This is my 2nd time dining at Mah Jong. I highly recommend you make a reservation when dining here. We once tried to walk in at 6:30 pm to eat - the dining room was empty, but we were told that all the tables were for reservations. I believe they set aside pretty much the entire space for reservations only, but you can usually eat on the outdoor patio without one. The service is very enthusiastic, although a bit frantic. Our server was so very nice, but he was definitely overwhelmed by a large party in his section. The owner/manager did step in to help and took our order which was nice. Negatives were that when I asked for an extra side of sauce with my order, he told me he thought what was given with the order would be enough for me (uhhh ok?), also the dirty plates at the end of the meal took FOREVER to be cleared away. We were not in a hurry so this was not a big deal. The food overall was delicious - Classic Moo Shu Chicken was so good and my friend ordered the Mah Jong Spicy Garlic Ocean White Fish Fillet and she loved it. I had a taste and it was amazing - the sauce was great - just slightly sweet. We had pan seared veggie dumplings (Shanghai style) for an appetizer which were very good, and crab rangoons which were very "meh". Tasted overly fried and I burned the heck out of my lip on the molten liquid sauce inside. Would definitely pass on those next time. Love the atmosphere - it was very busy and has a very comfortable elegant vibe and a great energy!

We were very interested in trying this place because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, the service was beyond awful. The food tasted good, but they messed up our order repeatedly, and the manager was argumentative. We ordered two entrees...when they came out, they had random vegetables that werent listed on the menu item...my plate was half carrot, half meal. I said - excuse me, but according to the menu, this isnt supposed to have carrots. The server was rude and basically said they put in things in the kitchen and I didnt tell her I didnt want carrot. I said, I would have told you no carrot if carrot was listed on the menu. So the manager comes over and proceeds to tell me that this is not a problem for other customers and shes been in business for 30 years. Finally after 10 minutes of literal arguing, she re-makes our meal, but I ask her for a different entree instead, because she refused to substitute one vegetable for another. What do you think came out? The WRONG entree...after an additional 15 minutes...then she asks me if she should re-make it again. I said I dont have another 15 minutes to wait. So I ate what they gave me. Did she do anything to make it right (like offer a discount for THEIR repeated mistakes)? NO. If you want good Chinese food and will eat anything they feel like putting in their dishes, then by all means, go there. If you value service as well as good food, stay away.

We decided to try Mah-Jong for our date night this week and were impressed all around. The decor is very nice and upscale, but still cozy and the food is amazing. The steamed “Dim Sum Trio” was really delicious and the “Salt and Pepper” popcorn shrimp was our favorite of the night. Finishing with the spicy HOT chili chicken was fantastic since it was very lightly breaded, not at all oily, and the breading really sealed in the juices so the chicken was tender and moist with a bit of heat from the seasoning. We typically dont repeat date night restaurants since there are so many options, but were thinking well break our rule and go back to Mah-Jong soon!

The lady led us to seats was unfriendly when we mentioned we didnt have reservations but there were still plenty of seats out there. By the time we ordered food the waitress was having a weird face when we ordered only a few dishes. I told her we were not so hungry but she seemed to want us to order more. I dont know what happened to the restaurant. They need some attitude adjusted.

Upscale Chinese food in preparation and quality. Dont come and ask for sweet and sour pork. This place is more geared towards real Chinese food with some western twists. We had the sesame balls, as an example, and instead of red bean or sesame seed filling, it had dark chocolate in the inside. Service is good, the shrimp crisp noodle and scallop and shrimp clay pot were delicious.

Its Chinese food a little more upscale than the usual. Its the perfect choice if you are trying to decide between Chinese food or a nice intimate restaurant for dinner, its both. But warning to you it will spoil you as far as Chinese food is concerned, you wont want to go anywhere else for Chinese after eating here...

Been to this restaurant 2 times and it was great both times. I have a problem with Chinese restaurants and that is all the dishes taste like they use the same sauces. But Mah-Jong is different....each dish taste individual and you can taste the spices. Waite staff is great. Go and have a great experience.

Terrible customer service. The female server was extremely unprofessional and rude. The owner was equally as bad. If there was an option for zero stars I would put it. If you want overpriced Chinese food and rude service come to this place. Youre better off at Pei Wei for better food at reasonable prices.

I loved this place! We were craving Chinese and ended up finding this place. Great wine selection and food! The only issue was that the menu was so big it was hard to decide what to eat. They definitely need a simpler menu but the food was great! Will be back soon!

Food is amazing. Maybe the best Ive ever had. Service is not great but there really isnt room for more waiters/waitresses. I actually prefer slow service instead of being asked every five minutes "Is everything OK?"

Very good food. Had the red devil chicken. Was spicy but not too much to burn your tongue. Good portion size and the hot and sour soup was very good.
