Ive been here twice now. Its a large, wide open place. Black and white checkered tile floors, trendy floral wall paper, lounge area up front with big couches. Its all the wannabe, pretentiousness that someone who wants so badly to appear like they belong in New York but isnt quite pulling it off could ask for. Its not the most expensive joint by any means, but it isnt exactly the cost of a crap meal at Chilis either. The servers are all a little "Im too good for this job" but I sort of feel like thats exactly what Finca wants them to be. I want to like this place. Its different for Salt Lake. But with all the poshness of the ambiance, theyre lacking on the food side. The cocktails were average, (10 dollars for an Irish Coffee compared to 5 for a bloody Mary?), my favorite brunch item were the side of potatoes that come with almost every meal. But everything else could be had for cheaper and of better quality at The Wild Grape, Dodo, Stella, Copper Onion or another dozen close by locations. I really dont mean to be trashing this place. When I walked in I was sort of intrigued albeit sort of turned off. But it was just underwhelming is all. I say if your close by, give it a shot, you may love it. Otherwise save it for when your effeminate, interior decorating male cousin is in town from LA before trying this place out.

Terribly disappointed! We just left this restaurant after having an absolutely horrible dining experience. We went there exclusively for the paella. We waited our 40 minutes to receive it (to be fair, they do tell you it will take 30-40 minutes to prepare). But when it arrived it literally smelled like a campfire was in the middle of our table. It was so evident it had been badly burned but they tried to cover it up by mixing it in. In the picture, if you pay attention to the edges and actually in the paella itself--you can clearly see all of the burnt "stuff" they tried to hide by mixing it in. Needless to say, it also tasted like a campfire (not to mention how dry it was). When we asked our server if this was normal or not, he said he would go talk to the chef. What was incredibly disappointing was the message he relayed. He said (literally a direct quote) "the chef realizes this wasnt their best work but gave us their assurance they would TRY not to let this happen again in the future". Then he thanked us for coming in and gave us our bill. If a chef is okay with knowingly turning out this low quality of food, PLEASE save your money and go to one of their competitors. Or at least go to a restaurant where they care about the quality of the product they are delivering. -Brian Dixon

I attended a wedding reception there this past weekend. The food was scheduled to be served at 1:00. All guests were seated on time. The food was not served until 2:15. The restaurant was empty so we were confused as to why it took so long. For some reason the small plates ordered were not served to the party but were found in the hall outside the room cold as we were leaving. We had to ask several times for highchairs for the little ones. Some of our guests who were seated outside the main room were never served their food and requested a menu to reorder and pay again for their items. When this was brought to the attention of the manager upon leaving, he insisted that everyone was served until they produced a receipt showing they paid AGAIN. The manager was not professional toward the paying party or guests. Very disappointed! Do NOT recommend for large gatherings!

The wonderful potatoes and delicious food was not enough to make up for the poor service. Through most of the meal we were the only table in the restaurant. Our server Ceza was rude from the beginning. She was very standoffish when we asked questions about the menu and looked at us as if every question was the dumbest thing she had ever heard. She was blatantly disrespectful as we ordered and equally rude when she brought the food. After the meal she got upset at us when we asked to have our check split (we were a group of colleagues out for lunch). "I cant get to that now cause I have other tables, so youll just have to wait." We seriously feared that our food was going to be spat in. I spent 3 years as a server in my youth, and this was the first time in my life that I did not leave a tip. So put off by the service that I doubt Id ever return.

I really like the food here. Nearly everything is top notch. I really like the churros and drinks. I also like having a place that serves tasty tapas small plates for more variety. However, I find that the prices are a bit scattered, and the service can definitely be hit and miss. It has the potential to be great, and could benefit from more consistency. Im not sure how I feel about the seating arrangement still, as I like that it isnt any problem to get a table, but results in feeling crammed in and lacks the feeling of privacy I usually want at a fancier restaurant. Overall, it can be a great date night spot, or a mediocre one depending on the evening, but remains one of my favorite brunch locales.

Yumm Finca! We ventured out here on a business trip and Im glad we made the trek. The restaurant has very modern decor in which foodies will feel right at home. Although its clearly a foodie place, I didnt once feel that it was pretentious; the wait staff made us feel very welcome. We got a number of things but here are my favorites: Zanahoria de Asador (Wood grilled carrots) Absolutely bursting with smokey/sweet flavor, a must get. Paella - Great flavor and slow cooked to perfection (took 30 mins to prepare). The included chicken and shrimp were cooked perfectly as well. Manhattan (drink) - Probably the best drink I had my whole time in SLC. Ill definitely be coming back here next time Im in SLC.

Dont go this restaurant. The waitress very rude and the food so expensive that I paid. I ordered 1 Spanish ham, 1 salad and 1 steak. I was guess its good for 2 kids and me. But the food very small size and the eye rip had a lot of trans. If the waitress explained before, I ordered it more or choose other dishes. She kept no smile and any information their food for me. When I ordered any stake sauce, they told me no have it! And our steak just eat the steak without the sause. Becaus the steak had served only meet but I couldnt really enjoy it. It is my memories of the salt lake city is no good restaurant with my kids. I never been go there, the stake $78 without side and the waitress so rude.

One of the most beautiful spaces in Salt Lake. The staff is always warm and welcoming, the food is always great. Its all served family style, which I love because you get to try a little of everything! Its very vegetarian friendly, vegan friendly, gluten free friendly, for anyone who needs those things. The bartenders are all great, I love sitting at the bar and having a chat, and their cocktail and wine selection is exoansive- the servers and bartenders are all great at making drink suggestions for you! Whether in a large group or having an intimate meal with a friend, Ive always enjoyed my time here.
