We went last night and enjoyed the experience but the food was just OK. Also the beers were a little pricey ($5.50-6.50 for beers that are normally more in the $4-5 range). They had a wide variety on their menu, although it seemed to be they were "trying too hard" to be different. Instead of going for simple dishes, theirs were overly complex and ended up not being as good as they could have been. We ordered fried asparagus with lemon aioli, which tasted like sweet lemon meringue with cayenne pepper - not very pleasant - so I ate the asparagus with no sauce. We also got a pretzel which was good, but again, the sauced failed - it was a honey mustard dipping sauce with an overpowering horseradish flavor that didnt mesh well with the sweetness of the honey (it would have been better to use a regular yellow mustard with honey, OR use the strong horse-radishy mustard sans honey). I ordered the butternut squash quinoa which was well-cooked, but it had an overpowering smoky flavor that tasted artificial - like the squash had been marinated in liquid smoke, possibly. My husband got the Gardein meatball and he said it was just OK, nothing special, although the hand cut fries were pretty good. Our friend ordered the fish and chips and said it was OK, but the coleslaw wasnt very good - and it had almonds it that added nothing to the dish, which again, seemed to me they were trying too hard to be weird or different for no reason. The portions were generous and service was good - our glasses never ran dry. Although we had a little bit of a wait to be seated, it did not take very long to get our food. The restaurant is nice inside although there are a lot of odd open areas that look like they could put in more seating in order to accommodate more guests and cut down on wait time. They also had outdoor seating but it was not in use, for reasons we could not discern. Hopefully some of these issues were just growing pains since this place just opened. We will definitely try it again!

Ok, we get it. Youre cool and hip with your witty notes on the menu. Your bartenders and wait staff that are better than me because they drink a beer that Ive never heard of and make smirks when someone at the table just wants a Budweiser or a Coors (our pallets must not be as advanced as yours). I went to this place with an open mind and based off of recommendation from friends in the area. The menu has got a fantastic selection of foods and can most likely please anyone. However, when I got here I felt like I was walking in the Apple store at MacArthur, I dont have an ironic mustache or tattoos of Morrisey and because of the uncomfortable feeling I got and the smirks from our waiter about my choice of a beer to drink I wont return. I understand that this restaurant probably was not created with someone like me in mind however everyone knows a beer snob and that beer snob will want to take you to this "incredible restaurant" and show off their knowledge of beers so please dont attempt to run us off. But to the waitstaff and owners, remember that Budweiser and Miller are the biggest names in beer because they were successful and appeal to the masses and also dont forget that even though I dont know that the strand of hops in this months featured beer is from a plant only found in corner of the earth, you are still working for my money (tip) so dont be rude when a table asks for a Coors light. I sure hope they add more bike racks to the exterior building so next time I can ride my "fixie" here.

We stopped by last weekend, and we were completely underwhelmed. First, the menu made it very clear that the guests are actually the enemy, with statements such as "There are no substitutions and if you insist, we are going to charge you out the wahoo" and "Get out of here if you are not going to tip 20%, even for bad service". With an indicated 25+ rules for the diner to follow, it is intimidating...and Ive waited tables for 20 years! It also implies a contract, that if we behave, we will get great service and food. Sadly, the restaurant didnt fulfill either of those promises. Our waiter was not trained. He did not know what came with the entree, and after our food arrived, we had to flag down another server to get silverware. Another warning is the restaurant refuses separate checks. Really? We didnt need separate checks, but not offering means the mgmt is too cheap to use any of the amazing operating systems designed for restaurants, or it means the mgmt doesnt want to train the servers. Hmm, could be both. So business people with expense reports, dont bother. Office Christmas party, nope. Two couples on a double date, not for you. Absolutely ridiculous! I will say, this place was packed...but so is Red Lobster. I find it discouraging a place in Ghent could offer such mediocre food and service, but then again Chipotle opened down the street. I guess its true that all the best places are opening downtown.

I have been here multiple times. I love the variety in the menu - not the same old stuff. The staff is always so nice and friendly. I like having another option - most closely compares to No Frill Grill with the price point. The down side is the food comes out slow so if in a hurry dont bother - slow even if the restaurant is not full. The dessert (have had 2 different cheesecakes) are dry and WAY overpriced. If I pay for a $9 slice of cheesecake, I expect it to melt in my mouth or at least not feel like I am swallowing paper. However, I like the place overall and am excited to try the other things on the menu. They should consider putting some more kids menu items. I went there for lunch with the extended family and nothing for the kids. I understand it is a pub at night but would be nice to have as an option for lunch and early dinner. The lack of kids menu limits my visit to the place. I am sick of going toYnot and No frill all the time with the kids so hoping for additions to the menu. It is well worth the try - the bbq and the french onion soup is very very good. The reuben burger is huge and good if you are super hungry. Also, the wings do have lot of meat on them and came out spicy so that is good. Oysters were excellent!
