LOVE THIS PLACE! Im not a Thai food afficionado, but I am a fledgling foodie, and this place was great. First of all, I got the feeling from other reviews online that this place was a total dive, but it is not. Yes, the exterior and the "deck" are shabby, but inside is very clean (except for the bathrooms LOL) and quite beautifully decorated. Not at all a shack/dive atmosphere. Now on to the food - the menu is HUGE . . .tons of options. We had the I13 appetizer (cant recall the name) and it was excellent. Got the Pad Thai with tofu "medium" heat. It was phenomenal. Only drawback was that it was not spicy in the least, which was our mistake. The kids got the Sesame Chicken and loved it . .very very fresh and light. . not like Chinese restaurant fare. The presentation of all the food was very "gourmet". . . again, not at all a hole-in-the-wall type of vibe, in my opinion. Finally - the service. Our waiter was AWESOME - he was just ultra-friendly and attentive. . .he even gave us free samples of the coconut and mango ice creams so we could decide which to order! Oh- that reminds me of the deserts. . .the Sticky Rice with Thai Custard is out of this world (not huge portion, just be aware). The Ice Creams are both UNREAL - my wife grew up in Taipei and said this finally brought her back. . just like the ice cream she had there. Its actually more like a sorbet. Anyway - you cannot go wrong here. ..will definitely be back!

Ill just say that the food was good and thats the only reason I am even giving them any stars. The service however is horrible. I came in at 2:15pm CT and was 1 out of 4 people in the restaurant. I was given the option to choose my seat which I liked but then thats when it went down hill. I was given no option to order any other type of drink and was just brought some water with no ice. The waitress was fixing herself up in the mirror that was beside my table while I was trying to decide. I was able to quickly decide and told the waitress what I wanted. She was more interested in fixing herself up in the mirror and I had to repeat my order several times. After 5-10min she brought out some soup and then about 10min after that brought out my order. That was the last I saw of her. She never came by to check on me. Even when other waitresses walked by and saw my cup of water was almost out they did nothing to remedy the situation. One glass of water must be the max at this place. I eventually had to get another waitresses attention to finally ask for my check after I had been done eating for about 15min. She got my original waitress to bring me check. It was evident that she had forgotten about me. She even asked if I wanted more water...seriously...when Im ready to leave!? Horrible service! Will not be coming back!

I am Thai and did not like their food at all. It is not authentic Thai food. Seem like they dont know how to cook Thai food. I ordered Payaya Salad, the taste is worst nothing like SomTum at all. I can cook much better than this.

My husband and I were excited to try the food here, since were big into Thai food. He ordered a ginger stir fry dish, I got the red curry with chicken. He said his was okay, not great but not terrible. My curry was very sweet and watery, almost as if there was hardly any coconut milk at all (it should be creamy). The vegetables were mushy and tasted like they were previously frozen. The chicken was tough and chewy, way over cooked. Ive never had a worse tasting asian curry. About 10 minutes after leaving the restaurant, we both were having some serious indigestion. I dont recommend for anyone with gluten allergies, not sure our food was legitimately gluten-free. I had such high hopes after seeing all the reviews, too! I even overlooked the location and building (sketchy area, building is fairly dilapidated). Usually a hole in the wall place is a good sign. Sadly, not for Thai Phooket.

I have been to a few Thai places but after coming here twice I have to say it is one of the best Thai places I have been to. I have sampled multiple curries and noodle dishes, and everything has outstanding flavor! The service has been great and I look forward to coming back and trying more of the vast menu. I have no doubt I will enjoy whatever I order based on the flavor thus far. Do yourself a favor and ignore the run down appearance of the place and get some badass food NOW! Edit: had to drop a star because the consistency has been off the last few times I went there, along with a big snafu on my order. Just keep in mind the star heat rating may not be at all what you are expecting... I have ordered 2 star several times and it was usually not very hot, but enough that it helped. Last 2 times I went it was the heat of 5 star one time, and no spice at all the next. Keep that in mind.

Thai Phooket is as authentic as you can get in Nashville without actually being in Thailand! This place pretty much introduced me to Thai food and set the bar pretty dang high from there on out. From the curries to the Pad Kee Mao to the pad Thai to the fried rice, literally everything here is delicious and oh so incredibly fresh! I absolutely love thier red curry and thier Pad Kee Mao. Thier drunken noodle is in a class of its own but if you really wanna try something amazing, try thier Drunken Rice. It is absolutely to die for! Thier meat to carb ratio is phenomenal. I honestly can never believe how low thier prices are given the portion sizes and so much meat in whatever you order! If you live in Nashville and you really wow someone with authenticity and something other than hot chicken, take Thai Phooket for a whirl. You will NOT be disappointed.

Service: I agree with Matt Ross’ review. The service is HORRENDEOUS at Thai Phooket. We try to call for a reservation, was told that we didn’t need a reservation for groups under 10. Showed up with 9 people, the REFUSED to sit us together, and make some snarky comments. When we asked for a cup of water, since there were only 8 cups, the waitress gave us a very angry look. Food: The food was very underwhelming, maybe because I’ve had some very authentic Thai food in the US and in Thailand. I was disappointed at the texture and freshness of the ingredients. The meat felt overcooked, losing its juicy and tenderness. The veggies were undercooked, which works for some veggies, because it provides freshness. But for some veggies that needs to be cooked properly to have gain a sweetness, it doesn’t work so well.

Heres to all you bad reviewers ! If you dont like this place, then bring your own lunch to work. Or go eat your typical fatning BBQ and burgers. This food is great! Sorry they possibly could not accommodate your request for 9 people, One look at the size of the place should tell you thats a possible issue. They do an excellent business here for the size of the place and crew. If you doubt that take a look at their full parking lot at about 12:30 pm everyday. If you didnt like eating here then you are probably too hard to please anyway. The cooks know what they are doing for your optimum health benefit, so quit complaining and just finish your plate!
