I want to make this clear: the food itself was good, and the salsa bar is an innovation that I have yet to encounter from any independent restaurants locally. That said, we were brought the wrong drinks repeatedly, including diet (aspartame allergies here), the waitress couldnt give two craps about giving the right person at the table his or her right drink, and there was probably a ten minute period where we sat with empty or near empty drinks. On top of that, while we were waiting for our food, not once were our chips and salsa refilled when low. The waitress seemed perfectly capable of being happy and conversational with some of her other customers, but from the get go was evasive with us (I have similar suspicions as previous reviewers here regarding her; my middle name is Enrique, and theres a maiden name of Garza in my immediate ancestry, but I guess I dont look the part well enough). Finally, I had asked for some items to be left off my plate, and that was not the case. When I brought up some complaints with the manager while paying, he called the waitress over there and had a conversation in Spanish with her in front of us about it (where she tried to excuse herself, and inaccurately), and hovered around for a bit while I tried to close out the bill. This in itself was highly unprofessional, and a good way to drive off customers. Note to management: make some of your staff take hospitality classes, maybe take some for the management side yourself, and treat all of your customers equally. There are plenty of Mexican restaurants in Nashville that I have sampled over my life, and this by and far was the worst experience on the hospitality side. Ill take a slight hit on food quality in the future to avoid this place.

First and last time I ever come here, I decided to give this place a shot with my friend and it was the biggest mistake ever and waste of money !! HORRIBLE SERVICE AND COLD NASTY FOOD!! This place had about 3 or 4 customers so it wasnt busy at all, my friend and I waited 1 hour to get our food and it was horrible, came out cold and uncooked, cheese was not even melted!! I had to get up and get the waiter everytime I needed something because he didnt even bother to check on us. Instead he was too busy with 6 other waiters chatting and laughing. I sent my plate back 3 times till finally it was cooked all the way but when I got it at the end it looked disgusting And it was pathetic that I had to wait 1hour and 30 mins over food when the restaurant was completely empty, waiter never offered us refills nor asked if we was okay nor gave us the check . He Basically brought us our drinks, took our order and brought it out and disappeared to go chat with the staff. Will never come again. They didnt even do anything about me complaining of their horrible service.

My wifes dinner showed up with mine nowhere in sight - mine finally arrived when she was nearly done. The order was wrong; instead of a mixed grill, it was some kind of fish in a foil envelope which leaked all over the table and the floor. Used all the table napkins trying to mop it up; finally one of the waitresses wandered over, threw a bar towel on the floor, and swished it around with her foot. Even after we asked them to try again the mess wasnt cleaned up; I had to go to the bathroom, get paper towels, and do it myself. Manager came by and offered to start the order over, by this time my wife was nearly done eating so I told him not to bother. We asked for the check, waitress told us we would not be charged for the meal we didnt get and acted like that was really doing us a favor. Manager was generally unhelpful through the whole situation. We have had several good meals there in the past, but this will be enough to keep us from ever going back.

I read the reviews and thought great a close Mexican place. I am a Salsa lover, and this just did not cut it for me. Dallas has spoiled me. I asked if they had any other options they did, still not flavorful, just hot. The chips were ok, truth be told can get better chips from the super market. I had the Chile Rellenos as this in my onion will show how a restaurants feels about their product. The poblano pepper used must have been frozen it had 0 life. was not seasoned and just was kinda there, also one of the smallest Rellenos I have had. The beef taco was very well seasoned and quite tasty. The decor was atypical. service was poor waited some time (10-15 minutes) for my bill after I finished my meal. To the restaurant: Fresh ingredients are best. The salsa tasted like it came from canned tomatoes. I recommend using fresh tomatoes, onions, garlic, roasted peppers etc.. the chips need a real upgrade.

My wife & I live in Crieve Hall & used to eat here for lunch & dinner a few times a week. But not anymore. My wife ordered a shrimp quesadilla which had shrimp that still had tails on it & 2 shrimp still were in their casing. I ordered the poblano stuffed with shrimp & it wasnt stuffed with shrimp at all. It had 2 shrimp on the outside & none on the inside. Plus none of the cheese was melted. So why pay $11 for seafood when you dont get anything but a luke warm chile relleno? This is upsetting because my wife & I really liked this place. There wasnt even a manager on duty to listen to us. We will go back to our previous favorite place El Mariarchi on Thompson Lane @ this point. What a waste of my only night off.

Chips were stale, so we asked for new ones. The new ones were also stale. My husband and I ordered chimichangas. He asked the waitress if it came with onions and peppers because even though at most restaurants they dont he wanted to make sure. The waitress said that they did not. When we got our food both of our chimichangas had onions and peppers. I had them take mine back and they corrected it. My husband didnt want to be rude and send his back but later when he checked the rest of his chimichanga it had no meat so he had it remade. When they brought our check they charged us for his remake. They finally corrected our check. We have been here before and it was nice, but this was been the worst experience.

I wouldnt say that the food was bad. Actually if they could have gotten it right, Im sure it would have been very good. By the time it was right the rest of the food was cold. I never realized how hard it was to get the right tortillas and ingredients it was in a fairly standard meal. The worst part of my visit did not involve the food. Obviously I and my lady are the wrong color to go to this establishment and enjoy decent and courteous service as the four young gentle men there that were not buying anything, just there to hang out after a long night of partying. But they were the right color. Thanks but no thanks. Wont go back EVER!!!
