We have to come this establishment several times. The past two times have been horrible. Customer service sucks. We had the same waitress called Rose tell my brother in law to "get up" from the table with the most rudeness tone because we didnt fit. There is ways to threat customer and I know for a fact this is not one. Everybody from the manager to the sitting girl and cashier heard and saw the way we were treated and nothing was done, not even an apology. We got another table, and the siting girl explained we were not going to be charge from the orange juice and hot chocolate we had since it had be waived. To be asked again from the new waitress and be told we are going to be charge. This is just crazy. The money dont matter, we were not trying to avoid not to pay but to have a good breakfast. This is totally disappointing.

I love having breakfast there. The food is good, the service is outstanding and the prices are very reasonable. On weekends they have a huge line inside but it moves quickly. Even when the restaurant is full with a line, you always have your order taken promptly once youre seated, and the food arrives quickly. They always keep your coffee cup filled. They also have great Polish sausage and jalapeno sausage that most places dont have. On traditional breakfast plates you can get bacon, sausage patties or ham. The ham is more of a ham steak that is 2-3 times as thick as the ham most breakfast places serve. The omlettes are also good. They have hash browns, grits, or sliced tomatoes as breakfast sides. You can choose one or get a half order of two of the sides. Highly recommended!

Best breakfast and lunch spot in SE Houston. TEL-WINK is a long time resident of the Gulfgate / Gulfway area with its cozy neighborhood dining in a booth or at the counter for friendly service and excellent food such as CATFISH & GRITS, HAM & EGGS, PANCAKES & SAUSAGE from the breakfast menu or MEATLOAF & MASH POTATO, CHICKEN FRIED STEAK, CHEESEBURGERS & FRIES among the many great home style options. However, they do more before 3:00 pm than most restaurants do all day so if you cant make it by 3pm you missed out. Try again the next day. It will be worth it.

Not sure how but I mistakenly gave this place 1 Star and no review. The truth of the matter is this is a Houston institution! Ive been eating here for nearly 20 years as a 19 year old going to UH up until now. The chopped beef steak with mashed potatoes are on point. And the prices are about the same now as they were 20 years ago! The only complaint is it can get very packed during lunch with waits, and they have odd closing hours that change depending on whether its Monday through Thursday, Saturday or Sunday. If you order to-go, order early.

First, and foremost I would like to let you know of the owner being very rude and very disrespectful. Jimmy was his name, and hes very rude and has no customer service skills. The food was brought to my table warm. If Im paying for my food I want my food to be hot,and not warm. When I said something to the server she got extremely upset, and said the owner doesnt talk to customers. WTH. How do you think your business is still standing?? Customers are the reason!! I definitely will not return!! I wish I couldve given 0 stars. Horrible experience.

Cant ever go wrong with this place. This is so close to home. Been coming here since I was a kid. And honestly never had a bad experience coming here. The pancakes are like the size of your head! The atmosphere itself puts you in a time machine taking you back. The wait is worth it. Everything on the menu is delicious. Im a simple man. Pancakes eggs Bacon sausage and an omelette with a tall glass of orange juice.! Im good to go!! Come check em out!

Hubby and I always eat breakfast out.Been to several breakfast joints and most of the time end in a lil disappointment..so we go back to eating in our regular places...this time I suggested wed go somewhere else.. husband had been here once or twice a while back and happened to remember it.We were very pleased with the food and Graciela our server... definitely going back!

The ultimate traditional diner ... chicken fried steak, cream or brown gravy and daily specials galore. Weekend breakfast is THE place to be for non-plastic people. Tel-Wink rocks. But arrive early for each mealtime (breakfast and lunch only) because the lines start to build up early. This place is unique and the people are wonderfully real. Worth the wait and the calories.

After server 11 dumped plate & ticket on table, she ignored me. Did not offer a coffee refill although she passed my booth more than once. Scrambled eggs & white toast good; grits not even with butter & sugar. I left her a note explaining that her bad service reason she got no tip. Also left a note f the mgr w the cashier about her bad service. Will not go there again.

The food is excellent. For the first time I have placed an order to go. When I went to pick up the order no one on the counter provided service. I even inquired with whom I needed to speak about my order. Someone just pointed and that person never came to the counter. Very disappointed with the service. I saw my name on the box and grabbed the box.

One of the Anglo workers came to my table and took my chair while my wife was waiting my return from the bathroom. That was extremely rude and unacceptable. Another Hispanic worker came to my table to pick up our plates before we even finish eating. That was extremely rude and unacceptable. How can you love a hateful place like that.

Classic truck stop-style diner in every sense. I love coming here! Yes, there is always a line, but it moves quickly. If you are a small party, keep an eye on the counter, those seats are first come, first served. Also, take a look at the specials listed on the whiteboard. They close early, but they are open on Sundays. Just go.

This place is amazing. Biscuits the size of your fist and everything on the plate cooked to perfection. Dont be alarmed if you go in and there is a line the staff is super efficient and the line moves quickly. I used my wait in line to decide what Id order once we sat down. Next time we visit Houston well be going to Tel-Wink.

Great food. Great service. Everything you want from a traditional diner. We had pancakes, sausages and bacon. Delicious. They also have the most amazing bus boy I have seen. He was moving so fast you could hardly see him, but he paid attention to everything and always had a smile. This wont be my last visit to this diner.

My great-great-great-great-great grandfather ate here- they mustve brought it over from the Old World in the 1700s or something. haha, Seriously though, the food is delicious (I like the chicken cordon bleu sandwich, especially), the place should have a historical landmark or something, the waitresses are good, cooks are fast.
