I wish I could give this less than one star. DO NOT EVER GO HERE! EVER My girlfriend and I had such a terrible experience. We were seated way off in the back corner and left there alone. It took them forever to come over to even take our order. When we ordered, they brought my order out rather quickly, but I was always taught to wait and eat until after everyone had the table had their food. So, I waited. We waited a solid 40 minutes until they brought her order out, but it was the wrong roll. When we tried to explain this to the waitress, she argued with us that it was the right roll and then we asked to see the manager. The manager came back to us and told us "why not just try this roll" when it was not what she wanted. We insisted that they get us the right roll. At this time, I still had not eat my meal and now it was cold so I didnt plan to. We waited another 20 minutes before we stood up and went to walk out. We tried to explain to them that we had not eaten any of the food because we had yet to eat it, and yet I had to fork out money for the meal we didnt eat. There are plenty of great sushi places out there but this is not one of them. DO NOT GO HERE

This is our second experience at this location. The first time a few months ago was great. Sushi was delicious. Fast, friendly service. But not this time. It started off good. We got seated quickly and our waitress was friendly but that quickly changed. My husband and I both ordered 4 rolls each all the same except one roll. It took us a good 20 min to get just 1 roll each. We sat there and waited another 30 min before one of my rolls came out. Our waitress went from being friendly and attentive to not caring. Never came and checked on us or let us know what was going on. My husband went up to the owner who decided to pass him along to someone else to handle his complaint and the so called "manager" treated my husband as if he was stupid just rolling his eyes at him. After waiting over an hour we finally got our rolls but by that time we were just fed up and disgusted. Needless to say we just walked out without paying. Worst service we have ever had! I dont recommend this location

Sadly this place has gone down hill since its opening. First- the bathroom. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. It smells horrible and over the last year has gotten worse. You need to get the plumbing fixed. At our last visit your whole restaurant smelled of sewer. Its kind of hard to eat when the smell of sewer is so strong around you. Second, I cant eat deep fried anything. So, I asked to take out the tempura shrimp and substitute it with normal shrimp. I was charged $1. I am substituting one product, for the same product and you want to charge me a dollar for it? I could see if I was exchanging chicken for shrimp, but shrimp for shrimp? Come on! I am saving you money on batter and oil. Dont penalize me for it. Second, the food just isnt as good as it used to be. I ordered a roll with fish eggs on it and I had like 2 eggs per piece. We used to come a few times a month, but until they fix the plumbing we wont be back.

I definitely do not consider this high end sushi. Theres much better quality sushi at Tsunami or Takashi, but Ichiban is also a 50% off type of sushi place. So the rolls are typically between 5 and 8 dollars each instead of 8 to 12. So taking that into consideration, I feel comparing Ichiban to other equally priced establishments, its actually much better. They do have lighter rolls, which is often lacking from a lot of 50% off joints. They try to cover their poor sushi rolling skills and low grade fish with extra spicy mayo, cream cheese and fried tempura. Again, this is not top end sushi, but for the price, its not THAT bad...especially when compared to the equally priced competition. Service is mediocre and the establishment can probably use a deep clean though.

Not a bad spot, but giving it the rating because theres several other spots to hit in the Sandy/SLC area that I would recommend before this one. Service is good and fast. We got 4 rolls and miso soup. Miso was fine, and two of the rolls were good - not amazing or anything, but they were relatively simple rolls executed well. The other two, didnt really love as one was pretty void of flavor, and the other had what it called "crab meat" on the top that looked and tasted like imitation or something. In all, I wouldnt be closed off to eating here again, but if I had the choice theres a few other sushi spots Id hit nearby with good ratings.

Well, kind of a strange experience. Food was good as usual. (Although there is a socially awkward waiter who thinks he can talk with his eyes instead of his voice and always makes for an interesting encounter.) This particular visit, the restaurant decided to wash all the soy sauce bottles at once... during hours, so I got my sushi and had to sit and wait for soy sauce bottles to get washed. It took so long that eventually they handed me 2 soy sauce packets. Yes, 2. I still love this place, but, Im dining alone tonight and thought, "Why not waste my time leaving a review that isnt helpful or hurtful." There you have it. :)

Decnt sushi, other items on the menu were like deep fried everything which wasnt what i was expecting. We went on a friday night, it was super busy, not many tables to begin with, then were seated they didnt bring utinsels of any sort, they were "out of" cups. The waitress kept forgetting about us, forgetting the soup, forgetting the ice creM, all of our order items came out at different times sobwe couldnt start eating at the same time. I actually ended up being over charged and to top it off got food poisoning from cross contamination. Dont know really how to feel. Wont be going back though

WOW!! Where can you get a sushi roll for $2.50?? Not even at walmart can you get that kind of deal! Most sushi rolls at Ichiban are around $10 or so but the menu has a special page with a list of about 20 different sushi rolls. You can pick 2 sushi rolls out of this list plus you get soup or salad and that runs you $5 bucks!!!!!!! The "miso" soup is awesome!! Im so glad my wife and I didnt end up going to "Sushi Ya" which runs ya $20 per person plus an uneaten rice fee!!! We left completely full and happy. Here is what we got: -4 sushi rolls -4 egg rolls -2 waters $14.05 TOTAL!!! :D

Worst experience ever. I walked in and ordered take out. I waited in the lobby. 20 minutes later i inquired about my order. Apparently it was the order complete and sitting there for about 10 minutes. I ordered a naturo roll which Ive enjoyed other places. Theirs was covered in a creamy white sauce which was not in the description nor the picture. One thin about this place is they sauce everything, yuck! Also my sashimi salmon was prepared nagiri. Long story short they got everything wrong. Wont be back recommend you dont have any expectations if you go.
