It is not often, in fact never the case, that Ive thought of a restaurant as fondly as I do P.J.s. When I walk in, Im welcomed by enthusiasm and often even one of the Irish owners. Their menu is tremendous and broad, and the chef personally presents my order to me every time. P.J.s combines "classic Irish" with DC, high-scale, meeting places. Their Irish classics are done to perfection, their beer on tap is broad and balanced, their collection of whiskey is par none, their specials are trendy and fresh. And more, their friendliness is worth the entire trip. I dont sit down without a favorite beer waiting for me already, and the bar tenders/wait staff offer me their most recent take on tater tots. I follow that up by often challenging the chef to "bend the rules" a little bit. For instance, I may ask for the wonderful grits with Irish sausage instead of the shrimp thats on the menu. The responses I get to these requests are enthusiastic. They rise to the challenges of a "regular" by honoring my tastes, just as they do all their customers.

It should have been good, a guy on his guitar entertaining at the bar, an irish pub. Was looking forward to a great meal. Unfortunately, the guy on his guitar was on a serious amp, sitting at least 50 feet away, I estimate the sound to be over 100 decibals. I asked if this volume was normal, and the waiter said yes, so we dealt with it. Should have left then. The tots were fairly good, hot and crispy, but the topping was mediocre. I ordered the chicken pot pie, and my friend ordered a chicken platter. Her chicken platter had enough food to claim as an appetizer, not as a meal. My chicken pot pie felt, well, industrial. No flavor, super consistent, and a terrible, 1/2 raw pastry "top" thrown over the glass dish as an afterthought. Will not be back, ever.

PJs is not a chain, and its privately owned which makes it a more friendlier feel . I have eaten all over the world so let me explain. The bathrooms are very clean here. We looked at the mixed reviews before going to PJs, and were surprised how good it is after we left. The fries and tots came out hot and crunchy as they should, my burger was moist and drippy like a real burger should be. We have also tried the chicken cordon blue sandwich special and it was fantastic. I brought my kids for dinner and the kids meal is good. The manager said the chef used separate friars for their food so no cross flavor contamination. They even have crayons and coloring pages for the kids too. Thank you !!

Food was excellent. Party of 4 on a slow night, we had calamari, loaded tater tots, wings, shepherds pie, shrimp and grits, reuben sandwich, sliders, and a blackened chicken wrap special. All of the fried food was cooked perfectly in fresh oil, crispy and flavorful. Delicious reuben, shepherds pie tasted freshly home made, and the shrimp and grits were wonderful. Excellent preparation and presentation for simple yet delicious pub food. Our server and floor manager were attentive and friendly.

The pasta of the day was flank steak over tortellini tossed with a variety of yummy things including bacon. What I received was penne pasta and no bacon. And a big nasty hair. The server also described one of the beers as a mix between a lager and a stout, but definitely not as dark as a porter (it was a coffee stout, by the way). If you know anything about beers, you know how ridiculous that statement is.

They have many beers on tap. Lots oh bourbons to choose from. A full bar, beer, wine, cocktails. They have excellent food and the kitchen is usually open until about 10? They have outdoor seating nice on a sunny day. Sometimes on weekends they have live music. The bartenders and wait staff are all very friendly. I enjoy this place.

Def recommend Ned Devines around the corner. Here the beer selection is limited to about 8 drafts. The food is greasy and unflavorful. The prices are nuts (even during happy hour). The waitresses are nice and friendly (as is the bartenders) but the management is clueless even after the change of ownership.

Yesterday I went to pj mulligans and had some of the best food Ive had in nova for a while! Michelle was my server (I recommend her, great personality) and I ate an entire slice of fried Brie with the perfect crispy toasts! Not only that she paired it off with a delicious beer called golden monkey!

Deceptive advertising. Menu indicates 17oz Guinness, but the waitress serves only 8 or 10 oz glasses at stated price. When we asked why, her answer: weve always done it this way." All other beers served in 17 oz glasses. Dont mind a smaller serving; I mind the deception.

The only place in town where I can get burger cooked the way like it. Well done. Most chefs will not cook it that way. This chef will. Staff friendly and helpful. Thanks guys for a great Easter diner that I did not have to cook.Keep up the work.

We went on a Saturday night and it was a little before rush. The food was great. I had the Mulligan Burger. Loved it. The live entertainment though was SO GOOD. STOLE THE SHOW. He was a solo guitar rock n roller named Tommy Huntley. Wow!

Great folks and friendly staff! A good place for beers and fries and onion rings.... Other than that the food does not taste fresh and many entrees are frozen food re-cooked. Food is par for the area but the service is pretty darn good.

I havent eaten there, but I go by it multiple times a week. The outside is sometimes a general cloud of cigarette smoke or smelly steam from people vapping. It it werent for that barrier I probably would have tried it by now.

Food here is crap. Burgers have no seasoning. The cook temps where off. The manager refused to come over and address the poor quality. The food is way over priced for the quality. Save your self some money and go to McDonalds.

Kind and friendly staff. Amazing variety of beers on draft. Food is slamming. Owner frequently comes to the store to socialize with patrons. Great part of the community.

Place is hit or miss. Some of their food items are spot on and great, other items are just average or miss the mark. Nice decor inside

Waited 10 minutes at the bar area. No one acknowledged us and we left. Empty on a NFL Sunday. Probably not a good sign for this place.

Irish stew we ordered was probably made hours before and tasted like days before. Bangers were pitiful!! Worst Irish pub food ever.

Brunch is the best. Good food, really nice staff and $30 for food for three of us (with bloodies and mimosas for two of us).

Serving Guinness in a 12-ounce glass? Obviously not a real Irish pub. And the prices are ridiculous. Go to Neds.
