This place has gone from a fairly decent place to too expensive and not worth the effort. For years we ate there and thoroughly enjoyed it. But recently, the prices have gone through the roof and the food has become average at best. In addition, the place is in serious need of renovation. The chairs are uncomfortable and the cushions in the booths need to be redone. When you sit in the booths, the table is up to your chin. And, the carpets are nasty. Plus, we recently ordered takeout and asked that gravy be left off of the dish because of food allergies. And when we got it home, the meal was swimming with gravy. And, this was after repeating the order to the person on the phone several times and EXPLAINING WHY we wanted the gravy left off. We wont be going back there again.

Ripleys started out at the old Aylett drive in/tasty freeze on 360 and then moved here. Food is excellent. Owner and staff are friendly. Milkshakes are absolutely delicious. Everything is a tad pricey but its worth the cost. UPDATE: No more milkshakes due to ongoing problems Blue Bell Ice Cream Co. is having. Extremely sad day. :(

The food is homestyle. They need extended breakfast hours, and earlier openings. Their strengths are breakfast and lunch. Chairs with cushions are worn and hard on you butt. A little outdates, needs a homey feel. Some staff are better than others in their hospitality. Owner cares about what people think about the food.

Not bad, but not great. I think its a little pricey for a small town place that sells basic food thats in between a laundromat and something I dont remember. I think a basic breakfast its about $9.00. You may as well go to Cracker Barrel in Mechanicsville.
