The food is decent and the waitstaff has been pleasant the handful of times Ive been in. BUT...Orders in the past have always been incomplete or just completely wrong. (For example ordering a Caesar salad with chicken and getting a house salad with honey mustard instead of dressing.) This morning when we decided to get breakfast take out, we called and no one answered. Theyre usually very busy so we waited a few minutes and then called again. An angry man answered and informed us that they were closed. We had checked the hours on google and it said they were open so out of confusion I said "Oh, youre closed? Ok." And the angry man then said "Weve been closed every Monday for 12 years!" Well... how about you drop your attitude and treat your potential customer with mild decency. I apologize for not memorizing your hours, I assumed that by 2016 youd have figured out how to edit your hours on google. My mistake. Id say next time Ill do I drive by to make sure youre open before calling but there wont be a next time for us. Its a shame because there arent very many options in this small town but Id rather go without than deal with this mans attitude before Ive had my coffee.

Ive come in consistently over the years today was the worst experience to date. After waiting 20 minutes we ordered lunch. Ten minutes later Our waitress informed me that the item i ordered was unavailable so I ordered a burger medium rare. Moments later My friends food came out. She ate by herself while I waited for mine. when my burger arrived It was well done and greasy. I could Not get the waitresses attention as she spastically moved around the restaurant (there was one other table). When I showed her that my burger was well done she apologized and said that "usually when someone orders a burger well done the cook just microwaves it". I was charged full price for an uneaten meal and when I told her that she wasnt getting a good tip because my food was terrible she told me that she couldnt take food off the bill. she walked away while I was mid-sentence. She would not even speak to me. I understand that she is the manager. She was extremely unprofessional and acted childish. VERY DISAPPONTED!

I saw one negative review and a couple so-so reviews among a sea of glowing reviews, so I gave it a shot. I am so very glad I did. The apple-walnut pancakes were amazing. Chunks of apples, tons of walnuts, and then a pancake that was light and fluffy. Unlike some places that think Aunt Jemima-type syrups are okay to serve, I was delighted when the pancakes came out with real maple syrup, though by themselves they were fine. Maple just added that touch of perfection. Others at the table had the Eggs Benedict and loved it. They certainly dont skimp on the Hollandaise sauce. Breakfast for three came to $37 with coffees and juices, so prices are more than fair too. Ill certainly be back.

Great place for breakfast / brunch if you can get a table. Would definitely recommend calling ahead on weekends and holidays. Plenty of room for large groups and comfy booths for the family. Good coffee and superb bakery items. Food is well prepared and what you would expect from a good diner. They also have a decent beer selection if your there for lunch or dinner. One star off is for the wait staff. They are always courteous and helpful but keeping your coffee or drinks filled is just not a priority.

Off beaten path - but very nice and fancy menu. For starter you get onion fochacia bread , We had portabella with goat cheese. -very tasty Sea food chowder and French onion- both very fresh and not salty ( as many other joints abuse salt ) Diner salad is significant portion Fruti di mare - nice set up and creamy taste. Fried haddock with fries - very fresh fish!! Baked haddock - very fluffy If you in Smuggs area definitely make this joint as one of dinner stop - highly recombined

Terrible terrible. We came all the way from NY and ordered a pizza. Drove five miles to pick it up. The pizza had burns on the top of it. When we got to our log, started to try the pizza the bottom of the pizza was black filled with ash and black. Because we drove so far and it was raining hard I didnt bring it back. But I would definitely bring it back!! People this was the most disgusting and disappointing pizza. I would give them (negativesssss). I wish I could add pics!!

My husband and I went to meet friends for breakfast this morning. I had the western omelette, rye toast, and coffee. The omelette was full of ham and peppers. The ham was cut thicker which was great. The home fries were seasoned nicely and the toast was yummy and buttered. I even had my choice of jelly. My husband had this grilled maple bread. It was seared nicely and a generous portion. Everyone enjoyed their food and the service was great! We would definitely be back!

If your kind of in a hurry DO NOT HAVE LUNCH HERE!We waited 40 minutes and I heard the lady in the booth behind us state they were waiting 1 hour. Food was ok when we got it. I thought I was ordering a hamburg with shitocki mushrooms but I got a large Mushroom with Swiss cheese which I did order but again no meat. It was listed under burgers. Guess I did not understand. Waitress never informed us or appologized for our wait. Wifes open turkey sandwich she liked.

We ate here for dinner while staying as Smugglers Notch. Its the summer so I understand, but there were a bunch of flies. My wife didnt like that. She had a burger which she enjoyed, and I had the Scallop Dinner. Our son had the chicken tenders. All the food was very good. The service also was very good. We would would recommend it, but the fly situation needs to be addressed.

You can judge a restaurant in Vermont by its pancake toppings. A great restaurant gives you maple syrup. A good one asks and charges extra for syrup. An mediocre one gives you the fake sugar kind. You can guess which is offered here. Cheap, pretty non-descript breakfast. Great homefries. Super touristy. Great service. Hard to get a table after 10:00 am on a Sunday.

Love this place! We stop in for breakfast and are always happy- with the food, the service, the atmosphere. The staff is always friendly, even when theyre slammed. The food is well-prepared, good portions, and, best of all, none of the trendy sh@&*t that seems to be everywhere. Just give me a good biscuit and gravy- and theirs is the best around.

This was the first place we ate when we got to Smugglers, and over the course of two days we satisfied our hunger at this succulent establishment no less than three times. The food is off the chain, and the atmosphere is delectable. My family is headed north to Canada for a wedding and we are going well out of our way to stop here.

Great bread, good food but not much flavor. The turkey and gravy is good but not great. The lettuce wraps were delicious but served with escarole which looses the crispness. Limited options in the area and good for where you are. The morning pastries sounded delicious and might be worth a try. Staff super nice!
