I hate to leave negative reviews and comments but after our experience tonight I cant hold my tongue. Our family has been coming to Los Hermanos religiously for many many years and we have had good experiences until the last two times we have come here. I prefer to leave praise and positive comments so Ill start with those. The two stars I am giving are for our two waitresses who worked their butts off for us tonight. They werent perfect and we had to ask multiple times to get things we needed like silverware, napkins and things like this but that is understandable when there are only two of them serving our big group. They worked frantically to serve us and fix any mistakes and they even apologized when they made mistakes, unlike the hostess. It cant be easy for just two young ladies to serve a group of 18 people with split up orders and a busy restaurant but they just kept going up and down the stairs to take care of us. One missing star is for the hostess and the manager. We had a reservation set and even showed up 10 minutes early. 40 minutes after our reservation time I asked the hostess how much longer it would be. She looked down at her papers and then got a shocked look on her face and eventually admitted she had forgotten about us. I dont know how you forget about 18 people crammed into a small waiting area when you have to go around us dozens of times to do your job. We also talked with the manager who was very apologetic and finally got us seated but she was not to be seen again the whole night. Most restaurants I go to if there is a problem the managers bend over backwards to make it right and come check on you to make sure it is taken care of. Not so much here. If they were short staffed I can understand that and am very patient with that but the manager should have helped our poor waitresses out. The glare and turned back from the hostess as we left was just the icing on the cake, as if it were our fault they had forgotten about us and our reservation. Another missing star is for the bland food. We have eaten at Los Hermanos so many times we know they can have good food but the food tonight was small portions, very bland seasoned dry meat and they have changed their chips and its not an improvement. The last missing star is for the condition of the restaurant overall. Starting from the disgusting dirty carpets that are so dirty that my feet and the feet of my chair would stick to it. Every chair in our group was broken, wobbly and falling apart and there were three more extra chairs in our room including broken chair parts lying around on the floor. The tables were mis-matched, wobbly and had dirty sticky tops even after we had to request they be washed off because there was still food on them from the last group. The dishes are chipped, cracked, scratched and mismatched so bad it looks very unsanitary and unprofessional. On our way out of the restaurant the kitchen door opened and after seeing the disgusting condition of the kitchen I wish I wouldnt have eaten any food there tonight. I would suggest to Los Hermanos that they invest a bit of money in the upkeep of their restaurant and food serving supplies. After tonights disaster of a dining experience or faithful Los Hermanos going family all decided we will not be back unless they make some drastic changes. They are always busy and if they cant invest some money to make the restaurant a cleaner and nicer experience then they will continue to lose customers. Its sad to see a family favorite fall apart and turn into something an easy going family like mine now refuses to eat at.

Feeling disappointed because I thought Id heard of a lot of people liking This place :( . Went for my first time last week for lunch. The waitress brought salsa and chips after we ordered (I kind of like eating chips and salsa while I decide what to get but no bid deal). The salsa tasted like a can of crushed tomatoes--no flavor. Chips looked like they came from the bottom of the bag--all crushed up. The waitress slopped the salsa over the edge when she set it down so it got on the table.. I dont think she noticed because a few minutes later she threw our straws down right in the pile of salsa. Silverware and napkins were hastily put together. I asked for more napkins because I had to use mine to mop up the salsa and clean up the straws. I ordered the famous specialty drink -- really yummy! I also ordered the seafood enchiladas-- not so yummy. Looked like it was stuffed with shredded imitation crab meat and it had red enchilada sauce instead of the white creamy kind that usually goes on seafood enchiladas. I probably should have looked closer at the menu and maybe I would have noticed and ordered something else. But it did not taste good at all. Even my husband who will eat anything said it was gross. My husband did like his smothered burrito. MIL didnt like that the chili verde something or other that she ordered only came with meat and tortillas--no shredded lettuce or tomato to put on it. Granma got the chili relleno and said it was a little too salty for her. The Spanish rice was pretty good but the refried beans werent spectacular. Had to ask again for more napkins at this point because the waitress forgot to bring them. Also felt a little rushed by the waitress even though it was late lunch on a Thursday and didnt seem super busy. Maybe it was just a bad day at los hermanos but I wont be going back to find out. Sorry to give a bad review, was hoping to find a cute sit down mecían place--cafe rio next time for me!

Los Hermanos has a very good reputation in Utah County for its food. It is inside a small house that has a lot of charm. My cousin was over from England and was craving good Mexican food. Since I hate the Red Iguana I took him here. I wanted the feeling of a sit down restaurant not an old gas station turned into Mexican place. The chips and salsa are excellent and are very favorable. We had their bean dip, nachos and cheese crisp for appetizers. The cheese crisp tasted good but was simply cheese on a floor tortilla, it needs to be on a crispy(deep fried) tortilla. Nachos were pretty good and the bean dip is tasty but needs to have a little sour cream on top. We ordered the Halibut tacos, Spicy Pork Chimichunga and Chicken Street Tacos. The halibut was just small chucks, taste was okay. The Spicy Pork was very tasty and I would order this again. The street tacos were also just okay. The server was nice and got our food out of the kitchen very quickly. He was attentive and I gave him a great tip as a result. I will go back to Los Hermanos but they need to up their presentation and add some more variety to their menu. I would change their fish or seafood to deep fried with a mango salsa or a cream sauce. They just need to make some simple changes and this would be a state favorite restaurant and not just a local favorite.

This place is okay, Ill give you insight for someone whos been to the chain about a dozen times, and at least half of it here. My family loves it and the salsa is the best Ive ever had, though Im not excited about beans and rice and iceberg lettuce making up most of the meal but thats typical with Mexican. Sometimes the food is bland sometimes its good, its a hit and miss. I was surprised to see waiters also busing tables, our waiter would pick up the dirty food from other tables and then come straight to us--not very sanitary. I also was disappointed that after spending a bunch of money to get a coupon and become a human billboard for them (or you can spend even more and not enjoy your nachos), I could finally get a free drink with my meal, but I had to pay at least $8/9 to do so, so we ended up buying food we didnt need to get the privilege of finally having the coupon work, for what, overpriced drinks? Most smoothies dont cost $5 for a small drink thats over in a few sips, its a money-making scam. One was called the Oasis and the only thing in it was dates, $5 for liquid dates!!! Also our reservations keep mysteriously disappearing whenever we come here. I honestly dont know why my family keeps coming back, maybe its so we can get our moneys worth out of the ridiculous coupon shirts we keep buying.
