We had gotten used to really good chicken here, but last night we had a terrible experience, and I wont be going back until whatever is happening there gets fixed. We arrived between 6 and 6:30 and had to wait almost an hour for our food. When we got our food, the chicken skin was burned and had a charcoal taste. After an hour, they couldnt get me white meat as I had ordered so I settled for dark meat. There was some kind of inspector in the building following employees around, questioning them, sticking a probe into food in the kitchen and the salsa bar, opening food storage areas, and wandering throughout the place, including outside among the long line of cars waiting for drive-through service. Im guessing that just about dinner time the inspector demanded that they throw out all their cooked chicken and start over, so there was no food for patrons. It didnt look like the inspector was from the city; he didnt have any identifying uniform, so I have to conclude he works for the company. My advice is if they are going to have that kind of aggressive inspection, they ought to do it privately, not among paying customers. Its not appetizing, and its actually scary. How much bad food have they served there? I wrote to the customer feedback email address last night but so far, no response, so I thought Id leave a mesage here. I really liked that place when it first opened.

Without a doubt at 4:40 PM December 22nd it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at an El Pollo Loco and I am from California I was so excited when they put this El Pollo Loco in. Today I went in to get lunch for my daughter and I and there was a cashier who clearly did not know what he was doing he was waiting on a fellow employee she was leaning over the cash register trying to help him out, myself and another group of people that I was not with stood there for almost 7 minutes with 4 other people running around and nobody stopped to go over and give him a hand finally with my daughter and I got tired of waiting we walked out so I called and talked to the manager Juan he apologized so Im like alright if we go in can you take my order so we can go home and have lunch he said oh yes oh yes we will take care of you we go back in one person says hi and then they all still there nobody walks up to the register so we walked out again by far the worst service ever. Managers actually standing there watching your employees struggle rather than helping them and providing good customer service to the customers to enable them to have a paycheck good luck with that

Disappointing because I have heard so much about this place. It was clean, well kept up and when we went it was not busy at all, around 7 pm. I was shocked when our food came out room temperature, not even warm. I ordered a bowl and the chicken was very dry and chewy, seemed like it had been sitting out all day. Whats more is the pieces were huge and partially cut from each other. In my opinion, you order a bowl and you shouldnt need a knife. The rice was hot, but that was it. The flavor of the chicken was very good, and the beans and cabbage tasted good too, but even those were luke warm. Their sweet tea was empty so I asked if they had some in the back (for the drive through) but I was bluntly told, "No. Were out." They had regular iced tea, so Im not real sure how they could be out. Was it possibly: "I dont want to make any more?" They were also out of drink lids but I honestly didnt bother asking. I assumed they were out. So, overall Im not interested in spending my money here again. The food seems to have real potential but there are issues standing in the way like.

We eat here (sometimes dine-in, sometimes drive-thru) several times a month. The food is usually great, though there are times when its not that great. There most always seems to be something in error with our order. When they first opened, we came with friends - one of which ordered a salad with chicken. It came out with no chicken! We just drove through and ordered some meals and specifically requested pico. "yes, well put some in the bag". Guess what? No pico - and no forks (we had two salads). So we are in the drive through again to get those two items. If theyd just be consistent, Id be happy! Had to go through AGAIN because they didnt give us two dressings (for two salads).

Finally a place that is NOT Tex Mex, but more authentic tasting Mexican food. We stopped by here after a long day and boy did we enjoy it. We met with the manager Juan Carlos and had small talk about food and turns out we are the same area. It is good to go to a place of business with such a humble and dedicated person managing. The food was reasonably priced and the flavor was more authentic then some of these other wanna be Mexican fast food chains. If you want some mouth watering flavor to that bland Tex Mex diet of yours, then head on over to El Pollo loco and try a chicken bowl or one of the chicken and 2 side plates. Thank you Juan Carlos for making our day :)

The employees are subpar. They stand around talking and one tall guy seems to be doing all the work, Z was his name, weird. The cashier, Veronica, was rude and very slow. She kept talking to another, Mayse. The cook was working hard, but the tall guy was bouncing around doing everything, putting food out, doing dishes, cleaning, while everyone else stood around wasting time. The food was horrible. Dry beans, overcooked chicken, the salsa wasnt mixed well, and the soda had an algae smell. Overall, a nasty place to eat. The Californians are crazy if they think this will work in Texas.

Worst experience with a fast food place ever! The chicken was very HARD, DRY, and COLD on my Chicken Tostada Salad (like the chicken had been sitting out all day) and it didnt come with the guac and cheese I specifically added. I was missing the large mac and cheese completely. The queso was lumpy and semi-warm. I called when I got home and spoke with the manager and she said shed take care of it next time I came in, but unfortunately I dont think Ill be returning. I had high hopes for this place-so disappointed!

This one was the worst one my mother and I have been to, I ordered a chicken fajita avocado quesadilla and it was not fresh it was in fact cold and my mom got some chicken and it was very dry and hard. The atmosphere was awful, but I will say the one in Hurst near the Northeast Mall is just fantastic the atmosphere is great there, but the Tarrent Pkwy one is awful so I suggest if you want a great El Pollo Loco got to the one in Hurst near the Northeast Mall.

If I could rate zero stars I would. Ordered three chicken avocado tortilla wraps and there was no avocado in any of them. Three drinks and two straws. Didnt even receive any dressing with the meal and had to ask for that separately with one of the dressings being a quarter full. I havent been to one el pollo loco that has gotten the order correct the first time. Very disappointing
