Sit down, because this is a doozy... Ive been enjoying the Lorraine at the Pearl for years, and was super excited when I found out there was a location in the medical center just a few blocks from my house. We decided to try it out today and even invited friends to join us for brunch. Big Mistake. First off, we called ahead to make sure they were still serving brunch. We were told "Yes, maam, were serving brunch right now!" We get there, and they told us they stopped serving brunch at Noon. NOON. Then they ran out of coffee for a while. Ran. Out. Of. Coffee. We should have left at this point, but no. We were hungry and already here with our group. The menu stated that the soups come with a small side salad. My friends soup came without it and it actually took some convincing to get them to give her the salad... that she paid for. So the staff obviously arent familiar with their own menu. Finally, my iced coffee came. I ate my lunch and enjoyed my coffee until, wait for it... I FOUND FRUIT FLIES FROZEN INTO THE ICE CUBES OF MY DRINK THAT I HAD ALREADY DRANK 80% OF. I took the offending ice cubes to the counter and showed the staff, and they apologized, but they didnt even OFFER to comp anything. We wont be back.

This was my first time trying this location. I ordered 6 macarons (of course). I also decided to indulge myself and get a cheese danish. The macarons were great, as they are the Pearl location. The danish was AWFUL. It was a burnt/hard/crispy croissant with barely any filling. The only edible part were the 3 raspberries on top, which were fresh. This is NOT at all what I expect from a highly respected, high end pastry shop. I am truly surprised they served this product to a customer. I assume with multiple locations the owners, Jeremy and Anne, arent actually baking or overseeing the baking of their products, so the quality isnt there anymore. Needless to say, please taste test your purchase before you leave so you dont end up paying a premium for something that just ends up in the trash can. UPDATE: If you want good Macarons, Costco has some that taste exactly like Bakery Lorraines. We were at lunch at my friends house recently after their child was baptised and they had plates of Macarons. I thought they were from B.L. until my friend laughed and told me they were from Costco. Costco also has pastries that are not burned and wont end up in the trash.

I wont be back. I purchased a cinnamon roll and a cheese danish. I had to cut the burnt bottom off both and I mean burnt! I asked myself where is the cream cheese on the cheese danish, oh there it is, maybe a teaspoon. Then onto the cinnamon roll, surprise, completely hollow .... No inside.... Just a big hollow ball! And I paid $4.00 each. Ill drive to Buckees on I35 the next time I want overpriced bakery items. At least they arent burned, hollow or $4.00!!!!

So happy to see my favorite bakery opening near my work! Went in first day to pick up some macarons, yummy as always! Great French desserts, croissants, cakes, etc. They also make awesome sandwiches on artisan bread and really nice unusual salads. And the owners could not be nicer people. If you havent tried them yet I highly recommend it, you will not be sorry.

Originally I was hungry and upset that the chicken sandwich wasnt filling enough. Then, I tried my girlfriends quiche - an egg pie with bacon, cheese, and something else, which was incredible. Im going back soon to have it. The workers were pleasant, and the atmosphere was peaceful. Perfect for a weekend brunch.

Huge fan of Bakery Lorraine at the Pearl. Visited the medical center location for the first time and wasnt satisfied with my food. I always order the croissant sandwich with sausage and egg but this time it was too over cooked. I did have the cheesecake which was absolutely delicious!

As great as it can be, when trying to live in the shadow of its sister store. Its almost got it together. If youre going to a bakery Lorraine, make the effort to go to the Pearl location. This one almost has the efficiency down. Everything else is completely on fleek, though.

Had the Quiche Lorraine with the salad and was delicious. The portion was satisfying. The salad had a lemon vinaigrette that was well balanced. I also had a raspberry cheese danish that was alright. Parking is not always available.

Everything was as solid as the Pearl location. Missing the ambience but this place is super clean and had its own character. Itd be nice to see some local art in the walls at some point. Macaroons are the best in town.

The service was excellent but the charmer was the quality of the food and the lighting! We were really impressed with everything in there. Definitely going to make a habit out of going there when I come visit again.

I have visited Bakery Lorraine at their location in the Pearl District many times. The location on Louis Pasteur Drive is just as nice. Always great service, food and drink choices, and atmosphere.

Been going to these lovely people since they were at their first location in a cute little renovated craftsman home on Grayson. Ive never had anything from them I was not satisfied with :)

Perhaps the best bakery in the whole of San Antonio. Quality process that results in crisp, fresh breads, incredibly rich paninis and robust, if a bit expensive, pastries. Would recommend.

The staff is chill and friendly. I come here for their macaroons and I must say I am in love. They have a variety of flavors, and they have cheaper prices compared to other bakeries.

Great bakery! Best macaroons I know of. I love that they have seasonal flavors in addition to the usual. I tend to go at lunch time so its usually busy but worth the wait.

Had their new chicken sandwich with avocado spread and sprouts. Not bad at all. Cashier recommended it. Nice place for lunch but parking situation was limited.

Delivery driver just cut across 3 lanes & almost ran me into onto incoming traffic on Babcock road. I will NEVER do business with this establishment!

Awesome bakery. Beautiful and delicious pastries with a friendly staff with a minimalist dining area. Try the macarons and grab a tart.

I like this location better than the pearl location. This one flows better and seemed more organized. The employees were great.

Been to France and many of the pastries are exactly like the perfection I experienced in the Loire Valley and Paris
