Well...after 15 years I guess my Country Pizza days are over. No doubt they have the best food in the area. I always struggled with the pizza vs. grinders decision there as they are both so good. Today I ordered 8 grinders for my group at work. I ordered 8, they rang up 8, and I got 7. I would have counted them before leaving but they boxed them up all nicey nice and taped the box close. Figured it must be good and went on my way. Got to work and there were only 7. No big deal, call them up and explain one is missing and the lady apologizes and said will cook up the replacement. A minute later the cook calls me back and tells me I must have miscounted and wont even hear that he may have made a mistake. Really ? I would have really liked to argue with him at length about it, but it was really busy at work and I had a crowd around me asking questions. I told the cook never mind, Im not going to argue about it and hung up. Turns out what they did was mislabel one of the sandwiches and shorted us another one. Too bad...Im going to miss getting their pizza for our monthly pizza lunches at work. Guess we will be looking for a new place to try. Honest mistakes happen...just fix the problem !! Unreal.

Thanks to my felllow maps guide Oppy below. I did not know it was Greek style pizza but it was good. it wasnt outrageously delicious but it was good! Sicker than most sizes but it had an ovenbaked crisp to dough. Nice combo. Had one pinot grogio. Fresh glass to enjoy ambience. It was nice to have a conversation with Mary. a kind person and works hard there. I am sure to swing by and say hello if I am back in that neighborhood. Its a kind of place! Cash is preferred but they do take cards so dont run away when you see the sign The icing: they have an ice cream freezer too! Cookie sam to go? I Think SO!

Undoubtedly the BEST pizza in Monroe. The flavor and crispiness of the crust if perfect, the sauce is perfect, its just all around a great pie. Its not cheap though, and sadly, they dont deliver, but the pizza is so good, its worth it to drive down and pick it up yourself! The only thing Ive had there besides pizza is the tortellini alfredo, and it was absolutely amazing! The sauce is so creamy, and the portion is huge! I always have leftovers to bring home.

Country Pizza is an hour away from us now but sometimes we make an excuse to go to Monroe just for this pizza. In 30 years I havent found better. The flavor and texture of the crust, their sauce, the quality of ingredients and Andys passion all comes together to make a masterpiece. Its not a cheap pizza but its a huge, hearty pizza packed with great taste.

The grinders are awesome. I like the sausage and meatball that comes with roasted red peppers and mozz cheese. They have pitchers of Sam Adams for 8.50 and its a damn good size pitcher, none of those sports bar sized. My girlfriend and I love going there, the staff is really friendly and they show they really care about making you happy. BEST PLACE EVER!!

My experience here was okay. They dont really have a lunch special like for example 2 slices and a drink for x amount of money. I had pizza, it was ok. I probably try something else next time. I wasnt very happy with the owner jump on and off the seat right in back of me doing inventory. But might come again.

Probably the best Pizza in Monroe and Trumbull, a truly unique style for Connecticut. The crust is thicker and heartier, almost chicagoian, with rich sauce and bountiful topping selections. Either enjoy it as takeout or sitting down in a comfortable laid-back dining room.

Good place for pickup, not so much to eat in. They have traditional Greek style pizza alongside other Greek and Italian menu options, and the quality is pretty good. However, on the couple of occasions that I ate at the restaurant itself the service was rather slow.

Ive had better offerings from Country in the past. Not tonight. Usually very good greek style pizza. Im prefer a gyro selection to have lamb as a choice for meat. Beef was not to my liking.

Good food and service, however dont go there if you are in a rush, even a little over. While the wait staff is friendly they are almost always understaffed. Pizza is best in that area.

cold beer. friendly waitress. fresh sald. delicious cavatelle. but rancid pesto and dirty tables. one more try this week... since the grinders are so famous... beware of the pesto.
