A+ for creativity and a little change from the standard pizza. A well-done classic pizza trumps almost everything, and so one might expect me to look upon these quasi-fusion pies as monstrosities. While true that I am a "if it aint broke dont fix it" kind of fella, these Bombay Pizza creations are different enough from traditional pizza to warrant a new spot in my culinary canon. They are delicious! They are similar to a classic pizza in shape and form only (they are circular, and the bottom is grain-based and the top is covered in other stuff). The crust, though, is super-thin and crunchy, with a yummy buttery richness I cant really describe. Those of you who are not thick-crust fans or who dont leave the crusts after eating the toppings... I bet youll eat all of this. The toppings are adventurous without being too weird. Theres the Saag Paneer - spinach and cheese and butter. The Slumdog - jalapeños, ham, pepperoni, beef, and cheese. They offer the standards as well, including plain pepperoni and plain cheese. The kitchen uses a light hand with the cheese, which is appropriate for the delicate crust. The sweet potato fries are also quite good. Super-crunchy with a hellacious ketchup concoction that surprised me with its aggressive heat. Cayenne pepper maybe? The desserts also LOOK great, but Ive never had the gumption to try. Minus one (and may just one-half) a star for the ambience and the value. A large pizza (splittable between two) is $20, which isnt terrible, but the fries were $3, and the portion was very small (even though they were quite delicious). The inside is a tad dim and grungy, and it can get VERY warm and crowded at certain hours. The food can also take a while to come out, but I have trouble dinging that because the food is so good. In all, a fun and different experience downtown!

I have loved almost every dish Ive tried here. I love all of the spices used in Indian food and think Bombay has found exciting ways to introduce them into the world of pizza. My Mom lives in the condos above it, so weve eaten here many times. We frequent it often partly because of its convenient location, but also because their product is consistently good, the service fast considering how busy they are at most times and the staff is very friendly. The pizza crust is an interesting departure from the doughier crust most of us are probably accustomed to eating. Its thinner and crispier than the crust you find at most other pizza restaurants and theres a seasoning sprinkled along the edges of it (sesame seeds and possibly garlic salt) that adds a nice dimension. There are several different pizza sauces, all of which are delicious -- cilantro chutney and red curry are two of the options. I cant say that I disliked any of the pizzas, but one of pizzas with a lot going on with it (I think "The Slumdog") just didnt settle well with me -- I loved how it tasted but it upset my stomach a bit. Their Rolls are packed with flavor! They are wrapped in naan which leaves it resembling a burrito of sorts. Ive had bites of the Jalapeño Fettuccine, the chicken curry and the seared tuna salad all of which I remember enjoying. If you work downtown, you should absolutely pay it a visit -- it is accessible via the tunnels. If you dont work in the area, the weekends are a great time to go because the line will be nowhere near as long and you can park on the street, which you cant do during the workweek.

Bombay is in the lobby of our condo downtown. The restaurant is also clean. We eat there quite a bit. The food is delicious and is cooked to order. I love their pizzas and all the different cheeses available. The sauce is delicious. My husband has had several of their sandwiches and pastas. They are also delicious and never overcooked. The staff is friendly and always available to ask a question about something on the menu along with their recommendations. I always order light sauce on my pizza and they know me well enough now, exactly how much sauce I want. They have caught 2 pizzas I had ordered that had too much sauce and they recooked them without me having to ask!!!! Kris and Colby are awesome and always stop to talk to us. The other staff are friendly and very helpful. My husband is disabled so they ensure we are able to sit where he will be most comfortable. They have also carried our food upstairs if we decide not to eat there. You have to try Bombay and taste how the pasta and pizzas you grew up on have the wonderful flare of India. Its not an overwhelming flare but truly changes the taste. Their combinations are wonderful. Definitely highly recommend Bombay. One thing I have noticed is they often dont get tipped. Please consider doing so since they dont make much hourly. They rely on tips to pay their bills. I have only had 1 time in which the food took longer to come out but it was during a busy lunch time.

Been here several times over the last two years and quality of food and service is declining, not just in my eyes but according to several of my friends who have lost interest in going to this place. Here are the facts. (1) This is not a bake from scratch place like a Dominos or NY Pizzeria or Pizza Hut or Papa Johns. The white flour pita/naan bread/crust/roll/pie-shell is store/warehouse supplied, and tastes sweet. Carb watchers may be right to think this crust is better than doughy thick crust pizza, but one should be aware of the assumptions while making comparisons. (2) The rice that comes with lunch special was dry, hard, and not chewable on my last visit.(3) The mint chutney pulled from the refrigerator is usually stale and is never served fresh. (4) Slum Dog is a featured item on the menu, a clever attempt to feed off the Jai Ho Oscar phenom of a few years ago. (5) All Indian joints that serve lunch are expensive compared to Chinese or Mexican or American -- what is the deal with that? (6) Waiting times can be up to 20 minutes for standard menu items after you have placed the order and paid for it. (7) Owner Viral Patel is busy with another location in Sugar Land, and he is not seen in Downtown any more, and his hired hands are clearly slacking off.

Im impressed with the quality Bombay Pizza Co. had offered my co-workers and me when we arrived at our company meetup in August 2012. I love eating Indian food, so when I discovered that a pizza restaurants topping specialties are particularly just that, I knew this place would be a great spot for us to enjoy. I ordered the Saag Paneer pizza, while my co-workers had gotten the Berry Bombay and the Bombay Ranch. All the specialties were delicious. Interesting crunchy thin crust, rich cheese taste, fresh-tasting ingredients, I really want to eat again and again had it not been so expensive. For my co-worker with the Bombay Ranch, she specifically asked for the cilantro to be removed, so they had to re-do the pizza and remove the cilantro and she had to wait longer, although it wasnt a big deal since we shared pizzas with each other. I had a great time with my co-workers there and spent 3 hours talking about work and whatnot, and we just enjoyed the atmosphere all the while. I do not live in the Downtown area, nor do I commute/drive to work there, but I will visit the Sugar Land location more often since it is closer. Thanks for the ambiance and great Indian pizza!
