We were planning to celebrate our daughters first birthday in a grand fashion and ordered her cake here after reading bad reviews about The Cake Shop located at Wurzbach Rd. And our decision proved to be too costly. The cake was awful, the design which we described them came out totally wrong and they couldnt get us the right colors. The staff and the manager were not ready to hear our requirements at all and still promised us that the cake will be prepared and designed great. But nothing was right... We ordered a chocolate cake with chocolate filling and when we cut the cake it was all white cake with chocolate filling inside. Could you believe it? And they charged us more than $200 for that cake. As the other reviewer said the cakes at HEB are far better and costs you just one third of what these bakeries like "The Cake Shop", "Nadlers" and "D Pasteles" charge you for awful cakes and awful service. Dont waste your money and time at these shops if you are planning to have a great ceremony.

My mother was visiting and found this place, so we tried it for lunch. I ordered the Ultimate Reuben with corn beef and my mother had the Italian Sub. The Reuben came to me with half turkey and corn beef, which was not what I ordered and it tasted bland, also it was small compared to whats being advertised. My mothers sub tasted better with Italian seasonings and deli meats but there was little meat for the price and it was mostly a wheat hoagie roll with cheese; you get more at Subway for a cheaper price. Before we got our meals, the table next to us got the wrong orders as well, which seems to be the pattern at this place. Definitely do not recommend this place for lunch. The gentlemen who assisted my mother and I was great but cant say that about the rest of the staff which had an uninviting attitude.

I am really happy with Nadlers bakery. My mother in law had her 44th wedding anniversary last weekend and the cake was a hit. I requested a plain vanilla cake with filling and no artificial colors or flavorings (my mother in law has chemical sensitivity) with little notice and they were able to accomplish that. Other bakeries did not want to help me or even bother to look at their ingredients to see if it was possible to make. This bakery had no problem and offered great suggestions! My mother in law was very happy with the cake one she could actually eat and it was beautiful and reasonably priced. Best of all was the friendly service. I will come back again!

Cakes and pastries are fantastic. Very flavorful and delicious. The shop is usually busy therefore it may take a few minutes before someone can help you out but the service is excellent. As far as the deli: Last time I was here, I ordered the Reuben sandwich, which was great but couldve used a little more dressing. The time before that, I got a turkey croissant; it was nothing special, unfortunately. I recommend the sides other than potato chips. I love seeing Mr Nadler roaming around!

Ordered a Boston cream pie cake for my husbands 40th Birthday. The custard was frozen, even after having it out of the fridge for over an hour, the chocolate frosting wasnt gnash and very little of it, just on top and the overall taste of the cake was pretty blah. Im glad I bought the 8 inch side, the leftovers are not going to get eaten. I am not going to buy a cake from this place again anytime soon.

Wife ordered 5 dozen plain sugar cookies for kids to decorate at a party, 5th year in a row. Gets there has 5 dozen glazed cookies that the decorating icing just slides off of. No apologies. Just keeps telling her that they are plain cookies with a glaze and she doesnt understand what a plain cookie is. Guess you all didnt either for the last 5 years. Time for a new bakery with less attitude.

Bought two cakes, one for Mothers Day (Tiramisu cake) and the other for a birthday (Red Velvet cake). Tiramisu cake was exceedingly dry and the Red Velvet cake was too. Nadlers used to have great cakes but these were terrible. The experience picking up the cakes was also terrible. All the staff was confused and that reflected in the cakes. I wont go back again.

Selected for wedding cake. Im a guy who could care less about what cake I had. We tried 4 other places and I had no opinion either way.....Then we came here, and I could not have been more satisfied. The staff was great, and the cake is now my favorite in San Antonio. MUST try the vanilla cake with custard filling and almond. BEST CAKE EVER.

Cakes are delicious but I wanted a specialty cake and only option I had was vanilla and chocolate . I wanted the fruit basket cake but they wouldnt decorate the top of the cake for an occasion. They said we dont want to ruin the top of the cake and would only decorate with a ribbon for $106 for 50 servings ! Really disappointed .

I ordered a custom cake for my daughters cake smash photos, and it came out so beautifully! The price was very reasonable, and I cant get over how perfect the cake was! I will definitely be ordering from Nadlers again in the future!

Bought a birthday cake here and it was excellent. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a lot more products and services to offer than just birthday cakes and Im sure Ill go to them again in the future.
