I went to panchos and gringos deli today at 7:00 a.m when they opened with my mom because we wanted to get the food when it was fresh and the experience was mixed and mostly disappointing. I tried to order the carne guisada but the waitress/ cashier lady didnt care about us as a customer. when I tried to order the carne guisada she told me that they didnt have any at all and they only have it when the cook feels like making it. when you order a taco you are given an option of corn or flower tortilla and a small or large taco. from what I gather on this first experience that they were limited on taco choices. I ordered Ice tea and my mom ordered coffee. she said the coffee tasted like it was old and my ice tea I had ordered didnt taste that bad. flour tortillas werent freshly prepared and was undercooked for me and my mom. the food and drinks on the menu were also over priced when compared to the portion sized of whatever food you requested. I also felt like the longer I stayed there to poke and prod things the more problems I would uncover but they wouldnt fix. we only stayed there for about 30 minutes but we wanted to get the hell out of there and not come back. we are not going back there again. we only went because on KENS 5 NEWS. the news anchor by the name of marvin hurst recommended the place. the experience at the restaurant varies by the day and the person. its not worth going back to that place again. The chilaquiles is what keeps me coming back. They are true Mexican chilaquiles. They will ask you how you want your eggs, Mexico City style (which is what Im used to) is with a sunny side up egg on top. They are spicy- but thats how you get rid of your hangover! ;) I did venture out from the chilaquiles on one of our visits, got one of the breakfast sandwiches with beef hash- so good! I also tried my boyfriends SOBO (bfast sandwich) and excellent too. Ive taken family and friends here a few times now and everyone seems to be very happy with their choices- just be aware that portions are HUGE. One breakfast taco is equivalent to two regular sized tacos. Their version of hash browns are awesome and coffee if great too. Service is hit or miss, they just need to get a better system. The owner sometimes gets tied up at the register and cant direct traffic in there which is when it gets a big messy/slow but its worth it for us. Weve been 4 times now and plan to go back for more! Its a gem that will be taking off soon. They need to add mimosas to the menu! :) 5 stars when the service gets a little better.

FINALLY! A comfort food restaurant for someone who has ever-changing cravings for various comfort foods! Usually fabulous restaurants specialize in doing "one" thing well -- well, Panchos & Gringos Delis one thing is their "entire menu!" Everything from Mexican specialties like the "Grits Tamal" -- juicy, slow-roasted pork, green salsa, and Cotijo cheese topping a serious helping of hot grits/polenta/deconstructed corn tortilla (call-it-what-you-will); tasty & classic sandwiches; all-American dinners like pot roast; and MY ALL TIME FAVORITE, "BREAKFAST ALL DAY!" I mean GOOD breakfast all day. Hurry and get there soon...once word gets out those prices are gonna go up. Dignowity is up-and-coming, and any place with bottles of Mexican Coke, homemade cookies, and FULL-DINNERS for under $10 a plate is going to be a hit. Please tell Sergio you love the food if you do! He deserves it!

A great family-owned-operated restaurant to get traditional American and Mexican breakfast/lunch. Its tucked away in the Dignowity Hill neighborhood just off from downtown; there arent enough people who know about this place. We go there almost every weekend for breakfast. Love the "Frenchy," and the eggs Benedict. All the lunch sandwiches are great also. They care a great deal about making customers happy. Casual atmosphere.

I had a coffee and the traditional eggs Benedict. The coffee was good, refills did not arrive in a timely fashion unfortunately. The eggs Benedict arrived with toasted English muffins, sliced ham, well poached eggs and an alright hollandaise sauce, definitely not the best Ive had but also not the worst Ive ever had. The service was pretty decent, except in regards to the coffee refill situation.

This is a must try. The diner is clean and wait staff very friendly. Make sure you are hungry because the portions are no joke. I usually laugh when my family requests to go containers and tell them my food is going home in my stomach. However this time the joke was on me. I tried and really wanted to finish all of my Hero Turkey sandwich but that turkey got the best of me.

Love love love this place its truly my favorite breakfast, brunch or lunch place. Portions are generous with reasonable prices. The atmosphere is authentically folksy enough to appeal to hipsters and squares alike. The photos of their food does not do it justice. My only one complaint is that this place is so popular that there is a wait, but omg so worth it.

Los chilaquiles rojos con huevos estrellados poquito ociosos , muy ricos .como desayuno o almuerzo. Acompañado de una taza de café. Muy amable la señora que recibe en el mostrador.

Worst customer service EVER. Today was my first time ever eating there and it will be my last. Please dont let them forgert a portion of your order because they will not charge the amount back to your card. Not because its not possible but because "they dont know how to do that". The lady in the front was very rude and had a smart mouth. NEVER again.

My husband and I have been regular customers since we moved to San Antonio four months ago. The food is fantastic and the service is exemplary! The owners are wonderful people and treat us like we are family! This is definitely a jewel in the crown of San Antonio! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone anytime!

I am super picky about my eggs benedicts and they make them perfectly! The owner is very nice and goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect, which it is! They need a little art or color in there, but other than that it is a great place to grab breakfast and lunch! I enjoy going there!

Good home cooked food. Ive only visited for breakfast so I cant comment for lunch. I ordered French toast with fruit and Mexican hot chocolate. Food was okay, service was excellent and prices are reasonable. The general atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Good for family. Clean surroundings.

I had the Salmon Omelet which sounds like an odd combination but wow, it was amazing! The family chicken and waffles and a sandwich (cant remember which one my son ordered) but it was all really great. The staff was friendly and service was great even though it was a busy morning.

Hands down my favorite breakfast/lunch spot in SA. Omelettes, chilaquiles like no where else and the BEST pancakes Ive ever had. What makes it even better is that the owners are the sweetest, kindest people. I rarely choose another place to eat out. Must eat.
