I dont even live in Virgina any more, but still make a point to visit The Deli when I go through town three or four times a year. This is a hole-in-the-wall place in a strip mall; no seating, not much too look at, and the the employees are not big talkers -- but the subs are to die for. Fresh bread stuffed with piles of delicious meat and cheese, all mouth-wateringly delicious. Just the smell when you walk in the door makes you suddenly more hungry. The owners close the store for a week (or two?) every summer while they go to Italy and buy supplies. A little more expensive than your standard sub, but one bite and you realize its worth every penny (and more).

Super disappointed. Read so many great reviews I was so excited to try this place and find a good deli. They advertise hot subs, but have no grill. I got a steak and cheese, it was cold, cheeses was not melted. Limited toppings. I also got a cold ham and cheese, very basic. Cheese was too thick and took over the sandwich. Prices were decent but this is not what I would consider a great deli. They may have a few great subs but overall disappointing. If you can not make a hot sub, you should not put them on the menu.

I really hate wasting money on not so good food. Had the eggplant Parmesan. That was not Italian bread, it smelled a little fishy, sauce was okay, coated eggplant was too thick and inconsistent in thickness and coating was just south of fresh. Service was friendly till you do something like dance a little bc youre happy, then the personal insecurities in the younger ones come out and they expect you dont understand Spanish. I wont be going back, there is nothing for me there.

Not much has changed at this place in the past 20 years, when my parents would bring a couple "Super Delis" home on Saturday afternoons. Theyre open Sundays, take credit cards, and have a couple seats near the window but other than that its the same as it always was. I live farther from Herndon now but havent found a better sub in Northern VA, so The Deli keeps me coming back.

Ive been eating food from the deli for over 15 years now. Even after moving around to different states I have never had a sub anywhere that is as good as the subs that the deli has. Whenever I come home for a visit, no matter how short, I try and make it there for a corned beef sandwich. This is the best kind of comfort food I have found anywhere!

I am from Rochester NY and we have authentic Italian food by the plenty. Small family owned businesses everywhere and the area is just stacked with great delis and bakeries. (I know good food when i see it) Im going to have to agree with the other review on this one. I havent come across a better sub in NOVA in 4 years living here. Cheers

Best place in the WORLD for subs, and The Deli sub is AWESOME and my personal fav. Been going here since i was a kid (Elden street), and while ive been in FL for past 8 years, I get back home as often as i can... the DELI is usually my first stop (often times right from the airport)! If you havent had a deli, you havent lived! : )

We are staying with family near here and we were craving a sandwich. Google recommended this place and were glad we found it. The portions are insane, I did not need to order the foot long but now I have two meals. The meats are delicious and the staff is very friendly. Would recommend if youre craving a good sandwich.

I dont know why this place has such good reviews. The bread was fresh, but it was low-quality, taseless, and boring. The meats were all pre-sliced, and the fresh mozzarella was entirely flavorless. Panera (in the same parking lot) would be a SIGNIFICANTLY better option.

The have been going to this deli since I was a child and nothing has changed. They the nicest staff and the owners are incredibly nice! Im a regular so they know my order right when I walk in or call ahead. This is definitely a hidden gem of Herndon.

OMG this place is awesome. Ive been going there 10 years. The Millino is my personal favorite since it boasts capacolla (gabbagool!). Extra peppers are a must. Just tried their cannolli for the first time the other day, and it. was. a. DEELIGHT!

The subs are basic affairs but the quality of the meat is so much higher than you get at any of the big chains. Their soda selection was also very nice (birch beer!). The cannoli was everything promised in earlier reviews.

Wonderful deli! The lovely smells of Italian herbs wafting in the air as you walk in. This deli doesnt skimp. Fresh bread and loads of meat. Skip the franchises and try this local delight.
