This is supposed to be Memphis style BBQ. Well, Ive been to Memphis a few times and I have to say that I prefer RH&B to anything Ive had thus far in Memphis. The pulled pork sandwich is my GO-TO item, with potato salad of course. The potato salad different in a great way, and probably my favorite potato salad around. Its almost like smashed potatoes really. The rest of the BBQ here can be hit or miss. I find the chicken to be great, but the ribs and brisket are sometimes good, but sometimes dry. But, this is pretty typical of virtually all BBQ places in the world. Even Kreuz and Smittys in Lockhart have off days - trust me, Ive been there many times. The RH&B dry rub is very good tough, and I recommend that you apply it liberally to everything, potato salad included. Their sausage is very good too, though Im not sure if they make this in house or not. The onion rings are fantastic! And always - ALWAYS - order sweet tea. Overall, this is very good restaurant, that is an easy choice to make when in the mood for a certain pork fix. Some will love it. Some will find it overrated. Either way, you should at least not be hungry when you leave.

I visited a Red, Hot, and Blue restaurant for the first time on Monday, September 6, 2010. What a dismal experience! Reading their nutritional charts, I found only two or three menu items within the bounds of reason. I ordered the pulled pork platter which comes with with barbecue beans and "creamy cole slaw". The meat was cooked too dry and needed an abundance of the overly sweetened barbecue sauce. The beans tasted like grocery shelf pork and beans with a bit of barbecue sauce added and heated up. What a let down! The "creamy cole slaw" was dry enough to choke a horse! The price was $2-$3 too high for the poor quality. The service by the waier was good, but not outstanding considering the premium prices. I will not return nor recommend you to friends. I give one star only because it is a required field for fill in. I would rather leave it blank giving zero stars.

My wife and I are long time RH&B fans. We couldnt wait to try out this Dallas location after an extensive re-model as it is the closest one to us. While the food is great, there were some disappointments that we never had at RH&B before, at this, or any location. We went with our 3 and 5 year old, and they charged $7 for the little kids meals and a full $3 for each little cup of lemonade. $10 total per kid? Ridiculous. Thats almost what my meal cost. Sorry, but well go to the other locations. Maybe they just didnt have their act together after a long re-model, but it will be awhile before we try this location again.

Over rated. Walk in sat at dirty table crumbs all over. After 10 minutes no sign of water or a waiter. Bunch of nasty looking guys in black t shirts bsing. Guess they too busy to wait on tables. So I leave. On the way out some other guy in black t shirt just about spayed windex on meet as u exited the glass door Ihe was cleaning. After reading the menu and being seated and neglected at a sorry dirty table, I saw no reason to experiment with food in that environment where no one waited on me. Oh they werent busy at all.

Hoochie Cheese was simply sliced sausage and cubed cheese on a plate. It was ordinary. The ribs were good, as usual, and the okra was really good. Lightly battered and really fresh and not too big around. The slaw dressing is thin enough and not too sweet, which is how I prefer it. The service was good and the remodel job was nice, but I think there are fewer booths now. Ive been to this location at least a dozen times before. Sandwich plates are reasonable priced, some other items seem a little pricey.

Ribs and Fish are great choices. Decent amount of food for your buck. Staff at this location are very attentive and down to earth. Must go. UPDATE 7/14/17.. Ever since they remodeled (and now opened the stage area) they put water in their Patron, have a druggie staff, and changed the menu for the worse. Doesnt have the same vibe anymore but between the staff and them trying to get over with serving less than alcohol... alcohol.. i cant even recommend going to this location.

Our server PJ was awesome. Great guy, really good attitude. I was with a large group and he did a great job accommodating all our picky eaters. The food was really good. Burgers were big, hot, and juicy. Wings were tasty and 100% covered in wing sauce. My only complaint is the barbecue sauces arent all that great, but thats a minor issue. Overall: really good food and good dining experience. Will go back whenever Im back in Dallas.

Being from Kansas City I have a high standard for BBQ. I was in Dallas for work and thought Id give Red Hot & Blues a try. Great service, but the food isnt anything to write home about. The ribs didnt have much flavor and the pulled pork was a bit fatty for my tastes. I didnt get the feeling the BBQ was the freshest, but I ate there on a Monday night and they were probably getting rid of what was left over from the weekend.

OMG!!! Im in LOVE with this place!!! The Hoochie Coochie sauce is on point!! I love all their sides. But my most fave meat is the dry rub ribs, I cant go there without not ordering them. The management is very friendly and our waitress was a hoot! I go here just about every holiday, love the fact that theyre open as well during the major holidays! The blues music thats piped through the speakers is also a plus!

Nice remodel. The food was great. The differentiator here is the service. My wife had ordered her brisket extra lean and it came out fatty. She wasnt going to say anything and just didnt eat much of it. The manager somehow noticed this and came over and asked what was wrong. Within one minute he brought us a to-go portion and we were on our way. This guy is the best manager I have ever seen.

A good Memphis style BBQ, I tried the pulled pork and smoked sausage. It ran true to form, the sauce choice was good, coffee and service too. The managers seemed open to suggestions, The cobbler was good we had a small problem there, but they sorted it out to every ones satisfaction, but the star of the show was the sweet corn bread, I have never had better any where. I will return again

The food was so-so, Sliced Briscuit was fair at best, pulled pork was good, beans were OK and Ear of Corn was best. Portions are large, prices are too high for the marginal quality level. My dinner companions cole slaw and potato salad were both room temp. Service was good, Food was nicely plated, decor is good, but I go to eat BBQ for the BBQ. Plus the BBQ sauce was way too sweet!

Great service and some very cool memorabilia. I went for the triple combo with dry ribs, brisket and pulled pork. All were very good along with the beans and slaw. A good selection of sauces lets you keep the zip and heat in a area your comfortable with. Great service from the staff, and they were quite knowledgeable about the history of the memorabilia.
