As they say, All good things must come to an end. What once was my favorite place to eat for lunch and dinner has slowly begun to disappoint me. Ive supported Misery through its evolution, having spent into the thousands $$ at this established, Ive dealt with it changing its "find a chair" style, to a sit down restaurant. Recently discovering they no longer serve lunch... I was ever more disappointed. Where can I get my big reds? So I decided to go to dinner to get the once phenomenal Fried Chicken. Had a decent dinner, the chicken was dry and over salted. The potato salad was the best I ever had. If memory serves me (and sometimes it does not), you used to get two sides with the meal (albeit it was $3 more in the past to get the two sides). Now, you do not receive any sides. Having been a loyal customer at Misery since its inception, it saddens me to say that its pretentiousness has gotten the best of it. No longer will be I be visiting Misery.

I have been here a few times and, overall, this place is great and probably worthy of 5 stars. However, I knock it down simply because the sides are very creative (as is the whole menu) but somewhat lacking (such as the charred carrots). Now... on to the good stuff... THE FRIED CHICKEN DINNER is amazing! The chicken is very crispy and flavorful while the large pieces of chicken are served with honey butter and 2 sides for $35. The sweet potato pasta appetizer was also great with a creamy savory sauce which complimented the slightly sweet al dente noodles perfectly. Also creative and good was the roasted brussel sprout appetizer served with pickled vegetables. Pretty good and interesting... "yes" but not a great app. Their beer/cocktail selection is also on point so it is definitely worth it to add a beverage to your meal.

just so good. we dropped in for a light bite in downtown Winooski. was not prepared to have such innovative and thoughtful attention to the three little sharing plates we ordered. the gazpacho was on point. the smoked swordfish was a welcome note to this standard summer soup. the roasted eggplant was perfect. the skin was blackened and carmalized. never have I enjoyed this veggie more. the star for me was the casserole of veggies and cheese. lots of flowers and berries lent the presentation a whimsical beauty. however, everything on the plate seemed to serve a good purpose. nothing was superfluous. staff were inviting, helpful, and gracious. atmosphere was chill but not dead 5pm Tuesday. good place to be happy or miserable.

My partner and I went to nearby Winooski Circle so I wouldnt have to drive too far in the cold and snow. The two restaurants we like there (Tiny Thai and Our House) were full so we went to a third, Misery Loves Co. This is one of those grossly over-priced, under-portioned, farm-to-table trendy spots staffed by hipsters. The food was mostly excellent (their vegetables were, however, in turn undercooked and over-cooked and near rancid) and the drinks were too clever and over priced and the ambient music (at one point, Van Halen?!) was God-awful. But on the "up" side, it only cost me $ 122.00 (with tip) for dinner, drinks and dessert. Happy St. Valentines Day. (Misery Loves Co., indeed.)

we went for a ride though upper vermont and were looking for a place for lunch, so we yelped several opportunities in winooski and found out that they were pretty much on the same row and we settled on misery....it is not!!! great we ate at the bar, mitchell was a great bartender and info provider, food was very different, softshell crab with dandelion capers, i had the croque madame and wife had the vegetable hash which she loved....small place where you can easily watch the cooks and enjoy a cocktail different or made of spirits you have not seen before (or in my case, perhaps never heard of!!!) great!!!!

Had eaten here for lunch (is also great), but not dinner....last night a friend and I were taking out another pal for her birthday treat....and what a TREAT!!!....everything was perfect, the wait staff very attentive, the food out of this world....beware, this is NOT the usual fare (even the cocktails, desserts), need to go with an open mind, I even needed to look up a few words.....BUT if youre looking for something out of the ordinary, this is the place for you...I highly recommend.

Best restaurant in Vermont... possibly the entire Northeast region. Unique menu that offers new eclectic dishes each day. Casual atmosphere that has outdoor sidewalk-seating in the warmer months. The chefs in their kitchen obviously love the art of cooking. Playful experimentation with fresh herbs, sauces, and spices. If you love exciting recipes that are built upon a comfort food foundation, try this wonderful eatery.

This is the best high-end restaurant in the area, yet its actually cool and casual. Love this place. The menu changes frequently, the happy hour drinks are awesome and the staff is surprisingly friendly for such a hip place. I love bringing out of town guests here to show that VT has the same culinary hot spots as the big cities. Our Chicago friends love it. Bring back the bobby fries!

Very good, local fresh ingredients. Yum. Good coffee. I had the croque madam and it was very good but two eggs would have been preferred. The lady had the vegetable hash that she was extremely happy with. How do I know ow you ask? Cause she shared very little of it haha JK she was gracious. Also, very friendly staff. Definitely will return next time Im around

This place is one of, if not the, best restaurant in the Burlington area. The food here is on an almost entirely different level, from their crudo, charcuterie, and cheese plates - to their heavier main fares such as hangar steaks, fried chicken, and pork chops. The only negative I have about this place is that their cocktails tend to be too acidic.

The fact that we didnt get seated for our 8pm reservation until 9:15 could have ruined our evening, but the bartender and server (and a free appetizer and free dessert) helped to make up for that. Food was good, atmosphere was nice, and music was excellent. Still, as a Winooski local its not my first pick in town. I miss the food truck and bakery!

Just an amazing place! The staff is eager to please. The food as well as their cocktails are made with ingredients local and often organic. Upon closer examination youll notice the care everyone places in to the food and the facilities. I often note it as a laid-back Hen of the Wood for comparison. The Bloody Mary is a must for brunch!

Absolutely loved this place. Very accommodating to every dietary need. They love to customize their creations to meet your needs; the chefs love the creative challenge. My wifes has sensitivities to gluten, dairy and fat and they created exactly what she needed and she loved it!

Recovery bike ride to happy hour at MLC...oysters, fried oyster ssam, fries, and MLCs shandy. Perfect Saturday afternoon nourishment. Each trip to VT requires an MLC stop. Thanks, all, for the passion and joy you put into your food and drink (MLCs own Pimms??? really?!?!).

Some of the most creative and interesting dishes in the Burlington area, with a great wine list. Can share lots of small plates or enjoy full sized entrees. If you enjoy mixed drinks they have a very extensive and interesting cocktail list.
