Definitely worth it. Hip without being too-cool-for-school. I was initially skeptical based on some earlier reviews and was afraid it would be too loud and the atmosphere not good - this was NOT the case. It comes well recommended as it is owned by the same folks that also operate the Liberty Tavern down the street - which is a phenomenal restaurant itself. Went for dinner with reservations through Opentable on a Wednesday evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had some beers prior to dinner and enjoyed talking with the very friendly barkeep (thanks Blair). They had an extremely well-stocked bar, great European beers on tap, and impressive selection of charcuterie and cheese to munch on prior to sitting down. Once at the table the service was quite good, with the wait staff very conversant about every menu item. The house-made sourdough and German bread were fantastic. For dinner our table had one of their selections of mussels (Lyon-style...excellent) and some french onion soup for appetizers and the veal spaetzle/mushroom stroganoff for mains. All were great, with extremely generous portions. The only issue some may have is that the menu (for me at least) was a little on the heavy side. This, however, is due more to the cuisine (French/German), rather than the preparation. For us, however, chowing down on it on a snowy winter night, it really hit the spot. The clientele was affluent, good-looking, and was generally a pretty nice crowd to sit down to dinner beside.

Hit or miss. STAY AWAY OF THE BURGER! My husband and I stayed in 3000 Washington Blvd for a very short month before we depart to his next job post. We loved Lyon Hall very much, one time we were there we had mussels, short rib and beer on happy hour, we loved mussel so we ordered 2nd pot, the mussel was so much smaller than the first pot we had. We didnt make a buzz. The second time we went we ordered two mussel, squash salad it was the best meal we had here, we were served by the receptionist, which a little weird but she was very helpful and very nice. Tonight I feel like having burger, I dont like the CB place so I asked my husband to go Lyon Hall. I ordered a lyon hall burger and my husband ordered a salmon. His salmon was very dry, both salmon and side are taste less. But my burger the beef patty just have a weird taste. I asked my husband to try it, he had a bite and he said, either this cow is 14 years old or the cow had been eating swamp grass. I asked waitress please to ask the chef. Chef said maybe because they added more brisket meat into the patty. I really dont know, after this review Im going to brush my teeth and hope the bad taste of my month goes away.

I dined here for brunch today with my family, however Ive been here numerous times. While Ive had some great food at dinner and brunch in the past, I was a little bit disappointed with my meal today. We started with the fresh donuts, which are awesome since they are really are fresh out of the fryer (though the flavors vary and some are better than others). In an attempt to order something light to go with the donuts, I ordered the Market Salade with chicken as my entree, and it wasnt very good, It was a pretty basic mixture of greens, carrots and radishes tossed in a very flavorless dressing (at first I actually thought they forgot to dress the salad). Ive ordered various egg dishes here in the past and those have all been good, so next time Ill be sure to skip the salad. Great outdoor patio!

This is the "sister restaurant" of Liberty Tavern. Although this location (two blocks from LT) does not do a brunch buffet, their twists on al la carte brunch make up for it. Another perk is the fact that we didnt have to wait; in fact, the LT hostess called Lyon Hall to reserve us a table when LT was booked solid. The daily fresh donut app sounded too risky for some of our tastes (tarragon was one of the donut flavors...) Bacon was under cooked. Lyonnaise Potatoes were a little too salty. Pulled Pork Poached Eggs and Muesli were fantastic. Its a meat and potatoes place done pretty well. Oh, did I mention no wait for 11 am Sunday Arlington brunch! I dont know if we caught them on a slow day or if they are just efficient.

GO, GO, GO! I only have two comments that are not 5 stars. If you show up off-hours, the bar service may be slow. They are also somewhat heavy on the salt (which I love). Otherwise, the staff is so gracious, generous and knowledgeable. Ive tried about 1/3 of the menu so far and it is TOP NOTCH. Mussels, cheeses, steak frites, salmon, Brussel sprouts....You cant ask for better ingredients or flavor. Ive been for two birthday celebrations in one week, including my own If they even hear you talk about a birthday, without directly telling them, they are very generous with an extra appetizer, dessert or glass of wine. Lyon Hall was perfect for our lively Saturday night friends get-together. Our group doesnt see each other often, so we value conversation, but also tend to be a little boisterous. We were able to carry on conversations with each other, but never felt out of place when things got a little loud. There were menu options that suited everyone, from our simple burger eating friend to the more adventurous types who enjoyed the french flair of some of the dishes. The appetizer and side options also worked out well for a pair in our group who had eaten a late lunch and werent super hungry. Would go again!

Service was c rated. To be told that this place is a top ten for brunch is a understatement. I work in the restaurant business and I expected way more from the employees here. I didnt know my servers name the entire time. Also I had to send something as simple as a omelet and bacon back. How is it that the bacon is undercooked while the rest of my tables is cooked thoroughly. The omelet was runny and it was like they skimped on the fixings. When they brought back the new one it was perfect. Should have been that way the first time.

I was here for restaurant week the other day and loved my meal. I had three courses, tuna tartar, pork schnitzel and creme brulee. The tuna was perfect size and very fresh. The schnitzel was a fair portion and was very tasty. The creme brulee was alright. Not the best I have ever had but not a bad choice. The staff was average, the waiter seemed very excited about serving us which was nice to see. The facility was clean. I will definitely come back as this restaurants food surpasses many of the other restaurants in the area.

Just a couple blocks away from the Clarendon corridor, Lyon Hall mussels pot are as close to Brussels as anywhere in the city. The Pho Lyon mussels have just the right amount of curry sauce and Pho noodles are perfectly mixed in with the broth. While its not normally the part to be reviewed, the in-house baked bread is better than any of the starters. The olive bread, the sourdough with salt, and the perfectly doughy baguette are the perfect complements to dip into the leftover sauce from the mussels.
