five stars are purely for the service - everyone from the manager to the waiter assigned to our table was excellent and inviting. We went here to celebrate a birthday, and we were extremely glad that we had picked this place for the occasion. The food was really good too - we had the chicken dumplings as appetizer, and Stir-fry to share plus Pad Thai chicken. In all, the food was delicious and the flavors were spot on. The only gripe was the Sangria - we tried the special for the day (I think it was an Orange Sangria or something like that) Unfortunately, the cinnamon was overpowering and the Sangria was not really like what we were expecting. We might perhaps order a different drink the next time. But, the hospitality was easily the star here - despite the not so great drinks, we were extremely satisfied with the experience and will definitely come back again, probably to check out the happy hour.

Big Bowl is the bomb digs!! Best homemade Ginger Ale ever tasted! They have about 3.diff. selections between Thai, Chinese, and some other fried rice mixtures, or get the semi Big Bowl and LOAD it up to overflowing with about 25 different vegetables! You get a ton of food, super nice n spicy, flavorful, great atmosphere for a date night, casual, super friendly staff. One waiter (not our original) actually saw how much I was struggling with how hot I made my dish and offered to change it, lol I replied "nahh man I love it, but got any milk!?" And he brought me a free cup of white milk..! Only recommendation is they need to sell Thai iced tea! B-)

I took my kids there for Mothers Day to Big Bowl in Reston Town Center.. My daughter ordered the kids menu item and the waiter brought the Adult version which is not what she wanted. The waiter, in a rather surly way, said that if she wanted the kids menu it would take another 20 minutes to bring her dinner. He said he would charge her for just the kids menu price. Well when the bill came it was the adult price and the waiter informed me that "my manager said that the kids menu is only for 9 and under." With all the other restaurants in Reston Town Center why would I come back???? Very disappointing customer service....

Ive ordered online ginger shrimp/scallops to go. The food was ready by the time promised. Good size portion for lunch. The sauce has had more sour taste than ginger; the sauce complemented other flavors well - mushrooms tasted like mushrooms, scallops like scallops, etc. The shrimp was slightly overcooked (looked intentional), the scallops were perfect and tasted very fresh and slightly sweet. The rice was cooked just right as well. It is somewhat more expensive than other Chinese places but in line with other Reston town center eateries.

Terrible customer service,Went to the Reston town center location yesterday night for dinner with wife and parents. Server asked for our ID when order a pitcher of sangria. Me and my wife had our ID.We are in forties. My parents left their wallet at home by mistake. They are in 70s. server denied serving because they looked underage for a glass of sangria.Even the Manager does not seem to have any common sense. She came out and said the same thing. Unbelievable. Walked out and went to restaurants across the street.

Terrible experience. The waitress messed up our entire order and gave us stuff that we didnt order even after repeated instructions. My sister was eating and the waitress just took the plate without bothering to ask if we were done. On top of that the food is all drenched in some honey-sour liquid. Not a great experience and would not recommend going there at all. But the manger was nice and very respectful. He was able to cover some expenses for us.

While the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the service is very good, I must disagree with some of the other reviewers...this is a very watered down, bland version of Asian fusion at its worst. Being Asian myself my I have a prejudiced view of how Asian food should taste, smell etc...and this is comes no where near the mark...I have had better meals at Panda Express I am sad to say. I really wanted this place to be good. It isnt.

Were there for lunch. FOOD: Shrimp Summer Roll (A), Mongolian Beef (A), Thai Hot Peper Chicken Noodles (C).Portions are quite big. Next time well go with make your own bowl option. Service was great, Ambiance is modern, cozy. Value didnt seem adequate to the quality of experience. If we wouldnt have a gift card and paid the whole amount, it wouldnt seem worth to us to return. But on the whole it was a quite good experience.

Great Asian fusion. Nothing taste like it was microwaved and the options are varied and delicious. I really enjoyed the Pho and the honey lemonade drinks go down WAY too easy. Often we would start at the bar after work just to grab a delicious drink and end up staying through dessert because you cant sit there too long and smell the good food and see what everyone else has without wanting some.

Basic food court fare. Yes its slightly better presented but gummy and bland as well. Think past prime PF Changs. -- went back later the same week, ugh -- 2 days later and I went back. Fried rice was gummy, not properly cooled and toasted. Everything is way too sweet. All I have to say is if you want savory Chinese, leave this place behind. Staff is nice, food is sub Panda Express...

Great service (waiter kept asking me can he get me anything else), free refills of fresh homemade lemonade, hot and sour soup was excellent, combo pot stickers was good (meat was better than veggies pot stickers), pork fried rice and panang chicken were excellent, homemade pomegranate ginger ale was good, too.

Definitely liked the place for my first visit here, portion was what I chose in the bowl and was well done for the sauces I chose. Infact it was a good meal, slightly on the expensive side possibly due to being in the town center, but good place to visit and eat. People in were pretty courteous as well.

Food was very good but service left ALOT to be desired. Just disorganized....even at only a one-third capacity. They got one of two orders incorrect and just generally couldnt get it together. They goofed up a nearby tables order also but gave us the appetizer instead...so, it wasnt all bad.
