Richmond Arms is a good place to watch soccer like La Liga and English Premier League. In fact, this is one of the better places to watch World Cup Soccer in the Houston area. Expect a full parking lot and a packed house during major matches. An added bonus is Richmond Arms has viewing parties for World Cup Rugby matches. The prices are competitive but no where near the "dive bar" prices people say it is. The food here isnt anything extraordinary but it is pretty good for typical pub food. Richmond Arms bills themselves as a "British Pub". If this is true then why does the owner lady complain when we ask for the Bread & Gravy? I mean it is the same thing as going to a Mexican place and getting free chips & salsa. What makes this place "good to great" is completely driven by the people that you are with or even the event that is on TV. If you are a Barcelona FC fan then this is the place to be. The lady that runs the place is more less a "battle axe" and you can expect if she was the crux of the business there wouldnt be any patrons. The other waitstaff are generally fun and outgoing and can keep things interesting. Richmond Arms has some great special events. The Classic Car Club night is one of my more favorite monthly events. Come September I may be here for more than a few World Cup Rugby matches!

I would not suggest attempting a business function, meeting, "party" as their website lists, or any sort of event where you would like to hear anyone else talking. I was recently a guest to an event which should have been a private event of a philosophical nature in a private room, and instead, possibly due to the management not agreeing with the content, the "reserved seats" signs were removed from tables, and a loud group was allowed to sit in with us. Due to the L shaped nature of the room we were allocated, there was a tunnel effect, and everyone in our group could hear the one very loud man in the back. The management backed the loud guy because he was " a regular" and we and the rest of our group were just some losers I guess who had just spent $20-40 each on food and drink. Long story short, for a party of any sort, the room is too small and narrow, the noises from the rest of the pub are too overwhelming, and the management is willing to take your money but not keep your business. On the flip side, if your goal in going to a pub is to manage to get in an altercation with a toothy jerk from across the pond over some slight inconvenience, this is most definitely the place to be.

Just a few blocks from the most pretentious and expensive eateries Houston has to offer, Richmond Arms is a welcome oasis of good ales, solid food, and a fun and friendly crowd of anglophiles. Ignore the abundance of neon; there has to be SOME Americana, right? With two tap stations at the bar and a wall of taps behind it, there are no glaring omissions to their beer selection, which includes Bellhaven, Harp, Guinness, Newcastle, Newcastle Werewolf, Strongbow, Smithwicks, Fullers ESB, London Pride, and a host of others. The hot wings are decent but not spectacular, and the Scotch egg is satisfying (but strangely quartered). Dont order the egg without the Branston pickle or youll miss out :-) There are several TV screens to watch your favorite football or rugby matches as well. Notice how I called them by their .eu names -- Im one of those asses that thinks it makes him cool haha I would write more but Im headed to the Richmond Arms now for a game of darts. Cheers!

me and my girls were out to celebrate my sisters engagement and we walked into this bar and the waitress that worked inside behind the bar was so rude!!!!! She didnt want to talk to us, looking at us as if we were wasting her time and just had a nasty attuide. I was not happy about the service at all. All the girls that were with us all checked their bank statements and this bartendar gave her self a 75% tip. On purpose we didnt leave a tip for the bad service but I would watch out if I were you, just pay cash cause this lady will leave the tip amount that she wants. We even called the manager and to be honest it sounded like the same bartendar but the girl said that she shows we didnt leave a tip so we all needed to check our banks, its a bank issue. Its just funny that we ALL dont have the same bank but we ALL had the same issue.

If there was a 0 star I would put it! People that work in a public place should have an open mind and kind manner. Yesterday evening a very dear friend of mine suffering from Parkinsons was denied to go in. They supposed she was under the effect of I dont know what and, even after both she and her husband told them what her condition was not only they didnt apologize, they send them away wishing my friends to have a car crash on their way home. What a nasty, unkind sorta of people work in this place?!? I would never put a foot in it and I wish for them nothing but bad reviews!!! I will spread the word about their actions hoping that others would do the same.

This pub has really been rocking for the 2014 World Cup. Great atmosphere with such a great variety of fans representing the nations of the world playing in this game. One of the best things about this place was the food the kitchen produced during such a busy time. It was some of the best bar food I have ever had. I purchased just the simple grilled chicken sandwich and was impressed with the quality of the buns and chicken they used (you could tell it was almost bought at a local farmers market). The other food I saw being served looked really intricate too, a very British style selection on the menu.

I reallllly like this joint. There is ample parking (unless theres a big sports event.. then good luck), usually beer specials with plenty of selection, and their food is okay. Ive gotten the scotch eggs which were good, but the pub nachos are $9 for a single layer of tortilla chips... not awesome. Buffalo wings are yummy. I come back because its really laid back, they have a happy hour M-F 4-7, theres a nice beer selection, its nice to hang out with friends and play darts, and its a good location for us. However, its nothing super special - just your typical pub. Check it out!

They are running scams. Every time Ive been there they have some kinda "problem" with the credit card machine not working, or either open a tab w my card and pay with cash. But, they still charge my card. Basically I get charged twice every time. In some instances I was charged different amounts on the same transaction. One time my buddy asked for change for $20 so he could tip with cash. The bar tender only gave him $5.00 back, and kept $15.00 as an unauthorized tip on a tab for one brew. PLUS THE COCKTAILS ARE WATERED DOWN!!!!!!!

Ive been several times for lunch and have left happy every time. If youre ever just looking for a place to pull up a bar stool, grab a pint, get a bite, and have a good conversation then stop by. Time waiting on the food varies on the lunch crowd but its always been delicious and worth the price. You can get your favorite import on tap as well as a great selection of American craft and Texas brews. If youre looking for a no frills pub for food and drink and maybe a match then look no further on the west side.
