Came in for Sunday brunch. The interior is decorated in a "rustic cabin" theme, but the food is not necessarily rustic. We tried the scotch egg as an app. It was a perfectly cooked egg, but for $9, I felt like one egg cut in half was a little obscene. Also, coffee was almost $4, and it was okay, but not a four dollar cup of coffee okay. For our meals we tried the Duck hash, which cane in an 8" cast iron skillet (you can see in the pics) and the original Eggs Benedict. Both were pretty tasty & filling sized meals. The outdoor area has seating & is dog friendly, so you can being your 4 legged friend along. Just one note about indoor seating, the "bench side" of the tables is super high & you can barely squeeze into the space, even for smaller people its a squeeze. Overall $50 on a Sunday brunch for 2 felt a little much for the product theyre selling.

I hate leaving this place a poor review but this is purely based on the quality of the food. The service was great and accommodating. We visited during happy hour and had some drinks, oysters and appetizers. Id avoid the grilled oysters as it tasted like eating oily bread crumbs. The mushroom crostini was overwhelmed by the balsamic glaze, leaving a taste of vinegar and nothing of the mushrooms. The drinks were sub-par, as drinking a whisky cocktail from a martini glass seemed odd, with the flavor of the puree drowning out the essence of the liquor. Finally, a price tag of $30+ per person, during happy hour, for a drink and appetizers leaves you wondering if youve just been scammed. I really wanted to like this place but there wasnt a single part of the meal I enjoyed.

Im happy that theres now a place in Shirlington that has a good selection of whiskey, but Id love it if they had food that was better than Bungalows! I was there with four friends and nothing we got was anything better than bargain basement pub food, but the prices left us feeling a bit robbed. We ordered sliders, they have three different kinds. I was really up for some good sliders so I tasted one of each. These were the driest and most overcooked meat products Ive ever tried. The salmon my friend got was also overcooked. That seemed to be a theme for the food. The fries.....actually the fries were good...crispy and just perfectly salted. Overall, Id go back to meet friends and drink more whiskey, but I wouldnt eat there again.

I have been here twice once for brunch with friends and everything was great. Good service and awesome locally sourced food. A little expensive but this is a relative. The second time was horrible. My wife and I stopped in for a late supper about 9 pm on Saturday. It wasnt super busy but our waiter took forever 15 plus minutes to acknowledge us and take our order. If it wasnt a Saturday evening and we where right there we would have left because of that. Things went downhill from there as far as service went. We saw our waiter at the bar flirting with the bartender and we had to stop another server to get drink refills. The food was probably just as good but the experience was so horrible it colored the visit.

I first went to Copperwood a long time ago around when they opened. My memory of that event was "meh nothing good or bad to say just meh." Then I went back at some point either because they had a special event, I was meeting another friend, or maybe I just forgot the Meh! Ever since then it has been our go to place in Shirlington especially for Happy Hour but also as a dependable place to bring a group for drinks, late night snacking, or a weekend brunch. Weve never been disappointed, and when mistakes have happened (like the wrong drink arriving) the server and managers handled it very well. In fact, writing this is making want to go eat there right now!!!

Decided to stop in here on a Friday night with a four friends. Was pretty crowded but the hostess took my phone number and texted me 30 min later to say our table was ready. Had a few tasty drinks in the bar area while we waited, and greatly enjoyed the apple pie moonshine. Instead of buying separate entrees, we all decided to essentially order items from the "small bites" and "shared sides" menus to split and loved most all of it. The Bison Meatballs, Tuffled Mac, and House Garlic-Parsley Frites really stood out. Service was great, seating was comfortable. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed it very much! My Valentine took me there for dinner. The exposed beam decor immediately put me at ease. But the menu really entertained- Lots of creativity in it. Luv a good drink menu! We ordered a total of 8 different drinks, small bites and shared sides. All but one really stood out. Particularly enjoyed my drink the Catalyst with moonshine and pear. For dinner, I could easily easily have gotten by with just the brussel sprouts and truffle mac. Super savory! Service was very good as well. Will go back.

Ive been to Copperwood once for brunch and twice for dinner, and all 3 trips were excellent. Great service, nice cozy atmosphere, and the food is delicious. The drinks are a little pricey, but very good as well. On the most recent trip I ordered the venison strip and my girlfriend ordered the duck breast. Both were cooked perfectly, and full of flavor. My only complaint is that they did not cut the bottoms off of the Brussels sprouts , but they still tasted great. Will definitely be back.

We had the crab cakes and buttered chicken. It looked so delicious (and it absolutely was), that we forgot to take pictures. Fortunately I constantly reminded myself (and forced my husband) NOT to take a bite of the dessert until I took a picture. We had the Chocolate Trio, which was also super delicious! Not only was the food great, but the staff was wonderful too. And as a plus to all this, most of their stuff is house made, and they support local farmers. Definitely coming back soon!

First the bad. Ordered the duck and was very disappointed. It was not seasoned and very rubbery which is weird because it was cooked to medium. The mac was good. Porkchop was a hair salty but very good. The brussel sprouts were the best thing we ordered! Flat out amazing. Id go there for the brussel sprouts and beer selection! The appearance is really good. They just need to work the items on the menu over. This place has a lot of room for improvement.

Let me start by saying that the staff is nice and the atmosphere is as well, but the food is bland and overall disappointing. I had a burger that was supposed to be medium and was instead so dry I could barely stomach a few bites. My wifes chicken tasted like they took chicken breast and pan fried it with nothing, no salt, no spices, nothing. The French onion soup is bland with no taste of anything you would expect. We certainly wont be back.

staff was friendly, courteous & attentive. my friend was late for our lunch for 2 hours due to a traffic accident, so the bartender treated me to a lemonade! but, my duck confit hash was mostly potato chunks; i had to dig & scrape for the little shreds of duck. the two poached eggs kept me from starving. my friends crabcake benedict, had a bit more meat but was bland, like the fried green tomatoes.
