Any DFW youth of the 90s or former Gen-X kid (yeah I said it) has a love of Cafe Brazil. From the location on Central to the one off Oaklawn its a standard of late nights, little money and lots of time. The Plano location has many of the same flavors but an atmosphere just a bit different. Being in Plano, you wont get the crowd from the bars or college kids draining coffee. You will however, get a damned good BLT or grilled cheese. Chilliquilles that are incredible and a range of coffees that will keep you busy for a while. A few more hi-chairs and business men, but if you grew up loving the old location, then you probably have a few kids and business partners of your own and want relive those flavors while forgetting those hangovers. They can still sling it on the grill but like you, they have aged a bit.

All I can say is dont come in within an hour of closing.. I have never been made to feel so unwelcome in a restaurant in my life. We arrived about 45 min to close and the waitress sat us then told us we couldnt have coffee because she was shutting down the machine.. ok. Can live without coffee. Then she made a big deal about our chocolate orders and told us to consider what we order as we only have 25 min to cook and each the food. Although we ordered with 5 min of arrival she was pretty clear we had to be out right at 10. The food was over cooked and so hot ( like it was in a microwave) that I couldnt even really eat it. Didnt get asked if everything was ok..just if I was done. Dont think I will come back to this location

Reasonable prices, good amount of food, fairly scrumptious food as well, great bottomless coffee, free Wi-Fi, nice atmosphere and 20% discount for teachers, need I say more. Wont give them five stars because the service isnt always top notch especially if you just want to partake of the coffee bar and dessert, but I think that is part of the flavor of cafe Brazil. Ive eaten at nearly every location and never feel like the wait staff particularly cares about their tip. But I dont go there for the service, so its all good. One final thought for any CB lovers who have never been to this location, this Cafe Brazil definitely has a middle class suburbs feel to it versus my old CB in Deep Ellum.

May 2016 update: 10 months I wrote a negative review based on several lackluster visits. Today, it was great. Hilda was my waitress and she was on it! At the end of my meal, I mentioned my past experiences and she said they were uber management as of two months ago... So maybe things are getting fixed! July 2015 Service is more miss than hit. Sometimes I go there and the service is slower because its busy, but today at lunch, there were only 5 active tables with maybe one waiter. And two others rolling silverware in napkins. After a 10 minute wait of not being greeted by the waiter, my buddy and I left. Theres no excuse for this when we had been walked passed several times.

The quality is much higher at the locations on 75 closer to downtown. The service is spotty. Depending on the member of the waitstaff, Ill sit there for 15 mins after my meal waiting for them to bring a check (or at least bus my table), other times the waitress would always somehow appear right as I needed something and was very friendly. I should have know better, but dont order the chicken friend steak and eggs - youll be let down. All of their egg/chorizo/chicken/tortilla and pancake/french toast foods are solid, though. I wish the coffee varieties changed more. Ive gone there 5 Saturdays in a row now and none of them were different at this location.

Amazing food and drinks! I honestly usually get their breakfast items, but let me tell you that they are the bomb diggity. I also had frozen hot chocolate which is something that I would never have expected to exist, and its actually REALLY good! Its like a chocolate shake except its more amazeballs! Dont expect very quick service. Unfortunately, a lot of teens that dont care much are hired, so you can expect to wait ridiculous times. If youre impatient, then you should probably go elsewhere. Be prepared to relax! Thats what you should be doing when you go to a restaurant anyway.

My fiancée and I are new to Plano and since Café Brazil was one of our go tos down in Highland Village we decided to hit this location. Much to our surprise the restaurant was dirty. Multiple tables still had dirty plates from prior customers, the floors were dirty (looked like they hosted a rave) and the food was terrible. If the restaurant was understaffed I could understand the tables being dirty but there was maybe 6 people dining around the 2pm hour. Not sure what was up with the floors but a mop might help. We wont be coming back :-(

We had gone to a Cafe brazil a while back and our experience was far way better than todays. I did not like the service at all and our meals we had ordered werent great than what the first time we tasted. The chilaquiles are suppose to be with tortillas cooked from the same day but we were informed that they were made with cooked chips that they already had. overall we did not enjoy our food at all which is sad to say because i was waiting till the end of the week on my only day off to go eat breakfast with my family.

Absolutely terrible service. The chicken tortilla soup came out cold, then after waiting 40+ minutes for pancakes during a non-busy time (Maybe only 5 other tables had people sitting at them) we decided to leave. Paid for our drinks only, to now realize they charged us for the meal we never received. This place is a ran by kids who really could care less. The waitress we had, had no idea that after 40 minutes we still did not have our food. I do not recommend this location at all.

Cafe Brazil Plano remains our favorite breakfast place. Free WiFi allows my wife to clobber me at Words With Friends as we sample the "bottomless coffee bar," easily accessible and seldom bogged down with lines of anxious empty cups like at some places. I love my Ham & Cheese Crepes with their yummy and just slightly spicy sauce. The servers contribute to the relaxed atmosphere with their friendly attention and cheerful assistance. Cool.

My wife and I were out one night last month and decided to go for coffee. We went here because it was open past 10pm on a weeknight, and weve been back many times since. The atmosphere is casual and the food is inexpensive and good for the price. Weve never had an issue with slow service like some of the other reviewers here reported, but our visits have all been recent, so maybe they fixed that.

Worst experience at a restaurant in quite awhile. 11:00, Sunday, Fathers Day...out of bacon, out of sausage, out of chile rellenos, and, judging by the person with 4 gallon jugs coming from his car, out of or about to be out of milk. To be fair, what I assume to be a mgr bussed our table and asked us how things were, when he heard, gave us two $10 gift cards for the next visit...not likely.
