Number one takeaway: Customer service. The food here is the same great food as the Bellaire location, however the customer service here is amazing. Its incredible how attentive they are, because normally my customer service experiences with Chinatown restaurants are not wonderful. For example, the waitress refilled our water almost the moment our cups were empty. She was also very quick to refill our pot of rice before we even asked. Amazing. Lastly, all the employees were very polite and even asked how we were doing. As for the food, they have large family portions for very affordable prices. Ive ordered the seafood pancake, snow peas, and flat noodle dishes. They are quite little greasy, which is expected of most Asian food, but its quickly forgotten amidst the great flavors and satisfaction your belly will feel at the end of the meal. I most definitely prefer this location on Bellaire, primarily for the customer service!

BECAUSE OF THESE OLD LADY SERVERS!!! My husband and I and our big families love the way this resto cook their food. ITS JUST THE VERY POOR SERVICE especially from these old lady servers. Look for the chubby friendly Asian guy to serve you so that your dinning experience will be wonderful. Those two old lady servers can really ruin your appetite even if you are so hungry. They usually take orders rudely like forcing you to order the other foods you dont need and maybe they dont understand English language very well. And when they serve you usually its not what you have clearly mentioned to them. AND I SEE A LOT OF TIMES of the unclean ways. Make it sure your server didnt dial her nose or didnt come out from the restroom before handling you the dishes. Their food taste good but NOT GOOD IN SERVICE and BE CAREFUL WITH THE OLD LADY SERVERS THEY CAN DO SOMETHING YOU WILL NOT SURELY LIKE.

11/05/16. The food here is good. You will not be dissatisfied with taste or portions. Their portions always result in my taking food home. The service is quite fast. The food seems to come out faster during the day than at night. Their menu selection is huge! There are over 100 dishes to delight yourself with. I dont like that the menu, which is bilingual, doesnt have the names for the graphics being displayed. However, they do have monitors which cycle through images of the dishes available and are very helpful for deciding what I want. There is a full bar at this restaurant. The location is quite large with table only sitting and benches available. It is great for large groups and families. This restaurant has always been very clean in what I have seen. I stopped going a year ago for things I didnt like about the food, but it seems these problems have been resolved.

Always on my list for fresh, authentic Chinese and Vietnamese food in Houston at a reasonable price. Décor at the new Westheimer location is more up-to-date but somehow I like the original Bellaire location. The service is not what youd expect for many western restaurants but it is not atypical for authentic Chinese places such as in china towns. Food is brought out on a first prepared first served basis which means your appetizer may arrive after your main course. Servers may place your food on the far end of the table as they hustle about instead of in front of you. In any event, food here is best eaten family style with everyone sharing ordered dishes.

The service was fast, friendly and the food was pretty good. I arrived at this location after wandering the area a bit to find some food. There were a few restaurants around but they are scattered about. I wanted some Asian food but didnt want to drive to Bellaire. Behold, tan tan, Westheimer edition. This location seems nicer however its difficult to put it ahead of the Bellaire location. Perhaps there were many nights of drinking that would make me a bit biased but if I had to choose between the two, I would pick the Bellaire location. But thats besides the point. The food and service here was great and I will be back if Im in this area.

The Westheimer Tan Tan is the better location if youre wanting to dine in vs the one located on Bellaire. Why? Because the service here is MUCH better and the restaurant seems a little more upscale. The food quality and the taste, however, are pretty much the same with the Bellaire location. If youve never been to Tan Tan then you definitely need to try their rice cake because its the bomb diggity! My favorite food to get from here is the Tan Tans three flavored rice where you get grilled chicken, grilled pork, toasted egg, veggies, and rice. Give it a try! The egg noodle soups here are actually pretty good as well.

I usually go to the Tan Tan on Bellaire, but I just had to try this one just to see if there was a difference. The food was about the same, which is good. :) Always get the house special rice cake. Extremely popular dish and rightfully so. Extremely good sized selection like the Bellaire restaurant. Less popular so it is definitely more quiet and nicer for a date. Closes earlier than its Bellaire counterpart though, but that is to be expected since it is not surrounded by restaurants open late like it is in Chinatown these days.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Galleria area. Its a big place with lots of parking. Service is usually very friendly and relatively fast. I love coming here for soups -- they have a huge selection of soups and also a hot pot option. My favorite soup is the wonton noodle soup that comes with wontons AND noodles. The regular size is large enough (and then some) for one person. Also very well priced. The peking duck is also pretty good. And the garlic bok choy is one of the more delicious sides or veggie entrees.

Authentic Chinese outside of Chinatown! Very convenient for those in the Galleria area who dont feel like making the trek. The restaurant is open late which is also a big plus. Clean inside, almost like a cafeteria in feel, very similar to the typical Houston authentic Asian restaurant. You can order pick-up, but I wouldnt recommend this for takeout, its more of a sit down place. Ive been there several times but have always been underwhelmed by the food and service. Its ok.

Oh how I love coming to Tan Tan! I love it so much, were both willing to drive outside the loop to get to it. They serve very fresh, authentic and delicious dishes at reasonable prices. I almost always have leftovers to take home because the portions are generous. The hot & sour soup and Chinese broccoli is worth the trip alone! Unlike a lot of Asian food that is fried, Tan Tan is not greasy and dripping. The waitstaff are pleasant and there is ample parking.

Nice atmosphere. Some of the best Pho I have had. I got the Meatball Pho it has always been my favorite choice for Vietnamese food. I normally get Pho from NAM Noodles in Rice Village or Saigon in Missouri City. I didnt even add any hoisin sauce or chili sauce. The rice cake appetizer was light, full of flavor, and distinctly savory. My kids had the fried rice and finished the whole plate(must have been good because I have a 6 year old and 3 year old)
