This restaurant just opened, and I believe they were busier than they could handle. Kinks need to be worked out, and I completely understand that. I can be patient until then, but last nights customer service experience was just awful. We walked into the restaurant and just stood there for about 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. The lady at the front desk was trying to help a to go order pay for their food and it was taking a while. When we finally got seated, the waitress took our order and brought us our drinks. So far, so good. We then waited a whole 45 minutes for our food to come, and not once did the waitress come over and speak to us - no drink refills, no "Im sorry for the long wait," nothing. When we tracked her down and asked her about an update on our order, she reacted like she was annoyed by our questions and told us she would check (again, I totally understand that they were overwhelmed, and she was probably just frustrated). We immediately got our food and my plate was cold and food was lukewarm. Of course when it came time to get the check our waitress was right on it. We stood in line for 10 minutes before the hostess asked if anyone was paying cash. We then paid very quickly and left. I am disappointed with my experience. While I dont really care about the long wait times, the customer service leaves me not wanting to come back. Customers would be much more forgiving if we just had a little communication and then werent greeted with annoyance. Hopefully it will be better after a few weeks, and the hype has calmed down.

Taylorsville location customer service is horrible!!! I placed a pick up order, pick time was 7:35. In addition it took me 8 calls to get through, the phone just rang and rang and said no voicemail was set up at this number. I got there at 7:38, waited only to be told at 7:50 they were just making the food. While I was waiting another customer there was growing impatient as he was not welcomed when he came in. He asked me if he was supposed to seat himself or wait. I told him I think your supposed to wait, he just shook his head in frustration. Meanwhile the a line was forming to pay for your food and none of the people in line looked happy. I told the lady to cancel my order, she rushed back to the food pick up window, assuming to let the chef know not to make it. Certainly you wouldnt want to talk your customer into staying or apologizing for your mistakes. I spoke with the manager Lupe and she was very apologetic and let me know they are new and they had a lot of to go orders. It was just an awful experience to say the least. Hopefully in a month or two I will attempt to go back and hopefully things are better. Weve been waiting for what seems like forever for them to open up this location. I would wait a month or two before dining here, the frustration is high enough it may make you want to boycott La Puente all together. All there other locations are great, this one might just need a little more time.

There are many Mexican fast food places in the area and a cafe rio, all of which are much Much MUCH better. Not only was the food terrible but they messed up our order even though they wrote it correctly on the ticket (I asked for a bean and cheese burrito, they brought me a bean burrito with no cheese, I asked for a smothered breakfast burrito, they didnt smother it). They didnt offer any curtesy due to their mistakes even though the things they gave us were cheaper than what we paid for. They gauged us by adding things we didnt ask for. Honestly, just go somewhere else. I decided that I would rather try and make my own burritos at home and Im a terrible chef, but burnt burrito at home would be better than rip off burrito at a restaurant. After eating there, I feel like I just got drugged and forced to pay for an outing with an ugly and overweight prostitute.

If zero stars was option they would get it. Normally we love La Puente chili verde. We normally go to the south Salt Lake location but decided to try this one because it was closer to home. Big mistake. We ordered it to go. It took much longer for them to get it ready than they said it would but the biggest problem was the taste and quality of the food. The taste was extremely bland. There were only 2 small pieces of pork in each burrito. We ordered it with cheese and onions but there was very little cheese and only a tiny bit of onion. It certainly does not measure up to other locations and I doubt they will be in business much longer if this is what they serve every day. We will never return to this location. I would highly recommend driving to another location if you are craving good Mexican food.

Initially, we asked for a booth and they said they didnt have one. We started walking over to the table, right next to the table there was an open booth. When we asked to sit at that booth, that was cleaned and prepped, the guy gave us attitude and acted super put out. Terrible service! Waited 20 minutes for drinks and then an hour just for our food! Then when they brought it out, one of the orders was definitely not what we even ordered (obviously we had to wait longer to fix that as well). Then they gave us a hand-written receipt? Overcharged us - got it fixed - but again a lot of attitude! It wasnt even busy either! Definitely WOULD NEVER eat there again! Food wasnt even that great anyway; very bland! I get that its new but obviously this business needs a lot of work!

I have only been to this location once since they opened. It is a newer building, and very clean inside. Service was quick and friendly. Same menu as the other locations. I plan on coming back here to try again, but as of now I have to give it 4 stars. The food was as expected looked great, smelled great. I just found my chicken enchilada was lacking some flavor. My little one (who loves Orange rice) barely ate any and said it didnt taste right. I tried it, and again seemed to lack flavor. I plan on trying again to make sure my tastes werent off. So we did come back 2 more times. He still finds it good. My little one wont eat the rice anymore. The tastes are a little different, so i think we might come here without the little one when we want to save time on driving.

Dont get me wrong, I love la puente. Its always been my favorite place and since theres a semi new one opened by my house, I talked my boyfriend into getting food to go. We came home and had the wrong food, I ordered a Chile Verde smothered burrito and somehow ended up with an enchilada with red sauce (I HATE red enchilada sauce). By the time we got home and saw that I got the wrong food, they were closing and didnt answer the phone. I ended up eating the rice that came with it and some of my boyfriends food because I was super hungry. Luckily I got some chips and salsa too. And to whoever got my burrito, I hope you enjoyed it. Most of your enchilada got thrown in the trash..
