Decent place, wait staff friendly and willing to give you information about the menu. I have been to many of these types of restaurants in the past and they all have their own "best" thing about them although at this place I can not pick one "best". Here, the food tasted pretty good, meat was cooked perfectly although I personally didnt like the shrimp, it was not bad, just not the flavoring I enjoy. The cooks name was Jesus and he was a great show, it was my daughters birthday so he gave her a lot of attention. They came out after and sang happy birthday to her and hit the gong. That was nice. Downs - No sharing, most of these places frown upon sharing but will charge you $5 for an extra plate if you are persistent, this place just said no way, not allowed. With me was a young teen who hardly eats and they also would not let her have the childrens menu (10 and under) which was still $12. She ended up just getting an appetizer for dinner. I was a little surprised they didnt offer any kind of dessert for my daughters birthday or offer her to hit the gong herself (other places do that) I asked the waiter when he camp back if she could, he said she could and got it and brought it out. That made her happy. We paid and were leaving, the older lady at the counter was not pleasantly departing us, and as I was walking out I saw a nice note on the door from a child. As I read it, he wrote how much he liked the place and specifically called out birthdays.. He said they gave ice cream or cake on birthdays, this made me a little more disappointed that they had not offered. I didnt say anything, we were already out the door. Maybe next time Ill mention it. Overall it was an ok place. I have nothing in this area to compare to so I may or may not revisit.

Nagoya was our new Japanese steakhouse. We had been turned on to them by a friend or ours. This was our fifth visit and will be our last. We had stopped going to the local Leesburg one for the same reason. The last visit it was hard to get a re-fill on the drinks for starters. The Spanish chef Jesus was the worst. The reason I point out he was Spanish is that I dont want to go to a Japanese steak place to have anyone besides someone Asian doing the meal. If I wanted that I would just have gone to the Leesburg site or On the Border for dinner. We arent sure if he really spoke any English as he only pointed to us and repeated the meal order. Beyond that, he didnt say a word. He cooked all the meat and then the veggies...poor order. He forked the chicken, didnt clean the fork then forked the beef. I was glad I didnt order the steak...good way to get sick! I ordered a California roll that looked like the ones I make or my kids make. The scallops I ordered were frozen and they had sliced them in half sideways to make it look like more.... The web site for them leaves no way to contact them besides a phone number. Time to find a new one as this appears to be cutting corners on sushi, safety and chefs.

Nagoyas has great food and excellent service. Either with or without a reservation, waiting for a table is negligible. Ive been many times with my family and I dont think weve ever waited more than 5 minutes, even on a busy Friday or Saturday night. They are kid friendly, Japanese style. If you are looking for a Mac&Cheese or HotDog menu for kids, forget it. Dont even come. But if your kids will eat Chicken, Steak, Shrimp, Rice, Veggies, etc, then youll be fine. And the kids always love the cooking entertainment of patrons either trying to catch a piece of shrimp flying in the air or enjoying the onion ring volcano the chefs make. I will agree, the bill can be pricey. Most meals are in the $20-$25 per person category. About half that for children. Throw in some drinks and youll like have a $100 bill for a family of 4. If tonight is a night for Japanese food, Id recommend Nagoya, hands down.

Nagoya is not only amazing for its wonderful food, it has the best service of any restaurant Ive been to. You make a reservation, youre seated in seconds, you get complimentary soup and salad, and the waitresses are extremely fast. This place makes be gag when I think of going to Kobes or any other Japenese steak house because I will never go to any one of them ever again. I personally hate seafood but I loved every single piece of food I tried there regardless of whether it came from the sea or not. Each chef is extremely skilled in their cooking talent and cooks each piece of food to perfection. Im convinced whoever says this place is not outstanding is either lying, has never been there, or is confused with a different restaurant. If I had to impress a person and take them out, it would no doubt, be at Nagoya.

I recently visited Nagoya and although the food was good and the portions are generous, it was not worth the high prices, lousy service, and the lack of air conditioning. Nagoya also has a company policy of not sharing meals - not only is it not written on their menu or posted in the restuarant anywhere, the server was very rude when informing us of this policy; the portion for the meal was too much for 2 people in our party to eat due to health conditions. For such high prices Nagoya charges, there should be exceptions and patrons should not be required to purchase 2 meals if they are not going to be eating more than 1, especially the elderly and those with applicable health conditions. There are 4 other Japanese restaurants within a 15 min. drive - I recommend going to any one of them over Nagoyas.

I have been a regular of the Nagoya restaurant since it first came to the Ashburn, VA area. The establishment has continued to excel at providing the best quality sushi and tepanyaki in the area. The measure of the sushi bar is in the way that the itamae is able to craft his wonderful selections of fresh fish. If you happen to be there for the tepanyaki grill, you will be very pleased with the pyrotechnics of the staff who are skilled with both their blade and their wit. Highly recommended for all occasions, there is also a private party area located at the rear of the restaurant to handle a nice sized crowd. The restaurant is a family owned venture and Jin the host extraordinaire will keep you entertained with his charm and insight into todays topics.

Went to have a nice dinner with my best friend and boyfriend but once we paid we left the restaurant and smoked a cigarette by my car. Our server comes out saying she screwed up our bill (her fault) after I paid a majority of the bill in cash she said she didnt charge my boyfriends card enough. Then the owner tried telling me they did not charge his card anything (which the bank statement said otherwise) and that we still owed $58. She then argued with me over the math of it all when her servers were even telling her she was wrong. I paid what she said we owed and told her she would never get my business nor my friends and families and she thought it would be nice to say thats good she didnt want my business after she overcharged me.
