Real deal Sichuan food made by a family from Chengdu who take great pride in their food and will be happy to share suggestions based on your preferences. If you order an Americanized dish, like Kung Pao chicken, you will get a perfectly good but unremarkable Americanized Chinese dish. If, however, you are looking for traditional food cooked with lots of garlic, spices, and those gorgeous sichuan peppercorns that make your tongue go a little numb, make sure to ask for Sichuan style, or house specialities. You have never had MaPo Tofu if you havent had it here. You can smell the pungent, citrusy pepper before the dish hits the table. The eggplant with ground pork will make you ask where its been all your life - 3 whole Asian eggplants, fried lightly crispy and fork-tender, are doused in an addictive and umami-packed pork sauce. Baby bokchoy are poached or steamed so theyre still crunchy, and served ladled over with an intense but very light and thin chunky garlic sauce that will convert even the most reluctant diner. And the boiled fish, sichuan style, mentioned in other reviews is absolutely the most amazing fish dish youll ever eat. People who never order fish will steal chunks out of your bowl - and wont even feel guilty, because its so good. Spicy and with the numbing pepper, but not ridiculously so, the tender fish floats in a deep red broth that will have you asking for more rice too sop it up even after youre full. In summary, if you want good regular old Chinese food, this is a solid option. But its also one of just two restaurants in the DC metro area weve found that offer an authentic menu of dishes youd see being prepared on various travel programs about Sichuan. And the service is always warm and friendly, and its a great value. Portions are enough for two to share, including vegetable sides, so one main and one veggie will do you fine unless you want leftovers... Which we usually do because its so good! Tonight we ordered the eggplant, bok choy, and ma po, with water, hot tea and soda out came to $35 before tip, and we took home enough to make a nice breakfast for one of us. Go!

This Friday (10/21/16) my wife and I were exhausted looking for apt in the nearby neighborhood. We got here by chance and ordered a lunch special (fish) for her and authentic noodle soup with lamb for me. Both tasted great. The lady also complemented us with free side dishes. The same afternoon after Lerner Morningside wasted us three hours we had to use the Internet ASAP to get information for other choices. We returned here and the lady kindly allowed us to take a table to use WiFi. We will definitely come again.

Located in the Grand Mart plaza, this is an authentic Szechuan restaurant that offers wonderful dishes. I am a huge fan of their lo mein noodles, their crispy Fried Wontons, and their Hot & Sour Soup. They offer both dine-in and carry-out, and the staff are lovely and wonderful! Look for their menus that are delivered to the residential areas i in the vicinity - they also offer coupons and free apps/entrees! Parking is plentiful as well.

ROACH IN FOOD: I ordered chicken and broccoli with fried rice, kung pao chicken, and two spring rolls. The food arrived fast making my fiance question if it was already done and they just warmed it up. I thought nothing of it since they are always pretty fast. When I went to take a second bite of the chicken and broccoli dish I discovered a dead roach in it. Im disgusted and sick to my stomach.

I had a great experience at first. I noticed both times the prices they tell you is more than what is listed in the flyers. Their pricing is inconsistent. The delivery lady was award and weird. She was very loud in the lobby and she was upset about getting 10% for her tip. There were no napkins, forks, and the food was ok. She will watch you sign it and hold the paper for you

WARNING - do not order from these people. They put ground pork in all their vegetable dishes, and even though my 25-years a vegetarian wife specifically asked about their Ma Po Tofu being vegetarian, they assured her it was. We only learned about the pork in every dish policy when I called back to complain; unbelievably stupid. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.

I ordered take out from this place this week and I had gastrointestinal issues for about 48 hours after eating the meal. This was not normal indigestion from spicy or exotic food. There was something seriously wrong with the dish that they served me. I recommend that you dont eat here because I wouldnt want you to get sick like I did.

Ask for the Chinese menu. This place used to be fantastic. However now it seems they are skimping on freshness and quality. Came there near closing time. The cooking staff seemed more interested in consuming their soup meal on the table than making a quality meal for us. Fish wasnt fresh tasting.

Great Chinese food with authentic dishes. Friendly, quick service. Not cheap, but decently priced good food. You will definitely find local Chinese people eating here. Also, they would not order the braised fish because the fish had were too small for the dish, so they recommended something else.

Excelente restaurante chino. Un menu muy completo y delicioso. La atención muy amigable. Recomiendo el plato Mongolian Beef.

The Sichuan dishes that we had were just like ones that we had in China--shredded pork and dried tofu, boiled fish (what a boring name for delicate fish swimming in spicy Sichuan oil) and pork and pickled mustard greens soup. Reasonably priced with tons of leftovers.

一家人从北卡来,无意中找到这家店吃晚饭。点了水煮鱼,夫妻肺片,香干肉丝和蒜蓉青菜,味道很地道,服务也好。

The service is fine. But the dishes are not authentic Chinese at all. If you are finding Chinese food, change to another restaurant. I ordered a Huiguo pork. The meat was so tough I couldnt even chew it. Terrible.

This is the second time I order from this restaurant and both times were not good. After the first time I tried to give it a second chance so I ordered again and not happy with my order. Not coming back.

I ordered food here and the girl at the counter was super rude. The place is super empty and we were the only two customers now we know why... lets hope the food is better than the service

The Dandan noodles were delicious and authentic, if a little thin. I would recommend take-out, rather than dining in. The place is pretty dead, the otherwise bar doesnt have stools.

We love the spicy chinese food at this restaurant. Theyve got generous portions and the food is always fresh. The "干锅牛柳“ (spicy shredded beef) is especially good.
