Place was awful! Ordered the 3 meat dinner with potato salad and slaw, so I can get a taste for a variety of what they offer. I got 1 medium to large rib and 1 small rib off of the end of the slab. I got a decent amount of sausage and sliced beef (not a whole lot, but a decent amount). The ribs were pretty good, but they were cold. At 11AM, everything coming out of that place should either be just made or you have to wait for them to make it. I got my order pretty quick so my guess is; it was sitting out, or reheated from the day before (most likely the latter). The sliced beef was overcooked and barely had a smoke ring. The potato salad tasted slightly better than the stuff you get in a store, nothing special. The slaw was actually pretty good and the service at the window was good as well, so goes the reason why I am giving this place 2 stars. You would be better off going back down 249 to Spring Cypress to get some Valley Ranch, they are WAY better. Or you could travel down 2920 towards Kuykendahl to get some Spring Creek. Conclusion: I will end this how I started it, PLACE WAS AWFUL!

I used to like Rib Tickler, years ago, prior to their closing. They have since re-opened, and I just had what was described as a thinly sliced prime rib sandwich with chipotle sauce and grilled onions. It was, with complete candor, the worst thing Ive eaten in a couple years. It was a nasty, wet, cheesy, oily mess. The prime rib was of poor quality, not thinly sliced, there was absolutely nothing even slightly like chipotle sauce in it. It came with some kind of rosemary french fries. There were a lot of the fries, and after seeing the sandwich, I thought there might be some consolation in what looked like good french fries. I was poorly mistaken; the fries were a waste of a good potato. Their sliced turkey sandwiches arent terrible, though.

I remember when I was younger and we used to visit this place all the time, due to the good, consistent BBQ that amazingly, seems so hard to find in Houston. A few years ago we visited a few times and were very dissapointed with the food and service, and so until last night we hadnt been back for quite a while. Maybe it was just nostalgia bringing us back, but at the first bite I knew something had changed, because my food was great!! Apparantly the original owners left some years ago, but had heard things werent working out so came back to run the business again early 2011. We also got personalized service from Kyle, one of the owners. We will definitely be coming back! The ribs are the best in town!

On three occasions a guest of mine has ordered the fried fish. All three times the fish was delivered to our table undercooked. The waitress has gladly complied with our request to have it returned to the fryer for additional browning. My third visit was this past week. My guest ordered the fried fish. It was grossly undercooked. She opted to just not eat it. This is my last visit to the Rib Tickler for fried fish. My fully loaded baked potato with BBQ chopped beef wasnt bad. Not the best Ive ever had but not all that bad. I guess when folks have a hankering for fried fish, visiting a restaurant that specializes in fried fish is the best course of action.

DISGUSTING chopped beef sandwich - used the drive-thru thinking Id grab a nice filling sandwich with recognizable CHOPPED meat, instead looked like they took a ball of mush meat, rolled in around in their hands, plopped in the center of the bun and mashed is all down. The mushmeat wasnt visible from the sides, when I lifted the bun there was space totally around the mushmeat. IN OTHER WORDS MUSHMEAT CENTERED IN A BUN AND FLATTENED. The only taste was from the bbq sauce, not from any meat. Teeth were not required, as there was NO texture to chew. YUK! Rib Tickler, you have PLENTY of competition out there...

My Son recommended the Rib Tickler for catering to our 35th High School Class Reunion in October of 2009, since he had business lunches there often. The committee tried them out, plus we tried several other barbecue places. We chose the Tickler because their food was the best & the staff was so helpful with all the preparations. They did all the set up, serving & clean up of the food area. We had no problems from the beginning to the end. They went beyond what we had expected of them. We have recommended them to other events & we highly recommend them to you.

To be a barbecue place in Tomball and last for as long as this place has, you must be doing something right. I had the good fortune to eat here a few times, and decided to have our wedding rehearsal dinner here - the staff kept the restaurant open beyond their usual hours to accommodate us and everyone had an excellent meal at a very reasonable cost.If you like barbecue and the related accoutrements, you could do worse than the Rib Tickler.

The Original Rib Tickler catered our party of 50 people. The food was wonderful, serving sizes were "very large" portions, and the prices were very reasonable. The owners were extremely helpful and flexible. The best part was they brought everything!!!- plates, cups, utensils, ice, tea, all the fixings, and a bunch of great food. It made serving everyone VERY easy. They also delivered it in the pouring rain, with a smile.

Just FYI, the owners that actually made GOOD barbecue are gone now. Its doubtful that the quality of the food here will ever be the same. However, the owners that recently closed the place are now catering in the area (KDs Catering). Weve used them several times for special events (e.g., weddings) at our reception venue. They are top notch!

Great little gem. Although the BBQ is great, the best item on the menu is the Teds Chicken Sandwich. Its even better when you add jalapeños. The food is very affordable and high quality. The daily specials are perfect and actually priced special. Not open on Monday.

This place is consistently great! They always have a great selection and great tea. Ted & Sylvia Johnson are just good people. The only setback is that they are closed Sundays & Mondays. But everybodys got to rest sometime! (Great desserts, too.)

This is not what I would consider tasty bbq...its bland bland bland. Brisket was flavorless, Mac n cheese was made with Velveeta, and grilled cheese was a tasteless American cheese. Needless to say we will not be repeat customers.
