The atmosphere here is excellent! Very nice place to sit, relax, and enjoy a drink; however, the food here, although advertised as fresh, and "unique", needs a little work on its taste. The food at Supper was sub par. I would rather walk a mile or so to eat elsewhere (maybe making a salad and sandwich in my hotel room after buying the ingredients at HEB would have been a better decision.) The staff at Supper were more than excellent, friendly, welcoming, and eager to be of assistance (I wish I could give 5 stars to the staff alone), however, the overall taste of the food was sub par, and quite disappointing. I would not willingly pay what I paid if I knew how sad the taste of the food would be. I mean this to no insult, but I feel whomever is responsible for making the food/recipes used, is focusing too much on making a high end plate for a high end hotel, and has not paid much attention to balancing looks with (at the least) decent flavor. I have no doubt that the food here is beyond fresh, but fresh does not negate, nor does it erase the fact that whomever made the food most likely has not eaten or even tasted the food they have made. The food I experienced here was either overpowering (with one ingredient sickeningly taking over a dish to the point I could not eat, much less enjoy it without disgusting myself) or underwhelming food (where, if the only thing giving the plate flavor was taken away, the dish would cause even the most numb tongued being to cry). My salad tasted like citrus death with a side of diseased vinaigrette. It seemed that there was nothing to compliment or balance out the taste of the vinaigrette used (thats all I tasted, if I am being honest), nor was the vinaigrette made edible in the least (many times I felt like vomiting after swallowing). I feel the ingredients used to make it must have been simply thrown together with no regards to taste or edibility; while the ingredients in the salad, while fresh, and possibly excellent tasting on their own, were doused in this vile concoction and served on a pretty plate. The turkey sandwich I ordered, had only one taste: pungent peppers. If, by any chance, one were to take away the peppers (either because they dislike the peppers or they are not willing to try them, that would leaving you with a less than notable tasting sandwich. A "sandwich with no soul", if you will. (anyone can just slap strong flavored peppers on a poor tasting sandwich, it takes a decent cook to create something satisfactory on a plate) I would suggest the chef focus on less complicated platters to prepare, and would recommend they focus on properly balancing food presentation with decent flavoring. I feel the latter is terribly lacking and would require much work. Best to eat elsewhere, then get drinks here. atmosphere is really nice.

came here around 11:30am on a sunday, with no reservation. the hostess told me that the next available indoor table for 4 wouldnt be until 1:30pm. very odd, considering the restaurant was 85% empty. but she said she could seat us outside and the weather wasnt bad (just slightly humid) so we were fine with that. we opted to start with the spinach and ricotta gnudi appetizer. it was okay. not bad, but not good enough to write home about. for the price, i wouldnt order it again. per a friends recommendation, i decided to try out the salmon sandwich. im always weary of salmon sandwiches because usually the smoked salmon ends up being overpoweringly salty. but this one was actually delicious and all the ingredients were well-balanced. my friends ordered the butcher shop burger, grilled beef dish, and cheddar and apple sandwich. it didnt seem like they were very impressed. i had a bite of the burger and it was bland, extremely soggy, and the bun was so sadly pale and under-baked. so all in all, food seems to be hit or miss, but prices are consistently high. ambiance is nice and if you sit outside, you can get a bit of a river view and people-watch as the hotel emma entrance is adjacent to the outdoor patio.

Supper is a great new addition to the Pearl district. Attached to the new Hotel Emma, it offers a cool ambiance and a very well priced meal. The food is great, and I put it to 5 stars because after the meal, you can walk around and enjoy the architecture of the revitalized Hotel Emma. Salt and vinegar Brussel sprouts ($8) are a great appetizing start, perfectly seasoned with that tang . Oxtail soup ($9) is a nice wintry broth with tender meat. Fried quail on a parsnip puree ($23) is like a refined and delicate fried chicken. If Popeyes is the illspoken, crass, and underachieving son that you forget to invite to dinner, then this fried quail entree is the classy, philanthropic, doctor son you trot out at your weekly bingo nights. Desert is a sticky toffee pudding ($8) that we enjoyed. I think, though, that Id eat another app or starter plate over the desert. I wouldnt say its a must-have. Service is friendly if not a tad slow. Our food choices were recommended by the wait staff and didnt disappoint. Minor issues of having to track someone down for refills and utensils were mildly annoying, but overall the pace of the food was good, and everyone was affable and eager to please.

The food in this place was To. Die. For. Started with the Watermelon Rush and one of each appetizer, all of which were phenomenal. I could have been happy ordering any one small plate but every one was unique and delicious. The roasted cauliflower with caramel corn was fantastic. My burger was perfectly cooked and the side salad had a DELICIOUS dressing. Dessert was the butterscotch mousse with chocolate ganach, tapioca pearls, coconut dust, and chocolate pearls. It was possibly the best dessert of my life. Service was very attentive and the atmosphere is charming. Im told its impossible to get a table in weekends, but on a Thursday afternoon it was quiet.

The good things first : excellent service, very superior plating and nice selection of wines by the glass and really good desserts. Food was okay, but nothing blew us away. Branzino was cooked well but came with fairly flabby skin, the crisp potato salad was interesting (essentially chips with dressing. ..but very cleverly done and tasty), beef stew ate more like a pot au feu in that the gravy was more like a broth and very salty to boot (told the waitress and not sure it made its way back to the kitchen), well cooked cauliflower, but very bizarre romesco. Other missteps will make me avoid this for dinner. The breakfast is quite good and well executed.

Unique foods from farm to table. The chef is amazing and the wait staff just as attentive as desirable. Vegetarian, meats, seafood dishes. Ive had the sweet potato cabbage pancake, cauliflower-broccoli with caramelized popcorn, salmon sandwich (incredible), salads, and butterscotch cremieux with tapioca and chocolate. All food is flavorful, a combimation of textures, and very satisfying. For a birthday lunch, we received complementary glasses of Beniot champagne! Sitting outdoors is comfortable with fan breezes and great for people watching. Try the bloody Marys bc all ingredients are made in house. Very impressive dining!

I was lucky enough to get a table at "Supper" last night and the evening was exceptional. The character and unique accents truly reflected the old brewery that once stood there. The drinks were unique and crafted with precision. I enjoyed the White Whiskey Old Fashion while the bar tender filled me in on the rich history of the building and family that ran the brewery. The entrees were exquisite from offerings to presentation and lastly taste. The Chef did not dissapoint. I recommend the Duck Confit it was superb! My next visit there cant come quickly enough! Thank you "Supper"....Dinner was grand.
