Ordered the shrimp shumai, pork gyoza, fatty salmon sushi, shrimp sashimi, smoked salmon sashimi, spider roll, and avocado roll. They were out of hamachi kama but our server made up for it with a free green tea ice cream. (Thank you so much, it was incredibly delicious).We werent able to order too much raw food as one of my friends could not eat raw food due to a dietary issue, but what we did order was outstanding. The servers were incredibly nice. Its a nice, quiet, cute little restaurant. Next time Im in Fredericksburg, Im DEFINITELY coming back. My only advice is if youre in a party larger than two, get more than one order of rolls. They only comes in six small pieces.

Having lived in Fredericksburg for two years, I wish I had visited sooner! Yesterday was my first visit to Umi Japanese Fine Dining and I had a great experience! The food was excellent, with generous portion sizes. They have a great selection of appetizers, main entrees, rolls, and alcoholic beverages from Japan. The service was top notch. Chandara was our server and she was very friendly and prompt. Dont let the exterior of the building fool you. The interior is well appointed, clean, and as mentioned (and most importantly) the food is excellent. I highly recommend Umi!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I LOVE Japanese food. This is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have ever been to. From the outside the restaurant kind of looks a bit sketchy so I was hesitant but after reading the reviews I decided to give it a shot. The inside of the restaurant is very nice and classy despite the outside appearance. The service was excellent and the food was beyond incredible. All the sushi was very fresh and I know this is always a concern people have. DEFINITELY try Umi if you are looking for some great Japanese food!

I just ate at the Umi that opened Wednesday in Garrisonville, VA and the place is great. They maintain the same high standard in quality sushi, sashimi, and japanese cuisine that Umi established in Fredericksburg. Jasper and Sony are friendly, accommodating hosts and I plan to eat there often. There has not been a quality sushi/sashimi restaurant in North Stafford since I moved here 11 years ago. Im thrilled I no longer have to drive to Fredericksburg to get a good meal. I give them my strongest recommendation.

The location is decent, tucked off the side of rt1. For all the traffic you cant hear road noise. The service was very good, my drink was never empty and the wait staff was very nice. The food is excellent! My wife had the shrimp tempora and I had the Yaki Soba Chicken with Fried Onion Soup all of which was awesome! The food was served piping hot and from the looks of the sushi bar the food is very fresh. Absolutely recommended if you are looking for a small affordable quiet spot.

Hands down the best sushi place in the Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania area. The service is very friendly and the sushi chefs are as well. The sashimi is very fresh and you can see them filleting it right in front of you. There is a great selection of rolls to choose from and many are very complex. It can get a bit pricy so I would recommend coming for the lunch special (ends at 3) and getting the 3 roll special. Food 9/10 Service 8/10 Location 8/10 Overall 8/10

Ive been here several times and had a very nice experience each time. Today, I noticed how courteous the staff acted, including the Sushi Chefs though I had no sushi. Though it was lunch time, I ordered from the dinner menu. I ordered my favorite dish which is Basil Chicken. The chicken is sautéed with fresh green & red peppers, onions, and fresh basil. It was wonderful. Try Umi, youll want to come back!

AWESOME! Just passing through the area and we picked this place due to the rating and it was spot on! Very friendly staff and great service. We has 5 rolls and 20 pieces of sushi and it was out to us really fast. Check out the picture of the big plate! Oh and quite possibly the best shrimp fried rice ever,

The food at Umi is every bit as delicious as it is pretty to look at! In addition, the staff is friendly and the service is great, so this is definitely one of the best spots for sushi in Fredericksburg! And dont forget to order the Tuna Spoons!! Theyre not on the menu but this secret gem is one worth sharing!

This place was a hidden roadside gem my honey and I found on our way back from Fredericksburg, and its definitely worth the stop in. The wait for our food was a teensy bit long, but the quality of it was high and we both enjoyed it quite a bit and well be back when were in the area again!

Dont let the exterior fool you. The interior decor is simple and clean, yet adorned with modern accents. The food was above my expectations. Service is quick and staff is very friendly. Perfect for date night, or grabbing sushi at the bar with friends. Excellent menu selection as well.

The service was amazing! I try to hit this spot every time I travel between dc and richmond. The food was fantastic , best miso soup and the sushi was fresh and tasty. The only thing better than the foods was the super attentive service. We had a blast and will go back often.

This is my favorite place for sushi in Fredericksburg. The pricing is great, and I highly recommend the fried onion soup, its amazing. (Ive tried the fried onion soup at the Stafford location, they do not taste the same! Fredericksburgs is better by far!)

If you are a sushi conoseieur, you cant miss this. Fredericksburg is not exactly ready for high quality sushi, bit if you are come here. We moved here about a year ago and had some amazing options, nothing in the area has compared yet! We love it.

This is a very nice sushi place in Fredericksburg. I dont know much about sushi, but Ive liked everything Ive had both times I was here. There is a nice selection of sakes. The place gets busy on Saturday evenings, and reservations are a good idea.

Food was fabulous! You have to try the Superman roll even if youre not a sushi fan- delicious! Service was pleasant but a bit of a language barrier when ordering drinks and asking questions about menu, which would have made it 5 stars instead.

This sushi place is LEGIT. I work in Freddy and eat here at least once a week and every time I do im like holy cow this is good. Try the Dynamite Roll or Tornado Roll. Its off the menu but theyll still make it. Youre welcome.

Ive always loved how friendly everyone is. The food is just amazing. First place I ever had sushi at, and Im hooked. I would hate to move out of this area of it meant I couldnt have Umi food anymore.
