BEST pizza in Ptown! Cute atmosphere! I love the sauce and the fresh fried mozarella. I would say the best garlic knots too but it appears their recipe has changed (not for the better)...USED to be the best garlic knots in the area but now with the new recipe, Ynot has them beat. It also could have been that we were served older heated up knots but the size was different, shape, and they werent very soft inside...they tasted like older bread heated in oil and garlic this time or not fresh (under lamp). Pasta is great and the house pizza special is the usually the best. Tonight the toppings were pretty skimpy compared to normal-- we actually had to ask if they were under new ownership because everything was different tonight). Ziti noodles were overcooked but pasta was perfect! Garlic bread was delicious. I also love the crushed ice-- not sure why it makes a difference but just love that the restaurant uses it-- seems to taste better. Love that they have a specials menu now and still send out coupons. They are pricey-- a little too pricey if you think about their competition and the area. For takeout with taste, Ritas is the overall best value. East Side staff is always nice and our waitress tonight was great-- refills flowed, extra napkins without asking, etc. Atmosphere is great especially since the smoking section was eliminated. Love the choice between tables and booths. I love that they play authentic Italian music. Only recommendations I have: 1. Expand your dessert menu, have a display case, and have the desserts listed on the menu. It will increase sales and business 2. Please finish rennovating the womens room. You can tell the pepto pink was painted over dirt and grime and the vent filter on the ceiling hasnt been changed in years which makes you lose your appetite 3. Please bring back the garlic knots the way they used to be! Recommend adding an order free after you do to every meal that orders courses or pizza to entice people to come just for them (we used to!) Overall, a real hidden gem and one of my FAVORITE places to go:)

Dont order pizza here unless youre prepared to wait and be lied to. We ordered a large pizza for take out and called back 2 minutes later to add a personal size cheese pizza. We were assured they would be done at the same time, in 20 minutes. We arrived 20 minutes after I placed the order by phone. Pizzas werent ready. We paid and were told it would be a few more minutes. The whole time we waited the girl at the counter was running up and down the kitchen looking for the cheese pizza, despite that it was supposedly in the oven. We waited 20 minutes and I went back to the counter and asked for status and was told again that it would be another few minutes. I asked whether the second pizza was made after we got here and she said no. The large combo pizza was sitting in a box on top of the oven, getting soggy. Finally the cheese pizza was done and I stated my dissatisfaction with having to wait and that it looked to me like the second pizza wasnt made until we got here. She lied to me again. I said Im not happy with the wait nor with the prospect of my first pizza being soggy or stuck to the box since it say so long. No one had any response and they continued to lie. The owner, and older guy in open collar shirt and gold chain and watch was not helpful and just watched. These folks may think they have the only game in town but thats not true. Ritas Pizza in the next building has similar quality pizza and at a better price. I wont go back to East Side. E V E R! East Side pizza is overpriced and SLOW. New design and furnishings did not improve things. Lipstick on a pig.

The food was good. However, I got very poor service. I walked in and stood in front of the hostess; I was ignored for possibly a whole minute, and then the hostess leaned over to ask a couple behind me if they needed service. Myself and the couple were of different ethnicities, and I had on casual clothes (I think that played a big part, actually). I am a young African American male, a Doctor, and private practice owner; I dont always appear to be those things to others, it seems. After I finally got service, another lady doing checkout took my ticket, cashed me out, and never said " thank you", "have a great day" - nothing. It was the worse service experience Ive had that I can remember

This place has gone downhill! I use to love this restaurant, however my last visit, we got the rudest waitress I have ever encountered in my life, not to mention the rest of the wait staff and the woman at the register were all horrible, the only polite person was the busboy! On top of that Im quite positive the food made me sick. Their food USE to be amazing, now however it definitely tops out at mediocre. If you want food thats just "good enough" and might make you sick and you dont mind waitresses glaring at you while you eat, youll have a great time here. Personally, Im wont be returning.

The shrimp scampi had a watery base instead of creamy based and was $17.00. My husband took 5 bites and within 10 minutes had to leave and go home to vomit several times. It was awful. We will never go back. The prices have become too high and the quality has completely gone down hill since daughter took over business. What a shame it has been going there the last few times. We didnt even bother to tell management as it would probably not do any good anyway. Dont go there.

Nice Place. Very clean.....they have a bar to watch sports if you like. However.........per price and quality of food just does not match. I love real italian food and pizza but I have tasted better. Olive garden actually taste better to me. I got the lasagna....my daughter got the marsala chicken and I took a cicilian pizza home.........very bland.....the lasagna was OK......marsala had no seasoning....pizza was dry and tasted like toasted bread. very disappointed.

Used to come here for pizza a few years ago at the old location, came for the first time at the new location (it moved down to the end of the strip of stores in this same parking lot) for lunch and it was fantastic. Wife got a chicken cheesteak, i had the sausage and peppers with penne, both were excellent. Pizza here is awesome too, here and primo pizzeria in the dam neck area of virginia beach are the only true new york pizzeria spots around here, love this place

Used to love this place and swore it had the best Italian food! However my recent order of 1 sub and 1 tortileni and the total being $32 made me never want to eat here again! I can go to a regular restaurant and pay less! Not to mention the chef now puts red pepper flakes in the tortileni which made my throat burn! And the garlic bread they normally gave me was just 2 buns instead. So safe to say I will not eat here again!!
