When I discovered that my favorite Rochester deli had been replaced with a Subway I found Brownsteins on Google. Nice little shop that reminded me of delis in Queens. Great people and the sandwich, on homemade bread, was awesome! They are my new favorite deli... try them!

The very best bagels in Rochester! The people are friendly, the pastrami is great. In addition, the owners are very community minded and charitable. There is just no reason not to shop at Brownsteins. I wish it were bigger with seating and a full restaurant.

Bagels are awesome and 15 to the dozen! The chicken salad on rye bread is the best! The sandwiches are huge. Closes on weekends at 1pm, so do not be late. Cash or check only.

I miss Brownsteins Deli. Every weekend I went for a Pastrami Sandwich on a Biali. Out of this world. I will have to make my way back to Rochester someday just to pick one up.

There bagels are amazing and flavorful! I stopped going to bruggers and that bagel land or whatever thats called near them in the plaza down the street next to panara.
