Ive been going to the Taproom off and on for the last 5 years and they have, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the best food in SM. Their burgers are amazing and served on some great buns. Ive had just about everything on their food menu and have never been disappointed. Their ribs literally fall off the bone, you can pull every rib out of the rack and have a giant piece of meat left over, ready to be ravished. The fish and chips can only be compared to some that I had while in London. And the list goes on, appetizers, sandwiches, all great. Then! Then, theres the beer, its not call the "Taproom" for nothing.. about 50 some-odd beers on tap, by far the best selection in town; and a handful of bottled beers too. The staff is very friendly, the bartenders keep your glass full and the waitresses always have a smile on. If youre looking for a game, there are 6(?) screens mounted around the pub. The atmosphere is very chill and laid back with soft lighting. I dont smoke and have never had a problem here, the smoke filters they use work pretty well; no haze. All in all my favorite place to go.

The taproom is a cool place. We had a table and drinks quickly after arrival. I ordered a melon margarita. It was ok. Id give it a 6/7. I couldnt taste any melon and it seemed a bit watered down. Great beer selection. Good menu. I was with my sister, brother, and husband. Brother got chicken strip basket. He said it was good. Husband got the mac and cheese burger. He said it was average. He said he wouldnt get it again, but the bread was good. Sister got the quest and guac burger. She said it was sub par. The cheese tasted a little cheap and powdery and the meat was not great. Fries were great though. I ordered the baby back ribs and a side salad. The ribs were absolutely amazing. They were full of flavor, awesome sauce, so tender, with a great flavor. I could eat those ribs every day and they would never ever get old. The ranch on the salad was very good. The lettuce was fresh. I wish they used red onion strip instead of tiny diced white onion. I didnt even taste it. This would have been a 2-3 star review but the ribs were so amazing I couldnt forgive myself if I gave them less than 4.

Very disappointed after our last visit. Sat waiting with an empty glass for about 15 minutes. We waited a really long time for our food and when it finally arrived all of our burgers came out cold. Brought it up to the server and she wanted to"put them back on the grill for a few minutes." We said no, thats not the way to fix it. She responded, "so are you sure theres not something I can do?" We asked for new burgers that werent sitting. She walked away and just said shell see what she can do.... We always had great experiences but today was pathetic and everything was subpar! To make it worse she maintained an attitude and mumbled words to the other female server indicating she was upset and frustrated with us. We were very polite the whole time. In the end she did try to discount the bill, but we werent looking for free food, just some warm food and we declined the discount because it went from being about the cold food, to about an extremely disrespectful and incompetent server!

I LOVE this place! The food is amazingly excellent for a pub. I find the buffalo chicken sandwich delectably delicious. I burgers are pretty darn good also. We got the fish and chips last time and they were pretty decent. The staff is really nice considering they have to put up with a bunch of drunk college kids all the time. The beer selection is, well AWESOME! Make sure you get the Around the World card so you can get a tee shirt once you finishing drinking the 60 beers that have available. The restrooms are usually fairly clean, even though the mens soap dispenser must have been installed for Wilt Chamberlain! The restaurant is a little dark for me, but its perfect to watch some sports. Also you can smoke inside throughout the restaurant.

As a visitor, This place had a great vibe and great reviews but dont come here. They favor the locals more. Maybe our waitress and the bar were having an off night but they couldnt get anything right. Our waitress was having the hardest time remembering any of our orders. Even though we were less than two feet away from the terminal. Then she took it offensively when I suggested to her to write them down. The food took long to get. And its not like there was anything special about it. It looked like food you would get from a frozen tv dinner. Oh and only 2 out of 8 drinks ordered ever made it to the table. But, she tried to charge us for all of them. In the end, it felt like the priority went towards the locals and we were cared aside.

Taproom is a classic choice here in San Marcos and they are known by locals for their burgers. My friends and I like to come here to have a chill dinner, or trivia on Tuesday nights. They serve american food like burgers, salads, friend appetizers, chips and queso, etc. I love the Cordon Bleu Bites appetizer and the Mushroom Swiss Burger. They also have really good salads, and the Guac Queso Burger is a legend. They have a lot of beer on tap too and layered beers that they have come up with. I like the one with Blue Moon and Cider beer! Definitely worth trying. Keep it up Taproom! Love yall.

I dont really like pub/grills and this was First time I have ever been here but I took a chance and to start off with by surprise the bouncer at door a tall, built Caucasian man was very nice (which most times they are not at other places) We sat down and Cheryl was our waitress was also very nice and sweet to attend to our needs. She gave good customer service and also the food was awesome. I really loved their Burgers!!! I dont know why would anyone not like this place??? Most definitely will come back here again on my next visit.

I ordered the Shrimp Basket and was told by my waitress, "that plate sucks, order the Fish and Chips." The Fish and Chips were terrible (all batter, no fish), so Id hate too see the shrimp. On top of that, my bill was wrong (not in my favor) and my waitress told me, "Its close enough." I asked to speak to the manager and he/she never came to my table. My bill was never corrected. I was with a group so I didnt want to make a scene. By far the WORST service I think Ive ever experienced at a restaurant. Dont waste your time or money.

The atmosphere is loud. Not a great place for a date, unless you dont like them, then it is fantastic. A great place to meet up with friends and have a few drinks and some grub. They have just about any beer you would ever want and if you try them all you get a t-shirt and your name on the wall! The food is fantastic. It is mostly a bar-type food menu, but the food is much better than your run of the mill bar food. The Southwestern Egg rolls are delicious! As are the fries, onion rings and the burgers!
