I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. My friend and I ordered Carbombs, without putting "Irish" in front as I know that some find that offensive. We were told by the bartender that we were too drunk to order that. Not quite sure how she made that determination, having been there all of 30 seconds. But she still served us a beer, which I guess is fine for people who are "too drunk." That Jameson-Baileys shot would have surely sent us over the edge. Then she proceeded to talk about us to another patron 5 feet from us. Lots of snickering and snarky looks in our direction. Oh yeah, did I mention that me and my friend were the only non-white people in the place? Were both Americans, we just happen not to be white. Also, there were people there who, unlike us, were visibly sloppy drunk and being served without issue. Some seriously racist people at this establishment. Aside from that, this place has terrible atmosphere. Its highly unlikely we would have ever returned anyway (racism aside).

This place is fantastic, a true neighborhood Irish bar so many chain restaurants try to emulate. Ive been here with my coworkers for drinks and with my family (kids as young as 4yrs) for dinner and it suits either demographic perfectly. The staff is very welcoming and genuine. The beer selection is great (they actually fill your pint glasses to the top), and the food is awesome and a very reasonably priced. Fish and Chips and the Irish Reuben are some of our favorites. They just re-did their menu and now have added lamb burgers and Philly cheese steaks, in addition to a few other items. Parking is a bit limited, but there is a garage across the street if you cant find a spot in the back lot. Stop in on a Monday for the $5 burgers. PS: Its "officially" pronounced "seltic house."

Not the superior Irish pub on the Pike, but also not the worst restaurant around. Frankly, Ive been here at least 6 times, but cant name for you one thing I have ordered. I do remember that the bar staff is always pleasant and attentive for the most part (a couple of the guys get really wrapped up in their soccer) but the food is forgettable and there are better options nearby. I will say that this place probably has the most flat-screens of any restaurant on the Pike and they are willing to find a game for you, so if you are trying to watch a mildly obscure game, they can probably help you out.

Id like to preface my review with saying that the service and atmosphere of the restaurant were totally fine. That being said, my girlfriend and I both had some of the most foul tasting and unappetizing meals of our lives here. The corned beef and cabbage as well as the bangers and mash were brackish and acrid. I ate a quarter of my meal before stopping and even then I needed to immediately buy some gum to replace the flavor in my mouth, which had me gagging. I will never risk eating corned beef and cabbage again out of fear that it could taste even remotely as bad as the version I had here.

If youre around and want some good beer and Irish food, this is the place. Went here on opening night. It had great food, decent beer selection and the only drawback was the average service most likely due to the first night jitters. The place is way more spread out than in most pubs in Europe, but the regulations of the area probably restrict it from being too crowded. Manager came by and spoke with us. Seemed to be nice but couldnt under stand a word with his accent and the music. Well go back, just need to be in the area.

My wife and I are big fans of the Auld Shebeen, so we were excited to see one of the former managers open a new restaurant. Our first visit was great. The menu has the traditional Irish favorites and a lot more. The Crabcakes were light and flavorful. I had the corned beef macaroni and cheese, which found a nice middle ground between creamy and cheesy. The service was as good as we expected. The owners came by several times to see how things were going, and the wait staff was fantastic. Definitely worth a visit!

Great Irish Pub. Great service. I got the corned beef and cabbage, but I regret not getting the Irish Ruben. I got a Smithwicks to wash it down. In subsequent visits I have tried the roast chicken, the Irish ruben, and the Guinness stew, all of which were excellent. Again, I would emphasize the great service. I hear the place is owned by two brothers, and one of them is bussing tables and seating guests. Of course you are going to get great service when the proprietor is on site.

This pub is superb. I am surprised to hear someone say its not the best Irish place on the Pike. The food is excellent, the service is wonderful, and I have been to at least 2 other places on the Pike that this is head and shoulders above. The owner Danny is from Donegal, and is as authentically Irish as they come. Many of his wait staff are from Ireland, and he introduces himself to pretty much everyone who comes in the place. I love this place!

Mike is awesome and is willing to speak to everyone. however i was informed i could find another bar to serve me because i asked to play Irish music. I will not return because of this treatment. this was the 2nd time in three visits that that this individual did this. Mike i hope your bar does well, but i do not see it when people in the establishment are informing costumers to go else where.

My favorite place to go any time or day of the week! You cant find friendlier staff. Youll quickly feel like a local just after a few times visiting as youre greeted by the same happy faces. Their choice and quality of Irish food is also definitely two thumbs up. If you find yourself on the Pike or in South Arlington in general definitely worth a pop in.

Probably the best pint of Guinness in NOVA. The staff at Celtic house just pour a lovely pint dont they? Just ordered two and got two perfect pints with a smile from Erika, while watching Sunday night football and the US womens team play NED. The special appetizer, fried pickles was effin lovely. Way to go Celtic house.

Ive been looking for a good fish and chips dish for a while, and Ive found it! The Guinness is exactly what you expect it to taste like (also very good!) And my wife liked her Guinness beef stew. My daughter liked the chicken tenders, and it was enough for her to take home and eat again. Definitely will return!

Not only was the food delicious, but the service was amazing. My friend and I had the privilege of meeting the owners as well as chatting with our server. The atmosphere is very inviting. Being from another state, we were looking for local places to eat, and with this place, we hit the jackpot!

The fish & chips were absolutely delicious. Good beer, great service, and a nice atmosphere. There was even a game on which we werent interested in but the noise from the bar wasnt even a bother. Would definitely recommend this pub for dinner or drinks. They even have a nice outside patio.
