We came here to enjoy a breakfast, not knowing much about dutch pancakes. We wanted to try something new. The staff was not friendly, we were treated as if we were a burden rather than paying guests. We only asked two questions and were met with abrupt two word answers. Our coffee cups were dirty so leads me to wonder what the rest of the meal will be like. They do not allow for an easy way for substitutions. If you dont want to have an expensive breakfast, you should definately go somewhere else. It costs 3 dollars for one egg on the side and only provide one or two options for eggs on the side as part of a meal, none that include a Dutch pancake. If i got a dutch pancake, 2 eggs and bacon it would have costs over twenty dollars. I would recommended going somewhere else for better service, prices and quality.

After reading so many negative reviews, I went in prepared for a bad service. In a misogynistic world where women aged 40+ are deemed unemployable in a customer-facing setting, it was refreshing to see that both the restaurant employees were women aged 40+ (possibly older). I didnt receive any fake pleasantries such as "Hows your day so far?" or "Its an awesome weather outside" or "Have a wonderful day". I ordered the pineapple banana dutch pancake and received it within 10 minutes. The service was really good and I received the check as soon as I was done with the food. The pancakes were delicious and I have zero complaints about the service. It would be really nice if the fellow reviewers put themselves in the shoes of the restaurant employees for a few seconds before deploying the negative review torpedo.

I went to the Dutch Pancake Cafe this summer with my American host family. I am Dutch, so I was very excited when I saw that there was a Dutch pancake restaurant in Vermont. The waitress told me that the cooks have been to the Netherlands for a couple of weeks to learn how to make Dutch pancakes. The cooks did a great job on the pancakes, both the pancakes I ordered were delicious. They tasted like the ones here in the Netherlands. My American host family also said that they are differ from the American pancakes. There is also real stroop available on every table, which is the Dutch equivalent of maple syrup, which was really nice. As a Dutchman, I will recommend the Dutch Pancake Cafe in Stowe (VT), which is a big compliment for this restaurant.

Truly had the worst breakfast of my life. Should have gone with a basic pancake and syrup. However I went with the number 45 which was sausage eggs and cheese. The waitress brought the breakfast out and the first thought that came to my mind was "what a hot mess". It was a thick layer of cheddar cheese on the top of the eggs then below the eggs were sausage and following with the pancake on the bottom. It may have been decent if there was less cheese. I nearly vomited. If you think this review is a bit harsh go check out the number 45 for yourself. harsh then go check ouyourself you will be

We entered the restaurant and it was fairly empty. Drinks took 15 mins to receive. (Chocolate milks) we ordered our food and it took about 30 mins to receive our plates. The waitress never really checked in with us and the food was undercooked. I also ordered toast which never came but I was still charged for it. Thought this place was going to be a hidden gem but boy was I wrong. Honestly dont live in the area but I can promise I will never go back. Home fries undercooked. Pancakes are decent but just a poor experience. I wish I had read reviews before I went would have made a better choice.

Arrived to a fairly empty restaurant, only 3 or 4 tables were occupied. Coffee not nearly worth the $3.95 price tag - weak & tepid. Two dutch pancakes took over 40 minutes to come out and when they did, one of the orders was wrong. It almost felt like our waitress was avoiding checking on us, and never once stopped, despite trying to get her attention. Taste-wise, it was mediocre at best and SO not worth the money. During our time there we heard three other tables complain, either about their hour-long wait for food, or an order that was wrong. Well know to avoid this place next time!

This place used to be the best. But this time not so much. We got here around 9:00 and didnt get out food until 9:50.. The past 3 days we tried coming and could not be seated by any staff. When we got our food it was nothing special like it used to be. The "Dutch pancake" was not paper thin or thin at all. The bacon we ordered for well-done was burnt and the order we didnt order well-done was close to raw. Would suggest quite a few years ago. Wouldnt suggest now.

As a local, I used to frequent this place often but the service has gone downhill. It took an hour to get a simple breakfast that ran 40 dollars for a table of two. im seeing reviews that say the same. Never rest on you laurels...We wont be going back. They do not care, they have had a month to reply. If they cared theyd be responding the next day. Go to the gables, butler pantry, get and egg sandwich at the harvest market, last resort mccarthys

The food was great and you got a good amount. On the other hand the staff was very unfriendly, we were the only couple there and upon checking out the staff was whispering which was very obvious they were talking about us. When leaving more than a 15% tip, you could tell the waitress was not happy. I am Latino and my wife is African-American so of course I felt that they were a little prejudice and will not be returning to THAT restaurant.

Waited 2 hours to be served pancakes and eggs after we were seated. Rather than apologizing for their poor service they just blamed it on the fact that a large group came in. The food was good when it finally came. However. There is never a reason to take that long to serve pancakes. Clearly they dont know how to staff a kitchen. Another family walked out. Never going back.

Always a favorite spot when we visit Stowe. Theyll do half and half of the savory and sweet pancakes which is great when you cant make up your mind. Service is pretty slow - especially for a breakfast spot - but if youre not in a rush they are very friendly and pleasant even if food arrives at a glacial pace.

This place was terrible! It took way too long to get our food. The waitress was not attentive at all, other customers had to get up and refill there own coffees and had the courtesy to offer to refill other patrons cups. To top it off the food was also not good and the coffee was very bad. Dont go here!

A bit expensive but the Dutch style pancakes are worth it. I got the potato, cheese and onion pancake with sour cream and applesauce, which was perfection. Perfect for families or couples. A mix between hearty options and sweet options, and more traditional American fare if you are looking for that.
