Hungry on your way out of Nashville? Get off the interstate at Harding. Ignore the chains and the Hooters and all, look for the CARNICERIA (butcher shop) on the left, with the row of smoking drum barbecue cookers at the street. San Luis is at the far end of the butchery, one window and a stand-up table. Not much to the menu -- about a dozen different meat tacos. Spare and basic. The very friendly guy at the window pushed his beef tips tacos, and I got one, but also got two tongue tacos -- my favorite. Both kinds were delicious. The tortillas were soft, chewy and thick with a little bit of charcoal flavor. The tongue was subtly corned-beefy, tender, juicy, lean and excellent quality. The beef tips were even more tender, also top quality. Outstanding. The sauce on the side was a creamy, spicy, savory one Id never tried -- wondered if its a Salvadorean variant. Onions were sweet and tasty. A little too heavy on the cilantro, to my taste, but it was fresh and clean-tasting. A buck thirty-seven apiece, got a can of Diet Coke as well for a little over five dollars. Recommend forego the can of soda and walk across the parking lot to the little grocery for a peach nectar. THATS a LUNCH.

This is THE place to come for yummy tacos! Its all that they make, and they do a GREAT job! The chorizo and the spicy pork are our favorites, but all of the selections are fantastic. They only charge $1.37 per taco! Its unbelievable. May this place live long and prosper...it is that awesome. Dont be put off by the spartan look of the place...theres just a walk-up one-pane sliding window where you place your order and get your food. Nothing fancy, but who cares???? Im so glad this place exists; I only wish I lived a little closer.

I didnt love it but it worked for what we wanted. The hotel is older. But our rooms were clean. Beds very comfortable and pillows very nice n soft. By the airport but never bothered us because we never heard them in our rooms. No coffee maker in room. We just needed a place to sleep because we were visiting Nashville. They accept dogs so thats great! Very friendly at check in. No complaints about anything but maybe price. 100 a night really too much for this hotel.

Get the grilled 1/2 chicken dinner: Smoky, luscious chicken, conveniently cut up. A big cup of soup with some unknown ingredients in it (chicharones?), but its really delicious. An onion, halved and grilled in foil...tender and sweet! Tortillas, of course. Plenty of food...I cant remember what else came with it!

Best little taco place in Nashville! I recommend the barbacoa torta and the barbacoa tacos. If you like spicy sauce on your tacos make sure to get extra Green sauce. They sell large containers of it at the butcher next door. Just ask for salsa verde cremosa.

Yes, this place is in a shady part of town. The little strip mall that it is in is absolutely nothing to look at. Try not to think about all of that and just go. The tacos are fantastic. I recommend the Al Pastor. Bonus points if you can order in Spanish!

Excelent place with great taste, if you missed to eat spicy ask for the Enchiladas, THey are Really Spicy, Maybe too much. But are really good , also the Torta Cubana is tasty, and Gordita Chicharron(pork) is awesome!

This place is delicious and has the best street tacos anywhere. Red and green salsa are both HOT and flavorful. Get the barbacoa or lengua tacos. You wont be disappointed.
